2 PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Edge is a high-impact, interactive training program designed and led by Brent Seal, specifically for high school students wanting to get The Edge over stress and the demands of our modern, chaotic world. The program structure has been designed in collaboration with current high school students through in person meetings, online surveys and feedback from a pilot program run in two high schools. The 5 week program is meant to empower students with simple, yet effective strategies to manage the stress of the new hyper-connected, hyper-competitive world and break through to the next level of performance in academics and life. The program will cover a variety of topics related to mental health awareness, mental wellness, stress management, self-confidence, support systems and other areas related to wellness and high performance. ABOUT BRENT SEAL Brent is the founder of Mavrixx, a social enterprise dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and wellness and helping young people turn their challenges into opportunities and become high performers. Having spoken at schools, events and conferences around BC and across Canada for the past 7 years, Brent has received rave reviews from his presentations (see testimonials below). Brent attempted suicide and was diagnosed with schizophrenia while studying Business at Simon Fraser University. After a strong recovery, he went on to graduate as Valedictorian of his class, complete a number of ultramarathons and has been become one of the leading youth voices of mental health and wellness in Canada as co-creator and co-host of the Balancing Our Minds Youth Summit at Roger s Arena and co-mc of the Child and Youth Mental Health Collaborative.
