(PI: Sung Un Kim) Grant-in-Aid 2012 Funded by The Catholic University of America Co-PI Teens Heath Information Behavior Aimed to understand young adults health information behaviors on Facebook; surveyed undergraduate and graduate students, aged between 18 and 29. (PIs: Sue Yeon Syn and Sung Un Kim) Grant-in-Aid 2012 Funded by The Catholic University of America Principle Investigator Exploring How Teachers Use Social Media for Reading Promotion and Instruction in K-12 Schools Aimed to understand how social media is used as an instructional tool for reading promotion to increase students reading level in the K-12 school environment; conducted phone interviews with 30 teachers English teachers, ESL teachers, and school librarians. (PI: Sung Un Kim) Center for International Scholarship in School Libraries (CISSL), Rutgers Funded by the New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL) Research Assistant Page 4 of 8
5 Collaborated with the CISSL research team in data analysis of a large scale study about New Jersey school librarians (n=764); had regular meetings for coding schemes and analysis plan; analyzed data with NVivo and SPSS. (PIs: Ross J Todd, Carol Gordon and Ya-Ling Lu) Development of New Online MLIS Program, Rutgers Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Graduate Assistant Provided instructional design and technical support for faculty and instructors developing and teaching online courses and creating multimedia content; performed continuous assessment projects on the program; developed a self-assessment rubric for online instructors; created a student advising wiki site; presented and published research on the online program at conferences and scholarly journals. (PIs: Nickolas Belkin and Karen Novick) Joint Research for Electronic Recordkeeping Systems Funded by the Korea Research Foundation Research Assistant Assisted in the implementation of an interdisciplinary research project between LIS and Public Administration for developing a reference model of Korean recordkeeping system; examined electronic records management systems in Korean government agencies; performed literature review on foreign electronic recordkeeping systems. (PI: Hye-Ran Suh) National Digital Library Project 2002 Funded by the Korea Government Research Assistant Assisted in a national project for developing the National Digital Library of Korea through the university-industry collaboration with Yonsei University s LIS and Architecture programs and Sam Woo Architecture & Engineering as well as the IT consulting and solutions unit of the electronics corporation LG; investigated the services of the existing National Library of Korea; explored best practices of domestic libraries and information agencies; examined foreign national digital libraries.
