1 Anton Polezhayev Soloist/Artist-in-Residence/Concertmaster Violinist Anton Polezhayev won Grand Prix" at the International Violin Competition of Pierre Lantier in Paris, France, 1997, as well as numerous other competitions, awards and scholarships. Mr. Polezhayev was a member of the New York Philharmonic from 2002 to 2004, and prior to the Philharmonic, a member of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra from 2000 to In addition to his recital and teaching schedule, Anton Polezhayev currently holds the position of Associate Concertmaster with Orchestra Sinfonica do Estado de Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a soloist and recitalist Mr. Polezhayev was featured on the cover of Part 2 of Newsday on October 21, 1992, and the New York Times on January 18, 2004, and has performed on radio and television. His credits also include performances at the International Concert Series at Hofstra University, Tilles Center, Alice Tully Hall in New York City, and numerous concert halls in Europe and Russia. Mr. Polezhayev was educated at the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Dr. Albert Markov ( ) and Principal Associate Concertmaster of New York Philharmonic Ms. Sheryl Staples ( ). Mr. Polezhayev was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1976, and at age 5 began his violin studies at the Central Music School of Moscow State Conservatory. Mr. Polezhayev was re-appointed as the Artist-in-Residence with the North Shore Symphony Orchestra for the season.

2 Concert I: Musical Keys! WINNERS OF CONCERT FESTIVAL CONCERTO COMPETITION Maxim Lando Maxim Lando, a 9-year-old pianist, student of Meichun Bao and Pippa Borisy, is the only child musician ever to perform chamber music on the critically acclaimed Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players series in NYC, where he has been a Guest Artist every year since the age of six. Maxim has performed at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, and the Bechstein Centre; and presented his first full-length solo recital when he was 7 years old. Recently Maxim has also performed for the Andrea Lang Fundraiser in Manhattan; at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Massachusetts; on the Heritage Village Concert Series in Connecticut; and for the Wharton Music Center in New Jersey. He is a fourth grader at JFK Elementary School in Great Neck, New York. Elena Gribelyuk Elena s first piano teacher was Tatiana Khurgina. Since 2009, Elena, 11, studies music theory and piano playing - with Svitlana Fiorito. In 2010, Elena received two first prizes, at the CSMTA competition and at the Crescendo Little Mozart competition, which led to a recital at Carnegie Hall. In 2011, Elena received the First Prize and Best Performance of Baroque Music at The Piano Teachers Congress of New York and Second Prize at the Schubert Club Piano Awards. Elena performed at the Young Musicians Festival for two consecutive years and received the highest scores. Elena is a sixth-grade student at King School, Stamford, CT. She is an active member of the Math Team. Elena takes an active part in the King Children s Orchestra as a clarinet player and performs at different music events at school. Outside the school, Elena takes ballet and jazz classes. Kira Prabhu Kira Prabhu, 15, began learning both violin and piano at age 4. She currently studies piano with Dr. Joanna Chao, and violin with Izabella Liss. Kira is the grand prize winner of the 2011 Goldblatt Scholarship Competition, and the 2011 Concert Festival Concerto Competition Strings Division. In 2010, she was the 1st prize winner of the piano, and 2nd place winner of the strings division of the Wagner College Young Musicians Competition. As a Concert Festival participant, she has also performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. In addition to solo competitions, she has accompanied a children s musical theatre group, played in various orchestras, and at weddings, cocktail hours, churches, nursing homes and fundraisers. In her free time, Kira enjoys swimming, SCUBA diving, fencing, baking, and learning foreign languages. Kira currently is a resident of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.

