13 Recognition of the degree UEX has developed an Own Degree in Management Engineering UPV, according to its internal regulations, is working on a Triple Degree Agreement concerning the University of Parma, NJIT and UPV The official regulation of Parma University (RAD Regolamento Didattico di Ateneo) was modified, introducing a note indicating that the Faculty of Engineering will deliver the international study plan of UMANE starting from 2011/12, as well as the Dual Degree. NJIT: BS degrees in Engineering Science 9

14 CREDITS 3 US credits = ECTS Italy Spain: 1 ECTS = 25 hours US: A course of 1 credit corresponds to 1 hour/week of lesson for the whole semester, which is 15 weeks long. Hence, we approximately have 1 credit = 15 hours in the US. 10

23 Conclusion US Students who completed the program already got jobs and are happy with their experience. Current US and European students are also happy with their experiences, some are thinking in staying in the US while other are thinking of staying in Europe. The cultural exposure and knowledge of languages seem to be the dominant factors in selecting UMANE students for interviews by Employers.

24 Conclusion ( continued) Flexibility..Flexibility is very important and crucial by the involved institutions. It is after all, despite all challenges, a rewarding experience for all involved, Faculty, Students, Administrators, and PARENTS

25 A Student s Feedback My semester in Valencia, Spain has been the greatest experience in my educational career. It has provided me with an indescribable amount of skills that I did not imagine I would achieve before entering the UMANE program. I have been able to build my Spanish proficiency level significantly, all while working on the courses for my second degree in Engineering Management. I think that the UMANE program gives students an amazing opportunity to enhance their language/diversity skills and enhance job opportunities for the future in so many different ways. Lina Truong
