The founders manage and run the business on a daily basis. Tal and Lior are cousins and coworkers who grew up together and were influenced by Israel's Startup Nation environment. Emerald Medical Applications is operating in the field of image processing software infrastructure solutions for an extensive range of applications in diverse medical business areas such as EEG, X- Ray, bio-imaging, etc. Emerald Medical Applications focus on digital image processing, using computer algorithms to perform image process over digital images. This technology will enable a wide range of applications using diverse algorithms. DermaCompare is the first application to utilize our sophisticated image processing technology. The skin lesions detection software solution is designed to revolutionize the process of diagnosing melanoma, the major cause of skin cancer related mortality. DermaCompare supports early stage diagnosis of skin cancer by providing constant monitoring of suspicious skin lesions using various imaging methods, thereby significantly increasing the chances of treating the condition, as well as lowering the cost and complexity of treatment. Mr. Tal Wayn has over fourteen years of experience in managing and designing sophisticated software systems as well as other intelligent software applications for leading Israeli companies. Prior to establishing Emerald Medical Applications, Tal founded Sapphire Information Systems. Tal has served as an Enterprise Program Manager for HyperRoll Inc and InfoGin Ltd. Tal also held several key R&D and Management positions for leading Israeli business intelligence firms. Mr. Lior Wayn leads the company's business and marketing activities. Lior has over twelve years of marketing and sales experience. He has held several Marketing & Sales Directorships with enterprise such as Nees, Malam-Team, mid-size and start-up companies. Mr. Lior Wayn also worked as a Product Specialist and as IT Director at one of Israel s leading tourism industry business. DermaCompare is the first of its kind population-wide melanoma screening. DermaCompare is cloud based real time auto image processing comparison tool, based on military technology for deciphering of aerial shots for early detection of skin cancer which will help cure more than 420 million high risk Melanoma population. Too many hours of exposure to direct sunlight is dangerous and can lead to skin cancer. A significant majority of the high risk 420 million populations are typically from the North America, Europe and Australian regions. For several years, this population has suffered from the lack of dermatologists' abilities to successfully locate and properly diagnose dangerous new or changed skin lesions. Melanoma is the only cancer that marks the skin with a 'preliminary' written warning notice. Nevertheless, melanoma death rates have not declined over the years. Over the last 15 years there have seen significant developments using such technology as Total Body Photography (TBP) which provides a complete record of the skin. Unfortunately, the process of photographic digitization has gradually led to rising frustration among dermatologists. Their current diagnosis efforts are based on time-consuming and inefficient manual scanning and comparisons to identify differences between two TBP image sets in order to locate essential new and changed skin lesions. - More than 60% of melanoma cases are the result of a new mole. - More than 40% of melanoma cases are the result of changed moles. However, since the human body dynamically changes over time, manual diagnosis of patients is severely limited hence.