3 CONCERT III - "Viva Spain!": The Spirit of Spain Guest Artist: Josu De Solaun, piano Josu De Solaun, piano As a First Prize winner of both the XV José Iturbi International Piano Competition and the I European Union Piano Competition held in Prague, pianist Josu De Solaun has been invited to perform in distinguished concert series throughout the world, having made notable appearances in Washington D. C. (Kennedy Center), New York (Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Metropolitan Opera House), Princeton (Taplin Hall), London (Southbank Centre), Paris (Salle Cortot), Leipzig (Schuman Haus), Taipei (Novel Hall), Mexico City (Sala Silvestre Revueltas), Prague (Nostitz Palace), Rome (Academia de España), Menton (Festival International de Musique), and all major cities of Spain. Since a young age, he has performed in Canada, Germany, Japan, China, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands, Chile, and Switzerland, as a recitalist, chamber musician, and concerto soloist, playing under conductors such as Yaron Traub, Max Bragado, Francesco Angelico, Theodore Kuchar, Constantine Orbelian, Ramón Tébar, Ormsby Wilkins, Yuri Krasnapolsky, and Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez among others, as well with orchestras such as the American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Monterey Symphony Orchestra, Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra, Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, Valencia Philharmonic Orchestra, Spain's Radio and Television Orchestra (RTVE), and Bari Philharmonic Orchestra of Italy. His performances have been broadcast on Spanish national radio, Czech national television, as well as on New York's WQXR and Princeton's WPRB radio stations. A native of Valencia, Spain, he is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he worked with Nina Svetlanova and Horacio Gutierrez, and from which he holds a Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate in Musical Arts. Other pianists who have mentored him are Albert Lotto and Edna Golandsky, who he still plays for. In Spain, where he studied until the age of 17, his main teachers were Ricardo Roca, Teresa Naranjo and Ana Guijarro.

4 CONCERT IV - "Worldly Adventures": Music From Around the World Guest Artist: Hye-Jin Kim, violin Hye-Jin Kim, violin Describing the artistry of violinist Hye-Jin Kim, Winner of the 2009 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, The Strad lauded her supremely musical playing, wellthought out, yet of the moment. Ms. Kim s sensitivity to the expressive and contextual components of the violin repertoire enables her to transport audiences beyond mere technical virtuosity, and this remarkable musical depth and passion led to her First Prize at the 2004 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition when she was only nineteen. For the season, she makes her recital debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on the CAG winners series, and she also gives numerous recitals throughout the northeast. As concerto soloist, she performs with the Tulsa Signature Symphony (Tchaikovsky), Minnesota Sinfonia (Vivaldi), and with the Pan Asia Symphony (Sibelius) in Hong Kong. A passionate chamber musician, Ms. Kim s collaborative appearances include Music at Menlo, Madison Chamber Music Festival (GA), Chamber Music at Gretna, Kansas City s Sunflower Festival, and a spring 2011 tour with Musicians from Marlboro. Ms. Kim has performed as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Christoph Eschenbach, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra led by Gerard Schwarz, as well as with the BBC Concert Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hannover Chamber Orchestra, where she led the ensemble in Mozart s A Major Concerto of at the age of 12. She has appeared in major venues throughout North America, Europe and Asia, including the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, Kimmel Center Verizon Hall, Salzburg s Mirabel Schloss and St. John s, Smith Square, London. At the invitation of Korea s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, she was honored to perform at the U.N. Headquarters in both Geneva and New York. Ms. Kim has also served as a cultural representative for Korea in Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan through concerts and outreach opportunities. In addition to her prizes in the CAG and Menuhin Competitions, Ms. Kim has also won the Philadelphia Orchestra Concerto Competition, the Virtuosos of the 21st Century in Moscow, and was awarded the Kay H. Logan Chamber Music Award. A rising force in the chamber music world, Ms. Kim s festival appearances have included Marlboro, Ravinia, Music from Angel Fire, and Prussia Cove s Open Chamber Music. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Paul Biss, Miriam Fried, Gilbert Kalish, Kim Kashkashian, Ida Kavafian, Jaime Laredo, Menahem Pressler, Mitsuko Uchida, and the members of Guarneri, Juilliard, Miami, and Orion String Quartets. Ms. Kim has served as concertmaster of both The Curtis Symphony Orchestra and the New England Conservatory Philharmonia.

5 Dedicated to engaging local communities to share her music, Ms. Kim strives for a more direct presence with audiences via more intimate concert appearances. These efforts have included concerts for public school students, performances for people with special needs, and frequent programs for senior citizens. Born in Seoul, Korea in 1985, Hye-Jin Kim began her violin studies with Dong-Hyun Kim at the age of 8. When she was 14, Ms. Kim entered The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, studying with Jaime Laredo and Ida Kavafian. She earned her Masters degree studying with Miriam Fried at Boston s New England Conservatory as a recipient of NEC s prestigious Emma V. Lambrose Presidential Scholarship. Ms. Kim plays a Gioffredo Cappa violin, crafted in Saluzzo, Italy in Beyond her musical activities, Ms. Kim is an avid reader of classic literature, with particular interest in the writings of 19th century British authors. During her travels, she has toured the homes and haunts of the Bronte sisters, Jane Austen, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and C.S. Lewis. Ms. Kim also enjoys needlepoint embroidery and spending time with her friends and family, both in Korea and the US.
