1 Instructions for Application of Federal Tuition Assistance for Army Guard and Reservist Must be in 2 weeks prior to start of classes Application site: FUNDING: The GoArmyEd program is a 100% tuition assistance program up to $250 per semester hour, $167 per quarter hour, or $5.55 per clock hour and up to $4500 per fiscal year (OCT1-SEP30). The $4500 annual max can also be applied to fees that are DIRECTLY associated with classes (i.e. lab fees). GoArmyEd does not cover fees such as; Health Services Fees, Building of Facility Fees, Student Activity Fees. Soldiers must provide details of the fees on the uploaded statement of tuition fees. GoArmyEd cannot be used for books. AUTHORIZED LEVELS: Soldiers may use GoArmyEd to receive one degree or credential from each of the following levels. Associate Baccalaureate Masters or First Professional Certificate **Up to 150 credits for an undergraduate degree and up to 45 credits for a Graduate Degree or Certificate** DEADLINES: Applications for GoArmyEd can be submitted up to 60 days before the class start date and must be submitted prior to the start date of the course. Late applications will be considered on a case-bycase basis. THE PROCESS: Create an account in GoArmyEd. Upon creation of your account, you must complete the Common Application. A Statement of Understanding (SOU) signed by your unit commander must be uploaded into efile in GoArmyEd before you can submit your common application (Step 2 of the Common Application). You must then request TA and upload supporting documents as requested by the system. You will receive an once your TA application is approved/denied. *Check you SPAM folder in your if you have not received a response within 1 week of submitting helpdesk tickets or TA requests.* You can then go into GoArmyEd to print your TA voucher. YOU MUST PROVIDE THE TA VOUCHER TO YOUR SCHOOL SO THAT YOUR SCHOOL CAN INVOICE THE ARMY. Grades will be reported to GoArmyEd by the school. Below is the first screen. On the Left side of the screen select MONEY FOR COLLEGE. Then, select the Tuition Assistance site.
2 Read through the text provided on this page. Note the New Students Create GoArmyEd Account section. It will link you to the site to set up your account. Set up your account. You will need to verify, update and complete personnel information on the next few pages.
3 If the soldier s base role account is not found, you will be directed to create it.

10 How to Upload Documents in efile of GAE 1. Log into Go Army Ed [ with User Name and Password. 2. Select My Student Record. 3. Next, select Account Information. 4. Your Student Record page appears and select efile tab. 5. The efile page appears and the Title, Description, Transaction Type, and Select a File to Upload fields are there and must be completed. 6. The Transaction Type field has drop-down menu and select only the specific item you are uploading---if item you will upload IS NOT listed, choose OTHER, especially if you are attending NON-LOI School and you are uploading your Degree Plan. 7. Next, select Browse button and then find your document you saved as a file somewhere on your desktop or folder, etc. 8. The chosen document file name appears in the Select a file to upload field. 9. Select the Upload File button. And your file will then show as loaded into efile. 10. Uploaded files can be Viewed, Printed, Deleted, and Updated by individual who uploaded initially. 11 REQUESTING TUITION ASSISTANCE YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS FROM YOU RE MYHAWKEYE/SOAR ACCOUNT SCHEDULE SHOWING DATES AND DAYS CLASSES MEET DEGREE AUDIT YOU WILL ALSO NEED A SCREEN PRINT OF THE CHARGES PER COURSE. YOU CAN GET THIS FROM THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE OR REQUEST IT FROM THE BUSINESS OFFICE. 1. After logging in, you will select Request TA

13 The next section will have you put in the costs per class. All classes at Hawkeye have fees calculated at $6.00 per credit hour. Calculate those fees and put in the TA-eligible fees section. Unit refers to credit hours, so if you have a 3 credit hour class that is the number of units for the class.
