1. Inventory location management be.as includes a fully integrated inventory location management. Many types of stores can be managed. The visual display simplifies the use of inventory location management. Working principle: SBO stock location management has been extended to include inventory location management. The menu option "Master data" is available under BEAS / Materials Management / Inventory Location Management for this purpose. The store structure has been extended accordingly Store Storage area (e.g.: rack) Inventory location Taking into account location management as well, management looks as follows: Location Store Storage area Inventory location, which can be subdivided into Level Row Compartment An inventory location is unique per store, but is permanently assigned to a storage area. An inventory location can consist of 1 to 3 dimensions, e.g. Row or level+row or level+row+compartment The dimensions are user-definable. Inventory management has also been extended. Item Store location Inventory location Batch/series number RFID Inventory or for a single item Item Store Location Inventory location Inventory RFID is another user-definable ID (e.g. an RFID chip).
This is deactivated by default, but can be activated using Options / Material Management. Inventory movement log: In addition to the standard SBO movement log, a movement log is kept in parallel per inventory location for inventory location-managed inventory locations. 2. Integration 2.1. Integration into SBO SBO does not support inventory location management. However, existing SBO programs should not be replaced. Consequently, be.as uses the following procedure: 1. The entry is made as usual in SBO (e.g. delivery note, return, goods receipt, etc.). 2. The document is now displayed under "Open documents" in be.as - Material Managements - Inventory Location Management if an item was posted to an inventory location-managed stock location. This document can now be opened and the inventory location allocated Integration into be.as Inventory location management is fully integrated into be.as. On goods receipt, the inventory location to which the goods are posted must be selected in advance in managed locations for all entry and issue transactions. Activating inventory location management for a store Stores with inventories should never be activated retroactively for inventory location management. Doing so would require all entry movements to be recorded retroactively. 3. Activation 1. Create SBO storage location 2. be.as / Materials Management / Inventory Location Management / Master Data Select the storage location, edit, activate inventory location management in "Master data" tab
3. Create a storage area and the inventory locations assigned to this in the "Storage area" tab 3.1. Automatic inventory location finding There are different ways of location finding provided by Beas. This influences several drop down lists of available inventory locations in available stock transactions (goods issue, goods receipt etc.) Inventory / Initial inventory The first version of be.as inventory location management does not yet include a separate inventory function. However, this feature will be availabe in beas 2005 SP1 released in December If the inventory is performed via SBO, the entry document generated by the inventory is available under Materials Management / Inventory Location Management / Open Documents. This can be used to perform inventory location allocations Mobile input be.as inventory location management is ready for mobile input. A working solution will be available soon Store location Seting up a store location with inventory location management An inventory location-managed store location must be equipped with additional information. To do this, select an existing SBO store in the master data for inventory location management, and activate "Inventory location management" on the "Master data" tab.
For storage location coordinates, the dimensions of the storage location are stored in meters and a color is selected for the visualization. Then, the storage areas and their inventory locations must be stored. 4. Storage area A rack, a single storage position, or a high-level rack can all form a storage area. A storage area can have up to 3 dimensions (e.g. level, row, shelf) and and consist of any number of inventory locations. Any number of storage areas can be created per store. For visualization, you can specify the coordinates and color for each storage area. There are two views: 1. Inventory view Displays the entire store, together with the storage areas in the corresponding color at the corresponding coordinates - viewed from above (i.e., length x width)
2. Area view Displays a storage area from the front, i.e. length x height 4.1. Setting up a storage area ID for the storage area (must be unique throughout a Storage area store) Info Short description of the storage area If activated, nothing else can be taken from this storage Removal block area. If activated, nothing else can be posted to this storage Storage block area. Automatic creation No function so far. Type Storage areas can be allocated to types. Specifies the number of dimensions. Dimension 1 = level Dimension 2 = row Dimension 3 = shelf Dimensions These can be named as wished, but the names must follow the sequence above. If only a row is defined, and no levels, "1" must be entered for dimension, and "row" must be entered for dimension 1. Defines the maximum permitted storage volume. In addition to the inventory, be.as also enters and Max. volume issues the volume in the storage locations. However, there is no entry block when the maximum volume is exceeded in the current version. The maximum permitted total weight is stored here. be.as enters the weight in addition to the inventory. The Max. weight current weight utilization is displayed in addition to this in %. Type of visualization. So far, only "dimension 1 x Visualization dimension 2". Position from bottom Specifies the position of the storage area in the store left from the bottom left in meters. Width, length, height Specifies the dimensions of the storage area.
