Schedule depends on clerkship rotation and site needs. 4 Course Mission The mission of this clerkship is the development of the candidate s knowledge & competence with providing clinical pharmacy services to cardiology ICU & telemetry floor patients. The candidate should already have achieved the requirements for Level 0, 1, 2, & 3 reflected on the Candidate Ability Requirements. Course Objectives As stated above Competencies Refer to the content provided in the Candidate Ability Requirements for P4 students Teaching Methods This experiential course will be delivered in practice settings where students will provide clinical services under the supervision of pharmacy practice faculty / preceptors. Students will manage a set of patients pharmacotherapy, deliver case presentations, answer drug information requests from the team and complete a set of projects to increase their knowledge of this area. Assessment Methods Grading will be based on overall performance, professional performance and assignments. Students will complete a minimum of 3 graded assignments during the Cardiology Clerkship Rotation: Literature Interpretation / Evaluation: Student will be assigned a journal club presentation or written drug information question Educational In-service for pharmacy, nursing, or medical staff Patient care or quality improvement project to be assigned by preceptor. Examples include but are not limited to the following: a clinical case presentation of an interesting patient seeing during the rotation and review of pertinent drug therapy clinical trials, cardiology medication use evaluation, cardiology drug monograph for formulary evaluation, or other assigned activity. Grading This course is graded on a point scale, with a minimum score of 70 out of 100 points required to pass. The grading criteria are as follows:
