3 ENG enius-fund for international mobility ABOUT THE FUND Globalization of science and technology has made of international experience an indispensable pillar of Engineering and Engineering Architecture education. The Faculty of Engineering Science provides a wide range of international opportunities for both inbound and outbound students. However, not all of these opportunities have been as easily accessible to everybody as would be ideal. Although the EU encourages exchange within Europe with the successful Erasmus+ program, other exchange opportunities are hardly supported. In order to avoid financial aspects from becoming of overriding importance, a wider access to international experience beyond Europe should be created. This is why the Faculty, in collaboration with the Advisory Board of the industry and the alumni society VILv, has decided to set up a fund to finance academic scholarships. In doing so, we hope to both encourage excellent students from abroad to come to KU Leuven and stimulate KU Leuven students to complete their education with an international dimension. With this fund we also offer a platform for companies to connect to engineering students.

4 Who qualifies? STUDENTS OF KU LEUVEN: ENGINEERING AND ENGINEERING- ARCHITECTURE 1. Exchange to a university outside Europe Scholarship for the period abroad ( per month for a maximum period of 10 months) A contribution to travel expenses (max. 500) Monetary incentive (max. 250) 2. Internship abroad A contribution to travel expenses (max. 500) 3. Master s thesis outside Europe A contribution to travel expenses (max. 500) 4. Summer school abroad A contribution (max. 250) These contributions cannot be cumulated with other grants. EXCELLENT NON-EER-STUDENTS WHO ENROLL IN AN INITIAL OR ADVANCED MASTER S PROGRAM A (partial) scholarship for one or two years (max. of per year) A (partial) waiver of the tuition fee ( : 610) Condition: excellent academic records of the candidate EXCELLENT EER-STUDENTS Students who enroll in a dual Master s program at the Faculty of Engineering Science can be granted a scholarship. 6 Testimonials The boundaries or prejudices that exist in normal life were nonexistent. Although we all came from different countries, above all we were all students, all in the same town, all far from home, all living the same experiences. It may have been a bit sad when we had to say our goodbyes but now Europe has become more than just a concept to me. 7 Supporting the fund The resources to sustain this fund primarily come from donations by companies, organizations and individuals. When donating, the companies receive in exchange for their contribution: An acknowledgment on the fund s website; The opportunity to recruit trainees. The internship is formally approved by the program coordinator; The opportunity to offer Master s theses. The Master s thesis is formally approved by the program coordinator; Participation in the yearly event. If you wish to support this initiative you can make a donation. For any donation over 40 you will receive a certificate of tax deductibility of the KU Leuven. For any donation over 300 you will receive an honorable mention on the fund s website.