Color of area Color of inventory location This is visualization information only; it does NOT have to match the actual sizes. Defines the color for visualizing the storage area. Defines the color of the location. However, the color can also be specified separately on creation Inventory locations tab Displays the inventory locations created. Inventory locations can be created and managed individually or they can be created as a batch. For further information see Inventory location 4.3. Extended tab Use this tab to input a script for extended visualization of the storage area (storage area view). The object for visualization is called "vi" For more information see "Working with the visualization object" 4.4. Inventory location The inventory location is the smallest unit of inventory storage. An inventory location can be a palette location, a small storing area or even just a compartment of a shelf in a high-level rack at level x of row y. be.as allows you to store any number of different items, the same items of different batch numbers, or identical items with the same identification (the RFID) uniquely in one inventory location. In a transaction, both the volume and weight of the item are posted in addition to the number of units. A transaction log is also kept for each movement. be.as always posts in the unit of weight "kg" und volume "cm³". Where necessary, the units stored in the item are converted first.
In the current version of the software, there is no check to determine whether an item may be stored in the compartment of an inventory location based on weight, volume, risk class or dimensions. Corresponding rules are yet to be defined. You can define whether stock may be stored or removed for each inventory location, similarly to the storage area Visualization The actual dimensions and visualization coordinates can be stored in an inventory location. These do not have to match as an "equalization" or two-dimensional display of a three-dimensional storage area must be possible Stock removal and storage sorting A sort order can be saved for removal and storage. If you select an inventory location using the selection list, the sort order is taken into account. Automatic inventory location finding is not yet available in this be.as version, since there are many different rules yet to be defined Parameters of an inventory location Inventory location A unique identification based on the store Info Short text information Dimension 1-3 Up to 3 dimensions such as: level, row, shelf, etc. Length Actual length Width / depth Actual depth Height Actual height Deletion at 0 inventory No function so far. Removal block Goods can not be removed Storage block Goods cannot be stored Removal sorting Sorting for removal Stock storage sorting Sorting for storage Inventory Current inventory (can be the total of all units) Maximum permitted weight (previously only available Max. weight for information) followed by: currently stored weight in kg Maximum permitted volume (previously only available Max. volume for information) followed by: currently stored volume in cm³ Last entry Date of last entry - this information can be used to create a FIFO or LILO rule Color For visualization View bottom left Position of the inventory location based on the storage area. View length height Visual length and height. The specifications do not have to correspond to the actual size 4.8. Inventories tab This window contains the current inventories in this inventory location, including batch/series no., quantity, weight, volume, RFID (if activated) and date / time of last entry.
5. Creating an Inventory location If you have to create inventory locations e.g. for a high-bay warehouse, you can use the new inventory location creation feature to simplify their creation. You can access this function via the inventory location list, "New Batch" button You can execute a single operation to create all inventory locations and the inventory locations for a storage location, respectively, or the compartments for a shelf all at once. The corresponding visualization coordinates are calculated automatically using the stored information. Advantage of visualization You can tell: which inventory location is blocked on removal from storage: where is the selected item located on storage: which inventory location is already full 5.1. Special feature: Display three-dimensional inventory locations two-dimensionally For example, a high-level rack with level, row, compartment, where the compartment represents the third dimension that should be displayed in the second dimension. To do the trick: The shelf itself is not displayed, instead the external surfaces of the individual compartments represent the shelf. Shelf 1 Shelf 2 Compartment1 Compartment2 Compartment3 Compartment2 Compartment3 Compartment4 Compartment5 Compartment6 Compartment5 Compartment6 Compartment1 Compartment4 The shelf is discernible from the corresponding arrangement of the compartments, but you see only the individual compartments Parameters for creation Number of dimensions Stored in storage area - display only Inventory location Structure of inventory location identification - see screen screen definition Removal sorting Displays screen for removal sorting Stock storage sorting Displays screen for stock storage sorting Width, length, height Actual dimensions of the inventory location in meters Max. weight, max. 11 number Dimension 2 from / number Dimension 3 from / number Counter 1, counter 2 specified quantity (dimension 1 is always the Y axis) Create the inventory locations for each dimension 1 from dimension 2 and the specified number (dimension 2 is always the X axis) Create the inventory locations for each dimension 1 and 2 from dimension 3 and the specified number. Sample high-level rack: Dimension 1 = level = from 1 number 2 Dimension 2 = row = from 1 number 10 Dimension 3 = compartment = from 1 number 6 10 shelves with 6 compartments are now created for level 1 and 2, i.e. a total of 6*10*2 = 120 inventory locations. (Dimension 3 is always the compartment number) There are 2 counters that count up or down. These can be used e.g. for stock storage or removal sorting {COUNTER1} = Counter1, {COUNTER2} = Counter2. The coordinates are displayed on the right side One- and two-dimensional stores The green lines represent the storage area. The displayed rectangle in pink represents the inventory location. Height Distance (Y axis) Height (Y axis) Pos Y Pos X Length Distance Height of the storage area (read-only) Distance between the locations vertically Visual height of a location Y position of the location based on 0 point of the storage area on Y axis X position of the location based on 0 point of the storage area on X axis Visual length Distance between the inventory locations horizontally Using "Visualization", the storage area including all already created inventory locations is displayed together with the inventory location to be created (dark-red square) and the entire area for all inventory locations to be created (white area).
