3 SCOTCH WHISKY CAMPBELTOWN AND LOWLANDS Auchentoshan 12yo Sweet, soft start becoming flowery. Crisp mid-palate then butter icing, lemon cheesecake and freesias. Rosebank 21yo Parma violet notes take the fore. Pleasing notes of bramble leaves,toffee apple and cranberry,as well as a little kiwi,pine sap. HIGHLANDS Glenmorangie 10yo Cinnamon with some flowery notes, light with a hint of spice and a creamy buttery finish. Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban Winter berries and a touch of port. Sweet and thick. Notes of barley sugar and cereal. Glenmorangie Signet A contrast of rich sweetness with an explosive crackle of sizzling spices and bitter mocha Dalmore 12yo Deep, golden mahogany in colour, with citrus fruits, chocolate and aromatic spices on the nose. Elegant and rich on the palate Dalwhinnie 15yo Aromatic & dry, with aromatic honey, heather notes with a peaty finish. Oban 14yo The Western Highland representative in Diageo's 'Classic Malt' series, Oban 14yo is a superb, full-blooded fruity malt with a whiff of heather and more than a hint of smoke Haig club Ultra-smooth with note of butterscotch and toffee SCOTCH WHISKY ISLAY Bowmore 12yo Bowmore 12yo has a place in many hearts as Islay's 'mediumpeated' malt. A pronounced iodine character with plenty of pepper, yet the malt is balanced and smooth as well as smoky. Bowmore 25yo Hint of flowering currant. Nutty. Layers of dry, black treacle, maltiness. Smooth. Polished stone. Hard, salty, liquorice Laphroaig 10yo The oak is big, and muscles its way into the fore as you hold this whisky over your tongue. An upsurge of spices develop cardamom/black pepper/chilli Ardbeg 10yo Sweet vanilla counterbalanced with lemon and lime followed by that surging Ardbeg smoke that we all know and love Lagavulin 16yo Sweetness of a sherry character. As the particular, salty notes emerge in a bear-hug of peat. Lagavulin Distillers Edition Sweet and luscious; a clear, grassy malt, then the peat attacks, smoke filling the mouth. A very salty tang at one point; the middle offers coffee and vanilla with a glimmer of fruit Caol Ila Distillers Edition Sweetness and maltiness strike first, then are quickly overwhelmed by peat smoke and intense, clean, crisp flavours. Caol Ila s signature smoky bonfires are here, and build to quite a size. Overall, drying, in a beautifully balanced, complex, elegant development, complemented with cinnamon spice. INTERNATIONAL ENGLAND St George s Distillery Diamond Jubilee Sour plums, then spicy and malty. Spiced cherries and apples and custard with a finish tending towards bitterness. WALES Penderyn Aromas of rich dried fruit with fresh blackberries and dark chocolate. Penderyn That Try Elegant notes of coastal breeze, orange peels and a hint of smoke. IRELAND Jameson The palate is thick and of good body with notes of orchard fruits. The finish is of medium-length spice and honey Bushmills It s a blend of triple distilled single malt whiskey with a lighter irish grain. Rich warming taste of fresh fruit and vanilla. Green Spot Pot Still It is a young whiskey (7-8 years old) the nose is fresh and the taste in full of fresh fruit and mint. The finish is short but very pleasant 8.50 Powers John s Lane 12yo Dusty, sweet, chocolate - opening a tin of Bourbon creams - hint of Plasticine. Beautiful sweetness up front (brown sugar, toffee, coconut macaroons, madeleines) with deeper notes following - ginger, nutmeg, Victory V spice - mouth-filling, chewy and rich. Wild Geese Single Malt lime and green apple. Taste is nicely bitter with strong white pepper, ending with sweetness combined with peat, which stays through the finish. Complex whiskey with many taste nuances CANADA Canadian Club Notes of winter spice and dark sugars, a touch of rum. 5.00

