The template will make it easier for you to follow the guidelines regarding layout and speed up the process of preparing the thesis for print and electronic publishing. 3 Word 2007 for Windows To get started you need to follow the steps outlined under to install the template and to create a new thesis document. If you change Word version or 2. Download the template for Word 2007 by right-clicking the link Word 2007 and saving the file to your desktop. The template is called UUThesis-Word2007.dotm and 3. Find the template UUThesis-Word2007.dot on the desktop. Right-click the template and click Cut (Klipp ut). The icon will become slightly greyed out. 4. Open Word 2007 and click Office Button My Templates (Office-knappen Nytt Mina mallar). 5. In the window Templates (Mallar), which is now open, right-click in the empty space and click Paste (Klistra in). The template UUThesis-Word2007is now installed and you can close the window by clicking Cancel (Avbryt). 1. Open Word 2007 and click Office Button My Templates (Office-knappen Nytt Mina mallar). 1. Find the template UUThesis-Word2007 and double-click it to create a new document. 1. Click Office Button Word Options Add-ins (Office-ikonen Word-alternativ Tillägg). 2. At the bottom of the window, set the dropdown Manage: Templates (Hantera: Mallar) and click OK 3. Click (Koppla ), select UUThesis-Word2007.dot and click Open (Öppna). 4. Check the box Automatically update document styles The UU Menu panel You will find a panel under the tab UU in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. This is the UU Menu and it contains Rubrik, Text, Tecken, Lista, and Bilder och tabeller. General instructions see Formatting exercise. 1

5 Word 2013 for Windows To get started you need to follow the steps outlined under to install the template, and to create a new thesis document. If you change Word version or change templates you can paste your text into a new thesis document or follow the instructions 2. Download the template for Word 2013 by right-clicking the link Word 2013 and saving the file to your desktop. The template is called UUThesis-Word2013.dotm and 3. Find the template UUThesis-Word2013.dotm on the desktop. Right-click the template and click Open (Öppna) to open the template in Word If prompted, click Enable editing (Aktivera redigering) and Enable content (Aktivera innehåll). 4. Click File Save as Browse (Arkiv Spara som Bläddra). 5. Reset the default file format and template location when saving the template by i) Set File format: Word Template (Filformat: Word-mall), ii) Set File format: Word Macro-Enabled Template (Makroaktiverad Word-mall). iii) Click Save (Spara). 6. Close the template and delete the original UUThesis-Word2013.dotm that you downloaded. 1. Open Word 2013 and click File Personal (Arkiv Nytt Personliga). 2. Find the template UUThesis-Word2013 and double-click it to create a new document. 1. Click File Options Add-ins (Arkiv Alternativ Tillägg). 2.
