Using the physical address, The FIPS/ID number used was based on this physical address and not the physical geography of the location. staff used the USDA NAIP meter imagery, Google Earth Street View, and occasionally local contacts to locate the individual points. Each point was assigned a unique ID derived from the School District Code and the School code. That was linked to the spreadsheet to add the various attributes from the privateschoolreview.com web site. WHEN THE PROCESS OCCURRED :00:00 DESCRIPTION staff took the list of individual schools from the privateschoolreview.com and used the m NAIP imagery from the USDA, Google Earth Street view, and occasionally local contacts to locate the schools. A unique identifier consisting of the school district code and the school code was added to the point feature. This unique ID was used to relate the Excel spreadsheet provided by the website with various attributes. The result was saved to a file geodatabase feature. The metadata was then entered and validated. Once validated, a shapefile of this feature was exported to be provided to the web site for distribution. PROCESS STEP RATIONALE This was the most complete collection of private school locations for Mississippi.
