5 WEB STOREFRONT & EDI: Your customers can order products on a web storefront provided by OPUS or use your own and pass orders to IPALM utilising EDI services. BACKLIST CATALOGUE: Choose a trusted partner to manage your backlist. OPUS will manage your catalogue right down to forecasting and reordering inventory. FULFILMENT: Inventory management is handled within IPALM speeding the fulfilment process and providing real time stock and order information. Print on Demand (POD): The IPALM system facilitates the POD process allowing clients to utilise digital technology to fulfil print orders as they are received. TRACKING & REPORTING: Save time by utilising real time order tracking. Users can view the progress of order lines, filter by status and receive notifications. ASSET ARCHIVE: Is a robust storage solution that provides customers with the peace of mind that their digital assets are secured, retained and retrievable after printing. WEB TO PRINT TEMPLATES: The system allows you to control your brand and eliminates the proofing process reducing turnaround times. 6 WEB STOREFRONT & EDI Your customers can order products on a web storefront provided by OPUS or use your own site or MIS system and seamlessly pass orders to IPALM utilising EDI services. Your customers can order products e.g. backlist catalogue, front list, web to print templates, downloads, collections, subscriptions, etc via a web interface and orders are automatically passed to IPALM for fulfilment. 7 WEB STOREFRONT OR EDI OPUS can supply customers with a web storefront for their clients to order from or if they are happy with their existing e-commerce web interface they can integrate directly into IPALM via EDI. WEB STOREFRONT IPALM can be configured to host a customer-facing web storefront. This web store front will be a white label service that can be extensively customised from within IPALM to meet a client s desired look and feel. WEBPAGE WITHIN YOUR WEBSITE The web storefront can appear as a page within client s website. The storefront is transparently linked into the customers own website so that their clients never know that they re dealing with a third-party supplier. REAL TIME E-COMMERCE SERVICES The web storefront is fully integrated into IPALM inventory management and print on demand. By using the built in web storefront your customers can benefit from real time information including online track and trace, ed advanced shipment notifications and more. ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE EDI The system currently accommodates two types of EDI messages 1) UN/EDIFACT D.96B and 2) Invoice supplied in PDF format. The group has the knowledge and experience to manage your backlist catalogue as we have over 30 years of publication printing experience, providing specialist printing and fulfilment services to many of the world s largest tax, educational and legal publishers. Easy import and upload of files to keep your backlist up to date. Category layout makes it easy to navigate the interface. Customers can come in and search your full backlist and order online. Advanced Search helps clients quickly find what they are looking for. Search criteria can include: - Title, Author, Editor, ISBN, Year of Publication, Series, Subject Area, Full Text Search. Fulfilment based on forecast sales volumes backlist items can be warehoused, or printed on demand. 10 Fulfilment A unique fulfilment service that allows clients to combine our Print on Demand (POD) capabilities with our ability to print and hold stock items, creating a flexible and cost effective fulfilment model. The OPUS contact centre, print capabilities, security cleared staff and high security warehousing facility combine to offer a unique fulfilment service. This service is particularly suited to work involving: Tight deadlines (Parliamentary work, newsletters and periodicals) and journals. Strict security (Federal Budget and related documents), marriage certificates. 12 PRINT ON DEMAND (POD) The IPALM system facilitates the Print on Demand (POD) process which provides OPUS clients with the benefit of being able to sell or consume printed products without having to hold inventory. The term Print on Demand (POD) refers to printing small quantities of products with digital technology to fulfil orders as they are received. Some advantages of this process are listed on page 13. CAPABILITIES: Keep backlist titles in print. Automated order submission Reduced storage, handling and inventory costs. No waste from unsold products. With OPUS combine POD & warehoused items for the optimal fulfilment solution. Start off with POD and then do an offset print run if your sales volume warrants it. Page 12 I Opus group