5 SCOTCH WHISKY ISLANDS Isle of Jura 10yo Light bodied in the mouth, with malt and drying saltiness. The finish is malty, nutty, with more salt, plus perhaps just a wisp of smoke. Highland Park 12yo Delicious sweetness heather-honey a trace of smoke and a warming, silky mouth feel. Highland Park Dark Origins Rich mahogany. Sherried spice and ripe bananas combine with roasted hazelnuts and baked apple nose. On the palate a well-balanced, dry peat at first mellowing out to maraschino cherries, warm dark chocolate. Finishing with an enduring sweet smokiness Highland Park 18yo Honeyed exotic fruits with a little botrytis. The palate is creamy and full with fruit conserves and espresso. A creaminess with cinnamon and allspice. Notes of toffee with thick black forest honey with a touch more citrus Talisker 10yo Full bodied with huge plumes of smoke and volcanic, peppery peat. Talisker Distillers Edition Sweet, roasty malt with heathery dryness. Sherry notes keep back some pepper. In its place is luscious, slightly oily sweetness with juicy fruit and vanilla. Talisker 25yo Sweet and meek to start, with some acidity and saltiness. Extraordinary flavour development. Becomes dry, stony, minerally, dusty, toasty. Ground white pepper. Chillies Talisker 30yo The smoke is immediate and dry with creamy oak. Almond milk and light, sweet stone fruits emerge, joined by a trace of salt, as with peat moss in the rain or seaweed. SCOTCH WHISKY BLENDS Ballentines Finest Malty, a little sweet, shortbread, dry oak. The palate is thick and creamy with notes of vanilla, toasty oak, honey again. Jack Daniel s A nose of soft cooked fruit with hints of brown sugar, oak and a hint of vanilla lead to a flavourful finish of sweet, ripe fruit, cocoa and the classic Jack Daniel s caramel taste. Gentlemen Jack An initial soft and sweet nose, turning slightly dry with notes of brown sugar and charcoal. A dry start, becomes spicy and sweet with notes of cinnamon & citrus on the finish. Jack Daniel s Single Barrel A truly complex whiskey with the nose highlighting the toasted oak nature of the barrel with hints of liquorice, smoke and toffee. A wonderful palate of maple and vanilla coupled with a punchy spiciness and a long finish that remind us of the unique nature of the Single Barrel marque

6 JOHNNIE WALKER FAMILY Johnnie Walker Black Notes of wood smoke and dry spice, hints of barley and cereal with creamy toffee and a distinct herbal note. Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that s typical of Johnnie Walker. There s more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there s a spiced sweet vanilla note too. Johnnie Walker Platinum Sweet and warming, with creamy malt, oats and cereal. A spicy vanilla cinnamon dusting too with the gentle smoke again developing Johnnie Walker Blue Label Good toffee and hints of very wistful smoke. Chocolate, hints of grass and a good hit of malt. Floral, oaky, good length, urged on by a plume of very well-kept, highland style smoke. Dried fruit, spice, honey King George V Soft, buttery toffee and general fruitiness. Medium bodied, but very malty and well-constructed blend. Golden syrup, creamy spices and malt on the finish. BUFFALO TRACE FAMILY Buffalo Trace Spicy and sweet with caramel, creamy toffee éclairs, hints of cinnamon, rum spice and cereal sweetness. On the palate good length with sweet spices, cinnamon gum and toffee. Eagle Rare The nose is complex, with aromas of toffee, hints of orange peel, herbs, honey, leather and oak. The taste is bold, dry and delicate with notes of candied almonds and very rich cocoa. The finish is dry and lingering George T Stagg Big notes of maple and treacle with a generous dose of rye. Dominated by fresh ground coffee beans and candied citrus peel with a wave of vanilla rushing over it AUSTRALIA Hellyers Road The nose shows fresh fruit on cereal, a touch of vanilla, coconut oil with a hint of spice evident in the background. The warming palate is almost creamy in texture, and delivers the generous malty flavours promised by the nose in a most distinguished fashion.
