5 Individual consultants For minor assignments an individual consultant may be selected. Limited to 150 days per fiscal year. Letter of Appointment issued by the Human Resource Department Vendor registration not applicable Individuals register in the econsultant as firm. 5

6 Where does procurement take place? IFC HQ is located in Washington DC. IFC has more than 100 field offices located all over the world (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Caribbean). Consequently, IFC procurement take place all over the world. Operational procurement: HQ v. field 50/50 Administrative procurement: The big contracts take place in DC.

15 Where do I find the administrative business opportunities? All administrative business opportunities above $250K must be advertised on the WBG web site; 15

16 Where do I find the WBG executed operational business opportunities? All business opportunities above $50K must be advertised in the econsultant2 system; In addition all opportunities are also published in the on-line version of United Nations Development Business (UNDB) and on dg Market A Task Tam Leader may also advertise via other sources within their local market

17 econsultant2 system A web based procurement system mandatory for all operational procurement selections since September 2010 The system allow firms to view opportunities, express interest, obtain documents, send proposals and communicate with IFC in a secure online environment. econsultant 17

18 Getting started for Firms Firms must register in econsultant 2 Passkey provided after registration Prohibited to register the same firm under different names Vendor s primary contacts creates secopndary contacts (TTLs can also ask vendor s primary contact to add secondary contacts to the firm profile url for vendors: wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org Help for vendors: [email protected] 18

19 Vendor Registration Before qualifying to receive a contract or a purchase order from the World Bank Group the firm has to registered as a vendor. Apply on line WBG Vendor registration can be obtained before or after (preferred) a firm is awarded a contract.

20 Where do I find the Client executed business opportunities? The IBRD will publish - The Borrowers Procurement Notice in UN Development Business Online (UNDP online), and on the Bank s external website - In addition, the Borrowers will advertise - Request for Interest (consultancy services) - Invitations to Prequalify or to bid (goods and Services) locally or post the opportunity on a widely used website or electronic portal with free national and international access. 20