Use "START" to start creating and visualizing the inventory locations. If they are not created as you had planned, undo this process using the "Undo" button. When created, the first inventory location is created according to the stored coordinates and templates (inventory location identification/sorting). The second inventory location in the row receives the X position (X pos of the first inventory location + length + distance) If all inventory locations are created in a row, the next row is: (Y position = Y position of the first compartment + height + distance, X=X position of the first compartment), etc Three-dimensional store For three-dimensional stores: Dimension 1 = level Dimension 2 = row = the shelf Dimension 3 = compartment The coordinates of the third dimension are calculated automatically. The total area of the compartments provides the coordinate for dimension (i.e. the actual shelf) Only the number of compartments per X and Y is specified. Example: Shelf: Length 0.8 Height 0.5 Number of compartments: 10 Compartment per X: 5 Compartment per Y 2 The compartments would then be created accordingly Total length from 01 to 05 here is 0.8 m. Total height from 01 and 06 here is 0.5 m. Ensure that the compartments are created in such a way that they are well visible Display on the right side of the window: The green lines represent the storage area. The displayed rectangle in pink represents the "shelf". This rectangle contains dark red rectangles. These represent the compartments, i.e. the actual inventory locations. Height Distance (Y axis) Height (Y axis) Pos Y Pos X Height of the storage area (read-only) Distance between the "shelves" vertically Visual height of the "shelf" Y position of the "shelf" based on 0 point of the storage area on Y axis X position of the "shelf" based on 0 point of the storage area on X axis
Length Distance x y Visual length of the "shelf" Distance between the "shelves" horizontally (Input field on the right side of the dark orange rectangles) Number of compartments horizontally. If the quantity changes, the number for dimension 3 is adjusted automatically (Input field above the dark red rectangles) Number of compartments vertically. If the quantity changes, the number for dimension 3 is adjusted automatically 6. Goods Receipt (beas) Beas - Materialmanagement Goods Receipt Store: bin-warehouse Cursor in inventory location The inventory location can now be choosen from the drop down list. This list is sorted accordingly to the automatic inventory location finding function mentioned above. Alternatively the inventory location can be choosen from the grafic in the right part of the screen.
The material transaction can now be carried on as usual. To see the inventory location click on the orange arrow. 7. Goods Issue (beas) Also goods issues are done the usual way. If an item is taken from a location managed warehouse, all locations of the particualar item are marked red. Alternatively the locations can be choosen from the drop down list (sorted accordingly to the automatic location finding method mentioned above). 8. Incoming Goods (beas)
Goods receipt based on PO is also done the usual way. If an item is received at a managed warehouse, the possible locations are displayed in the right part of the screen (grafic) or can be choosen from the drop down list (sorted accordingly to the automatic location finding method). 9. Transaktionen with SBO In all material transactions made in B1are handled a bit different due to technical limitations. The workflow is als follows: 1. Create document (e.g. goods receipt bases on PO) 2. Save document 3. Assign inventory location See workflow based on a goods receipt as an example: Abb. Beispiel Einbuchung In this document 2 batch number controlled items are received at a managed warehouse. After assigning the batch numbers and adding the document, a window pops up.
In this pop-up window the inventory location has to be provided. By double clicking the line the inventory location and the quantity can be entered. It is also possible to book 1 batch at different inventory locations. Therefor the first quantity and the inventory location can be entered and after closing and reopening the window the second location can be entered (see pictures below).
After providing all inventory location the window can be closed by clicking the End button. 9.1 Open Documents If a document created in B1 gets closed without assigning an inventory location, the document remains open in terms of inventory location management. Theese documents can be viewed via BEAS Material Management Inventory Location Management Open Documents In this example the inventory location has not been assigned yet that s why the document is still marked as open. By double clicking a line, the missing inventory location information can be provided.
Please make sure that every transaction has assigned inventory locations. That means that the open document list has to be checked on a regular basis to make sure that every B1 transaction has assigend inventory locations. 10. Inventory list An inventory list could be created via Beas Materials Management Inventory Location Management MasterData inventory list. 11. Extended visual display Each inventory location is displayed as a "rectangle". However, you can use the visualization system to display any other objects such as rectangles, texts, and lines, e.g. via 'Storage area' on the Extended tab This tab contains a script window. You can use be.as script to determine the layout of the visualization. The object name of the visualization object is vi. The following graphic objects are available: rectangle line text ellipse roundrectangle A rectangle A line A piece of text A circle or oval A rectangle with rounded corners
The parameters for all objects are specified using "/" as a separator. All dimensions are given in meters. Decimal specifications are given in the national language, e.g. Germany: 7,6 USA: 7.6 Example vi=text=text=bin 1/y=0.3/x=4.6/length=0.2/height=1/font.height=-7/color=0 vi=line=y=0.55/x=0/length=4.8/height=0/pen.color=rgb(255,0,0) Text x,y Position from bottom left in meters length/height Length/height in meters background.color Fill color font.color (or just Font color color) text Text tag Command to be executed on click name Name of the object font.face Font type Font size.
