3 Unique Programme Features The MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management touches upon all aspects of the effective operations and management of the supply chain in what is recognised as a highly competitive global marketplace. The programme addresses how successful operations and supply chain management can enhance the competitive advantage and shape the growth goals of an organisation. The programme will equip you with the essential skills to become operations, logistics or supply chain strategists of the future. Combining XJTLU s growing reputation, IBSS dynamic innovative international expertise, intensive collaboration with the business community and our proximity to the Yangtze River Delta region, the programme is one of the few English language Masters programme of its type in China. Core Modules Strategic Operations Management Supply Chain Operations Management Logistics and Physical Distribution Theory and Practice of Lean Operations Strategic Purchasing Management Strategic Business Analysis Marketing Management Accounting and Financial Management Dissertation Additional Learning Activities The programme includes an additional 600 hours of Additional Learning Activity (ALA) normally spread equally over all the semesters of the programme, which could consists of one or more of the following elements: English language modules, which may be mandatory for individual students Chinese language classes for non-native speakers Graduate teaching or research assistantship A defined work placement within SIP s Innovation Park, for example working at a manufacturing, logistics or other supply chain related organisation A personal or corporate related business development project The development of research methods skills The application of simulation and optimisation tools in the design of effective supply chains The application of project management tools and techniques and risk assessment Careers While studying in Suzhou, you will have the chance to obtain a UK University of Liverpool MSc degree which is fully recognised by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Before joining IBSS he was an Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool and for thirteen years director of the Agility and Supply Chain Management Centre which is a research and business support centre based at the University of Liverpool Management School. If you have not studied at degree level in English, you will need to provide evidence of your level of proficiency in the English language. You should normally possess (or be planning to complete) one of the following qualifications: -- IELTS: 6.5 with minimum of 6.0 in each of the 4 language skills --TOEFL ibt: 94 Individual cases will be considered on their own merits. You may be required to attend interviews or tests to further demonstrate English proficiency. As a condition of your admission or after admission, you may be required to complete English language modules as part of your additional learning activity requirement during your studies at XJTLU, on a pass/fail basis, depending on your proficiency in English.