13 REDUCE INVENTORY COSTS Whether you are supplying or consuming printed items such as business cards, marketing material, brochures, journals, or books utilising the OPUS Group s Print on Demand (POD) capabilities can help you to reduce inventory, waste, and in many cases turnaround times. UP TO DATE VERSIONS By utilising Print on Demand (POD) you can rest assured that clients and staff will always be referencing the latest version of your printed material. As your business or situation changes simply update your artwork and the next order will be produced in the latest version. BACKLIST CATALOGUE Print on demand can be used to maintain the availability of older titles whose future sales may not be great enough to justify a further conventional print run. This can be useful for publishers with large back catalogues of older works, where sales for individual titles may be low, but where cumulative sales may be significant. REDUCE RISK / FORECASTING Print on demand can be used to reduce the risk of ordering too much stock when forecasting print volumes. A print buyer can utilise cheaper conventional print to produce enough copies to satisfy a conservative forecast and then use POD to make up the difference if sales end up being ahead of forecast. PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE Print on Demand is a valuable production method to use at the start and end of a print product s life cycle. Initial copies can be printed on demand and circulated for feedback. Conventional print could be used until demand starts to wane, then orders once again can be printed on demand. Opus group I Page 13

14 Tracking & REPORTING Save time by utilising real time order tracking. Users can view the progress of order lines, filter by status and receive notifications. Customers can enter an order number and track the status of the order throughout the order creation, production and dispatch process. This feature also allows clients to track jobs and even individual order lines within an order and across multiple geographies. 15 Quick search Simply enter a job number and then view the status of your order throughout the production and dispatch process. Track order lines This feature allows clients to track jobs that are being produced at multiple sites as part of the OPUS regional and or best fit print solution. Filter by job status The system will display a status showing where in the production process the order is located. Status fields can be used to filter jobs and include: Ordered, Prepress, Printing, Finishing, Completed, Dispatched, and On Hold. Notification s If the system user supplied details it is possible to request that: A) the user is notified on Dispatch via B) the user is notified on Deliver via Dashboard The dashboard can be set up to graphically display frequently reviewed criteria such as best sellers, delivery performance etc. End of month reporting IPALM can generate a standard set of reports at the end of each month, sales, stock on hand, orders on hold etc which can be automated to run and be ed to the appropriate contact. Custom Reporting Clients can request custom reports to be written by the IT team. This can be of great value when making product mix decisions. Opus group I Page 15

16 Asset Archive Opus Asset Archive is a robust storage solution that provides OPUS customers with the peace of mind that their assets are secured, retained and retrievable after the print job has been completed. Opus leveraged the groups IT Infrastructure and ISO Integrated Management System (ISO 9001 & ISO Quality Certified) to develop an Asset Archiving solution that is robust and reliable. The OPUS Groups investment in a first class Data Centre is the backbone to the groups asset archiving. 17 Power: This Data Centre is supported by an in-building power substation. The UPS s 3-string battery backup is backed up by a diesel generator. There is on-site fuel storage to service the generator system running at full load for a period of approximately 288 hours. Cooling: All areas have n + 1 redundancy built into the cooling capacity in the event of a failure. The data centre s ambient room temperature and humidity is monitored along with the plenum charge being delivered to cabinets. All systems are alarmed and managed by the Network Operations Centre (NOC) and dedicated facilities staff. The NOC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Security building: The data centre is a highly robust construction, it is windowless with brick ramparts minimize the effect of any potential heavy vehicle impact. There are a minimum of two layers of physical security for the customer s individually keyed rack. Security monitoring. CCTV cameras are strategically located throughout the facility, recording 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. 18 WeB TO PRINT - template This system allows our clients to create, edit, and approve online templates during the prepress phase. Web to Print - Template is targeted toward commercial and government users who may access public or private online storefronts to create and order print products. Within these storefronts, customers can choose pre-designed templates where they can alter the typeface, copy, images, and layout within a template, or approve a template layout and design that has been created by another person. Materials produced by the Web to Print - Template process include business cards, brochures, posters, marketing collateral and stationery, among other printed matter, full colour or in black and white on various papers and on various presses. The system can be customized so that the site appearance shows your brand to your customers. Integrated template design allows for a range of document types to be built. Varied approval work flows. Pre-built and custom reports provide detailed information on system activities. Letters can be printed, personalised, folded and machine inserted into envelopes, with other material if required. Whether you choose to distribute your publications in envelopes or plastic wrapping, we offer machine processing as the fastest and most cost effective option available. We can print and address your envelopes and address cover sheets as part of the overall mail house service.
