2 Corporate Wellness Makes ents One of the biggest challenges employers face is the cost of an employee and the morale. The cost of an employee goes far beyond their hourly wage but also includes their insurance costs, productivity and absenteeism. For example an obese employee costs 53% more in health care costs than a healthy one 1 and an employee with diabetes costs a staggering 81% more in health care costs than a healthy one. 2 Additionally, productivity increases in employees who get enough rest, exercise regularly and nourish their bodies properly. According to a NASA study, employees who exercised daily worked at 100% efficiency after 7 hours, while those who didn t saw a 50% drop. Like the biometric screening, this is used to compile data and develop a plan.
