2 Structured Cabling Trends for Enterprise Buildings and Data Centers Market Trends Standards Trends Technology Trends Systems Trends Innovations
3 Market Trends Enterprise Buildings The IP Traffic has grown 4 times the last 5 years and will continue with the same rhythm the nest few years The Mobile and wireless traffic tends to overcome the traffic of PC systems. CCTV Cameras, WAPs, BAS systems Wireless standards IEEE 802.1ac will support data rates up to 7Gbps Building automation systems market will reach up to 50 billion Euros the next 5 years.
4 Market Trends Data Centers Cloud computing is internet-based computing in which large groups of remote servers are networked to allow the centralized data storage, and online access to computer services or resources
5 ANSI/TIA/EIA STANDARDS ANSI/TIA/EIA 568-C is the new TIA/EIA standard which supersedes the legacy TIA/EIA 568-B family of standards ANSI/TIA-568-C A1:2010+A2:2012, Generic Telecommunications Cabling for Customer Premises ANSI/TIA-568-C A1:2012, Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standard ANSI/TIA-568-C A1:2010, Balanced Twisted-Pair Telecommunications Cabling and Components Standard ANSI/TIA-568-C A1:2011, Optical Fiber Cabling Components Standard ANSI/TIA-568-C , Broadband Coaxial Cabling and Components Standard ANSI/TIA-569-C 2012, Telecommunications Pathways and Spaces ANSI/TIA-570-C 2012, Residential Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard ANSI/TIA-606-B-2012, Administration Standard for Commercial Telecommunications Infrastructure ANSI/TIA-607-B-2011, Commercial Building Grounding (Earthing) and Bonding Requirements for Telecommunications. 8 Standards Trends Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TIA standards committee forms DAS Task Group (TR42.1 & TR160) TR-42.1 Subcommittee on Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling and TSB-162 Telecommunications Cabling Guidelines for Wireless Access Points work on TIA-4966 standard covering telecommunications systems for educational facilities and will include an informative annex covering distributed antenna systems (DAS). New TIA Category 8, ISO/IEC Class II performance TR-42.7 has opted to move forward with the nomenclature Category 8 as its next-generation twisted-pair cabling performance specification. Category 8 twisted-pair cabling will be specified to 2 GHz and is being developed for the express purpose of supporting the IEEE's next-generation Base-T application, 40GBase-T. New TIA Category 8, ISO/IEC Class II performance ISO/IEC International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission Joint Technical Committee 1 1 SC25 WG3 agreed on the following parameters. 1.Channels that support 40GBase-T will be called Class I and Class II, and will be specified to 30 meters matching the reach objective specified by IEEE The components that form Class I channels will be called Category 8.1 and will be backward-compatible with Category 6A components. 3.The components that form Class II channels will be called Category 8.2, and will be backward-compatible with Category 7A components. IEEE Ethernet Working Group Communication IEEE after 802.3ba for 40G/sec and 100G/sec is working on 400G/sec with target of Terabit/sec achievement. Ethernet is getting faster.
