We also encourage End Users and OEM s to construct their own CAD-Duct compatible Catalogues of Fittings and Equipment; then publish them on the Web for general use. Parametric Fittings include : Tee s, Reducers, & 30 deg Inside and Outside Risers. From the Master List, locate the Pattern or Equipment Template that meets your new Product requirements. Examine the Key dimensions and Options required. Lock unused or fixed dimensions. Add the required data in an Excel Spreadsheet for all sizes; you can include Part No s, Weights etc Import the Excel data into the Template. Define the Connectivity Specification for all Products in the Group :Couplings, Spigot + Socket, Flanges. Check out in AutoCAD for all sizes.

7 A Perfect Solution for Equipment As part of the standard package CAD-Duct provides Templates which can represent Valves, Pumps, Vessels, etc. These templates enable dimensionally accurate representation, but for reasons of speed, their graphical display has been kept to an acceptable level. If true representations are required CAD- Duct does offer a solution: Many Drawing Offices and OEM's have produced highly accurate equipment libraries in the form of 3D Solid Models. These are not usually parametric, and so each size requires a separate Drawing. Also these Models do not have any intelligence; that is they cannot report their Pipe or Duct Size for Connectivity. CAD-Duct includes a User Object Identification Wrapper or WRAP, which can be attached to any Solid Object Drawing to provide the intelligence that allows these Objects to be fully integrated into the CAD-Duct System.
