3 Getting Started What is Intellecheck? Intellecheck was designed specifically for use with SunGard Higher Education (SGHE) Banner. Evisions turn-keys the process by building into your check files bank account information, addresses, signatures, logos, etc. At runtime, simply load the printer with secure blank check stock, run the Banner process and launch Intellecheck to release the print job. Your checks will print complete with all of your institution s pertinent information and data. File copies can print from the printer and bin(s) you select. It is completely seamless to the end-user. All that is needed is a PCL 5 or higher laser printer, secure blank check stock and MICR toner. We also support conditional laser signatures and you can select from unlimited sorting scenarios. Your administrator can use external reporting tools to develop the check printing/activity reports you need. How does it Work? There are essentially three functional pieces to Intellecheck. Intellecheck Client: Consists of a Windows-based program that runs on any version of Windows (95, 98, ME, NT4.0, 2000, XP). Intellecheck is delivered to your end user machine via MAPS. Multiple Application Platform Server (MAPS): The MAPS component resides on its own Windows machine. This allows end user to use a web browser to run the Intellecheck client without the need to install any files to their pc. Evisions version of the Banner process: Because the information is stored in Oracle, it is very secure. Nothing is stored at the local workstation and the check administrator controls all access to the data. Since the checks are printed from a Windows based machine, any laser printer attached to the sites network or even locally attached can be used. Installation The process consists of first installing MAPS and applying your license file, at which time Intellecheck will be automatically downloaded and installed. The Administration Tool Wizard is used to create the required tables in your Oracle environment and to configure the additional security for the product. During the installation, two temporary source code files (fabchkp and/or phpchkl) are transferred to your Banner server and compiled using the standard Banner Pro*C compile script. The commands are included in our installation documentation. Once compiled on the database, you can begin printing checks directly from Banner in your test environment. Going through this process will help ensure your test environment is ready for the installation of your institution s final production templates. Any challenges or issues with the Intellecheck environment can be identified well before the production check testing and go-live date. IntelleCheck Getting Started Page 3 of 5

4 Web-Based Training We offer weekly on-line sessions that address the functionality of MAPS and Intellcheck as they relate to each user s role. It is formatted to provide time for training, as well as the opportunity for question and answers. To register, please visit: our training calendar at: MAPS Administration Training: Will provide the administrator an understanding of how the MAPS platform is configured for Intellecheck. Intellecheck User and Administration Training: Will provide the End User and Administrator with an understanding of their roles within Intellecheck. Check Build To begin the process of having Evisions build your permanent check template, please download and submit the items on our Accounts Payable and/or Payroll checklist that can be found on our Getting Started webpage. Hardware and Check Supplies Laser printer(s) If you have a large number of checks to produce or check production is distributed to multiple offices, you may want to consider multiple PCL 5 or higher laser printers. Intellecheck can handle an unlimited number of printers and will load balance the check run. Blank secure check stock - Intellecheck is designed to use blank security paper for printing check output. You may want to consider moving to fold and seal check output if you have a large volume of checks. If you choose to do so, you will also need a fold and seal machine. MICR toner This toner is specific for printing checks and can be purchased through your printer vendor. Maintenance With your purchase of Intellecheck you receive 10 hours each for Accounts Payable and Payroll for certain modifications to your checks (ie. signature, logo, bank code, bank account updates, Banner upgrades, etc). These hours can also be used for one-on-one training and troubleshooting problems encountered while printing checks through Intellecheck. You will need to determine which of your staff will have access to utilize these hours. Once that is determined, please provide your Institution ID (included in the with the software and license) to the approved individuals. With this ID, these individuals will be able to register themselves with our HelpDesk and submit support requests. IntelleCheck Getting Started Page 4 of 5

5 Professional Services Significant modifications to the check layouts or data fields presented in the checks may fall outside the scope of annual maintenance. If requested, a quote will be provided for these types of projects on a case by case basis. Please submit a HelpDesk ticket with your request and it will be reviewed by our technicians and then forwarded onto our Professional Service Department to prepare the quote. User Guide The User Guide covers the overall functionality of Intellecheck including instructions with diagrams of how to process and void checks, generate positive pay files, direct deposit advices, printing reports, etc. It is available on our website in the Documentation and Software section at: HelpDesk We offer an on-line support system at: that you can use to search our Knowledge Base or submit support requests for modifications to your check template or technical support. Utilization of your 10 annual maintenance/support hours will apply to tickets submitted. Tickets will be responded to by the priority status chosen. Urgent - Production Down: This priority status is reserved for production down issues and will be responded to within 1 hour from the time it is received. High- Production Critical: This priority status is reserved for issues that will affect your daily production and will be responded to the same day the ticket is received. Medium - Time Sensitive: Your ticket will be responded to within 24 hours from the time it is received. Low - Not Production Critical: Your ticket will be responded to within 48 hours from the time it is received. Knowledge Base Search our Knowledge Base to find quick solutions to common issues or questions. Searching with key words is most efficient since questions can be asked multiple ways. You can locate the Knowledgebase at: Evisions Co-Op The Co-Op is a central point of contact for hundreds of Intellecheck clients to share ideas and advice.
