1 Tidebreak TeamSpot V1.0 Sarah Gyles, IT Services To find out more about this system web.anglia.ac.uk/it/software/learningtechnology/tidebreak Teamspot is the software used on each of our collaboration tables to be able to desktop share, move and share files to computers and annotate documents 1. Using the collaboration tables On each of our Collaboration tables there is a PC, a large display screen, a microphone for you to communicate with the whole room and audio jack inputs for you to plug in your headphones. To get started: 1. Ensure that the PC is switched on this is located under the table 2. Log in using your standard Anglia Ruskin Username and Password 3. TeamSpot software will open 4. Your collaboration Table will be added to the collaboration session automatically TeamSpot 1
2 2. Downloading the Tidebreak client to your laptop You can also join session via your own laptop. In order to join a collaboration session, you much first download the software client to your laptop. The TeamSpot client is available for both Windows and Mac. Windows: 1. Open your browser and enter the Host IP address displayed on the display screen on your collaboration table. e.g in to the address bar. 2. Once on the TeamSpot download page, Click Download Software. Mac: 3. A Download Software page should then open. Click the orange Windows button to download the client. 4. Click Run to install. Once installed, you should see a Tidebreak icon appear on your desktop and under Start>All Programs. 1. Open your browser and enter the Host IP address displayed on the display screen on your collaboration table. e.g in to the address bar. 2. Once on the TeamSpot download page, Click Download Software. TeamSpot 2
3 3. A Download Software page should then open. Click the orange Apple icon to download the client 4. Once downloaded, drag the Tidebreak icon to your Application folder Once downloaded, double click to open the application. A Tidebreak license agreement box will appear. Click I Accept and then Continue. 3. Joining a TeamSpot session via the client Once you have downloaded the client to your device, you are ready to join a TeamSpot session. To join a session: 1. Open the Tidebreak client, either double clicking the shortcut icon on your desktop or via Start> All Programs> Tidebreak 2. The Tidebreak client control panel will appear. If this is the first time you have joined this table: 3. Click in the This Machine box and enter an identifiable name. This name will be visible to other members attached to the session. 4. Click in New Location and enter the Host IP address displayed on the screen on your collaboration table you are joining. e.g Click OK. 6. On the Collaboration display there will be a 6 digit code, enter this code in to your authentication box on your laptop. Once entered click OK. 7. You will now have joined the session. TeamSpot 3
4 If you have already joined this table: 8. Click in the This Machine box and enter an identifiable name. This name will be visible to other members attached to the session. 9. In the Location to Join box, Select the Host s name from the drop-down list and click Join. 4. Joining a TeamSpot session via a Tablet or Smartphone device You can also join a TeamSpot session using your Smartphone or Tablet device. Note: joining via mobile devices is restricted to basic functionality. 1. Open your browser and enter the Host IP address displayed on the display screen on your collaboration table. e.g in to the address bar. This will open the mobile Tidebreak client. 2. In the Nickname section, enter your name. This name will be visible to other members attached to the session. 3. Click Join. 4. On the Collaboration display there will be a 6 digit code, enter this code in to your authentication box on device. Once entered click OK. TeamSpot 4
5 5. Using the Mini Panel The mini panel allows you to share, save and annotate on documents with other members of the session. Menu Options drop-down View Help information Session details and host address View Archive Add Comment Participant information Save Reset Annotate TeamSpot 5

Take control of collaboration table screens and main display screens using PointRight You have the power to control the main projector screen in you are using the collaboration Table PC or if you are using your own laptop, you can control both the collaboration table you re working at as well as the main display screen by using the PointRight function. To use PointRight via the Collaboration table PC: 1. Move the mouse curser to the top and past the edge of the display screen 2. You will see that your curser will be at the bottom of the main projector screen 3. You now have control of this display screen. To use PointRight via your own laptop: 1. Move the mouse curser to the top and past the edge of your laptop screen 2. You will see that your curser will now be at the bottom of the collaboration table display screen 3. Moving your curser to the top and past the edge of the collaboration display screen will enable your control of the main projector display screen. To release control of a display screen, keep moving your curser to the bottom off the display screens until you see it appear on your local device. More than one person can be active on a display screen, although only on person can take control of the mouse and keyboard at a time. TeamSpot 6
7 The curser of all the other active participants will still be visible on screen with their initials displayed for easy identification. 7. Sharing files and URL links with the CrossWarp function All computers connected to a TeamSpot session can share folders, files and URLS. This function is called CrossWarp. You can chose to share to individuals in the group or to all participants by a simple method of drag and drop. Using Drag and drop: Sharing Folders and Files: 1. Select the file or folder you wish to share (Images, word, excel, PowerPoint documents) 2. Drag these on to the mini panel by holding your left mouse button down. 3. Release the mouse button and drop them on the participant you wish to share these with. There is also the option to share with All participants. Sharing URL s: 1. Drag the URL address from your web browser to the mini panel by holding your left mouse button down. 2. Release the mouse button and drop them on the participant you wish to share these with. There is also the option to share with All participants. This will send a copy of the file, folder or URL to the recipient s computer and will be opened automatically. If you drag and drop your file on to All Participants, this file will be shared will all joined tables and participants. All received objects will be saved in your Received Files folder. TeamSpot 7
8 8. Copy and Pasting with the CrossPaste function CrossPaste is a function that lets you copy text or images and paste them on to another computer. To copy and paste content from your screen to another: 1. Select the content you wish to copy, right mouse click and select copy (shortcut ctrl + C) 2. Move your curser to the top of your screen and beyond until you have control of your desired display screen. 3. Paste your content to the groups document by right mouse clicking and selecting paste (shortcut ctrl + V) 9. Draw on screen using the Annotate feature The Annotate feature allows you to draw on the screen using virtual pens. To annotate on the screen: 1. Select the Annotate icon from the Mini Panel 2. The screen will then freeze for you to start your annotations. 3. Hold the left mouse button down and draw on the screen. TeamSpot 8
9 To change the pen colour: 1. Hold your left mouse button down without moving the mouse 2. You will see a circular menu option appear. Select your preferred pen colour by hovering over Color. 3. To select the colour, move your mouse on to your chosen colour and then bring the mouse back to the centre circle to select it 4. To exit this menu, select Exit. To save your annotations: 1. At the bottom of the screen, select Save to Local or Send to Archive (one will be available) to save your annotations. To exit the Annotation feature, select Exit Annotate located at the bottom of the screen. 10. Screen Share Screen sharing allows you to share your screen to others and also allow others to temporarily work on your desktop with you. There are two options available for desktop sharing, Show To and Share To. Show To displays your desktop to another screen. Share To displays your desktop to another screen and lets participants take control using their own mouse and keyboard. Using Show To and Share To: 1. Open the participant list on your Mini Panel and right click on the name of the participant you wish to share your desktop with. 2. From the menu, select Show To or Share To depending on whether you would like the participant to interact with your desktop. 3. The recipient will then need to approve the invitation. You desktop will then display on the participants screen. To stop sharing your desktop, select Stop Sharing from the Mini Panel. The participant can also choose to close the sharing window which will end the desktop sharing session. TeamSpot 9
10 11. Using the Archive The Archive is where documents are stored so that participants can gain access to them not only during the session but once the session has been concluded. To send items to the Archive: 1. Select and drag your item on to the Send to Archive button To view archived items: 1. Select the View Archive button. 2. The archive will be opened in your web browser To add a comment to the archived document: 1. Select Add Comment button and free type your comment in. To Save the documents to your local drive: 1. Select Save and select your desired save location. TeamSpot 10
