4 Areas for Improvement It is essential that any training plan should be linked into the info tech long- term objectives. An Information technology is a rapidly growing field with huge changes in technology occurring all the time. A critical technology training provide us an affinity for problem solving, technology supports and taking initiative. Facilitators Nick Dang Timeframe Measure of Achievement Each staff will have 5 days training per year. Baseline FA 2012 SP 25 days training. Target FA 2017 SP 100 training days Current FA 2012 SP training days per a staff. Complete full wireless system. Wireless network technology is a key enabling technology that allows institutions to extend their existing network into areas where hardwiring would be expensive or difficult. It allows users to achieve total PC portability and location independence. The technology can now go to the class rather than the reverse, allowing for rapid deployment anywhere even outdoors without the inconvenience of taking students out of their normal learning environment because they need network access. Facilitators Nick Dang Timeframe Measure of Achievement Total 10,000 access login for each Fall semester and Spring Semester Baseline 2009: 0 wireless access devices Target 2014: 340 wireless access devices Current 2012: 200 wireless access devices 4 07/11/2012 WLAC Office of Research and Planning

5 Currently, West Campus-wide fiber in infrastructure is out of date. Many bad fibers has been identified. Reestablishing new fiber network through-out the campus is a must. It will improve fiber connection communication between college buildings for future performance and redundant network. West does not currently have any user-friendly interface software for educational content management to meet instructor s demand. CMS allow instructor to create their own website, post lecture info to students, and to access homework assignments. New Kentico Content Management System will be introduced by the end of 2012 to College-wide. 5 07/11/2012 WLAC Office of Research and Planning
