3 More than 30 Years of Expertise. The partnership of Viering, Jentschura & Partner was founded in Munich in 1976 by Hans-Martin Viering and Rolf Jentschura. Both are still working to protect our clients interests. Currently, Mr. Jentschura is managing and guiding the firm together with all other partners. Since that time, VJP has become a worldwide patent and law firm with strong international experience. Altogether 170 employees advise our clients from various industrial sectors on legal issues and on the protection of intellectual property in all fields of natural science and technology. Viering, Jentschura & Partner is headquartered in Munich. The Bavarian capital is also regarded as the European capital of patent law. Our location at the centre of European and German patent law allows our clients to benefit from our proximity and close contacts with the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office and the German Federal Patent Court. Our Scope of Operation In Germany, we advocate for the interests of our clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Fe - deral Plant Variety Office, the Federal Patent Court, the Regional and Higher Regional Courts and the Federal Supreme Court of Justice, among others. We represent clients before the European Patent Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the European Court of Justice, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. Our activities outside of Germany are principally focused on Asia and North America, where VJP has important branch and representative offices, and cooperation partners. Protection and Prosecution We assist our clients with preparing, filing, enforcing and managing patents, utility models, trademarks, supplementary protection certificates, designs and (semiconductor) topographies. In addition, we offer search services with respect to all of these fields. IP Law in general and Litigation VJP s patent attorneys and attorneys at law represent and advise clients in appeals, oppositions, and in all revocation or cancellation proceedings. We are an experienced partner for handling license agreements, competition law matters, and copyright and domain name rights. We have broad expertise in handling matters involving cross-border infringement of intellectual property rights. Additionally, we have extensive experience in preparing opinions on infringements of intellectual property rights, and assessing the legal status of intellectual property. Our activities further encompass the fields of employee invention law, IP Due Diligence and auditing, as well as transfers and assignment of intellectual property rights worldwide.
