If at any stage during this process you receive this error messages: Database has failed to migrate. Please exit the application and the MDS Helpdesk at: mdssupport@facs.nsw.gov.au, for assistance. Please read MDS fact sheet Transition information before you commence installation. Installation 1. It is recommended to close all open programs prior to commencing the installation and migration process. 2. To download and install HADS 2.1.0e version, Download HADS software V2.1.0e with user manual by Dancrai (ZIP, 23MB) click and save to your desktop. 3. Return to your desktop and open the HADS zip file. 4. Double click on the HADSV2.1.0 Setup.exe file, as highlighted below. 5. This will launch the screen below. Click on Run and the installation process will commence. MDS FACT SHEET Page 1 of 5

2 6. The installation wizard will ask a series of questions. Follow all screens by clicking the Yes button and then the Next > button, remembering to accept the licensing agreement. 7. The wizard will automatically install the program into your file folder as displayed in the text box; however, if you wish to change this location, select the browse option. 8. HADS 2.1.0e version will then give you the option to create a desktop icon, make sure this is selected. 9. HADS 2.1.0e will then be installed once you click on the Finish and Close buttons. You have now installed the new version of HADS successfully on your computer. Migration wizard 1. Click on your new HADS 2.1.0e version icon from the desktop of your computer. The first time you open the new version the migration wizard will start. 2. As shown below, select the option I want to upgrade my existing HADS (A,B,C or D) data and then click on the Browse option. Helpful hint! If you are unsuccessful in locating the HADS database that you wish to migrate through the browse option, we recommend using your computers Search function by using the key word HADS. NOTE: The I have an existing HADS v2.1.0 database that I can locate option exists for providers whose databases have already been manually migrated to HADS 2.1.0e and the I want to create a new database but don t have any data to upgrade option is for new providers or first time HADS users. 3 3. You will need to browse/search to where your current HADS database folder is located and select the folder as shown below. (This folder must contain your database and HADS security file. The HADS database with be denoted with AG_name of database and the security file will be HADS_Security). Your view will be slightly different than the graphic shown here but you will see something similar to the screen below. Inside HADS database folder 4. Once selected, the location of your current database will be shown in the file path box. To continue with the migration wizard select the OK option. Note: The file path box will display your file path and name of your current HADS database folder. Here ours was located in the D: \ drive and the folder is named: HADS C\ MDS FACT SHEET Page 3 of 5

4 5. To create a new folder for your HADS 2.1.0e database, click on the Create button. 6. Click on the Make New Folder button and rename this folder as 2.1.0e database. Once completed, click on the OK button. 7. Click on the Next >> option, when the screen below is displayed. MDS FACT SHEET Page 4 of 5

The database migration wizard will now commence and you must wait for this process to complete (Remember if you receive any errors during this process you should immediately for further technical assistance). Once completed the following screen will be displayed. Press on the OK button. 9. Your database details have now been successfully migrated into your new HADS 2.1.0e version. 10. To check your success, please log into your new version of HADS, by using your current username and password. 11. Click the button Show All to verify all your clients have been migrated. Then on the Maintenance tab, go to My Service Outlet details and check that all your Outlets or Services are there to. Once verified you can now start using your new version of HADS. 12. In some rare instances the software may freeze upon the second log in. It is recommended that you log out of HADS 2.1.0e and repeat steps 10 and 11. Once this has been verified you can now start using your new version of HADS. If you experience a log in freeze upon your second log in attempt, please contact the MDS Helpdesk mdssupport@facs.nsw.gov.au Helpful Hint! As previously stated in the HADS 2.1.0e Transition information Fact sheet, Short cuts on your desktop for the old versions of HADS should be deleted and you should uninstall any other version of HADS after the installation and migration of your current database is successful. This will reduce the chance of someone within your organisation from using an incorrect version of HADS. MDS FACT SHEET Page 5 of 5
