1 Hosted Workspaces Demo Guide for Citrix Service Provider Partners Deliver a great hosted workspaces customer demo that includes Desktops-as-a-Service, virtual applications, file sharing and sync and Mobile Device Management.

2 How to use the hosted workspaces demo guide This guide is designed to assist Citrix Service Provider partners with developing and delivering their own hosted workspaces demo. The demo guide is based on Citrix best practices that are used in the Citrix Executive Briefing Centers and by the Citrix Service Provider Sales Engineering teams and is designed to showcase an end-to-end hosted workspaces solution that includes Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, Citrix ShareFile and Citrix XenMobile. It is generically written so that it can be applied and modified to fit any typical demo environment and it is not based on any specific environment variables such as user names, passwords, URLs or configurations. Partners will be expected to have a functioning demo environment and adapt this guide to their own specific setup and service offerings that they provide. It is organized in discrete sections (e.g. Desktops-as-a- Service (DaaS), MDM, file share & sync) so the demo components can be used independently or in combinations. A complimentary video to this demo guide is available in the Citrix Service Provider Center of Excellence. This video provides a real-life example of this demo being performed in the Citrix Executive Briefing Center. Refer to the Appendix for a full narrative script of the demo video. Section 1: Desktops-as-a-Service This section covers the key use cases and benefits for DaaS, including Hosted Desktops and Applications using Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp. It highlights how users can access either a complete desktop with applications or individual applications across any device with a seamless experience. Windows 7 Start the demo by logging into Citrix Receiver from a typical office device such a Windows laptop or a thin client. Discuss how users can access Receiver from any device or location and how they are no longer tied to any specific device or location. Launch a Windows 7 desktop and then open a variety of applications inside the desktop to demonstrate the full functionality and rich user experience. Typical applications include a rich graphics or 3D application like SketchUp, High-Definition video and a web browser. For a personalized touch, customize the browser to launch the customer s website and open a relevant industry specific application (e.g. Accounting application). Discuss how the user can access all of the applications they use today just like they did with a local PC including resource intensive applications from any location. Next demonstrate the smooth roaming capabilities by disconnecting (not logging off) from the virtual desktop session. Discuss that it is the end of the day, but the user has some additional work to complete after hours at home. At home, switch to a different device such as a personal MacBook and login to Citrix Receiver. Discuss that the virtual desktop has been running in your datacenter/cloud the entire time and the session will resume where the user left off. Click on the same Windows 7 desktop show how the desktop session smoothly roams to the new device. Discuss how all of the apps and data are just as you left them and you can instantly get back to work without having to reopen apps and files.

3 Next, move to a tablet such as an ipad. Once again, login to Citrix Receiver and reconnect to the same Windows 7 desktop. Discuss how Citrix touch-enables the desktop and applications since the tablet is natively touch-enabled. Interact with the same applications and demonstrate some of the touch features and how the user experience is consistent across all of the devices the user has. Mention that this can be done with all of the leading devices on the market (Windows, MAC, ios, Android etc.) If available, move to a Google Chromebook and launch the same Windows 7 desktop. Discuss how it continues to work even without a locally installed Citrix Receiver client, by using the HTML 5 Client. Highlight how this enables you to work anywhere, on any device with great performance and a great experience. Windows 8 Login to Receiver on an ipad and launch a Windows 8 desktop. Demonstrate how you are able to zoom in and out of metro interface, move tiles around and pull up the charms menu. Discuss how the native Windows 8 touch capabilities are able to be passed through to the tablet and the user has the full Windows 8 experience. Play a YouTube flash video that you have stored in the favorites or a Windows Media video. Discuss how Citrix address the H.264 encoding and offloads it to the ipad. Log out of the Windows 8 machine. Section 2: Hosted Applications Login to Citrix Receiver from a tablet device. Discuss how sometimes users don t need access to an entire desktop, instead just a specific application(s). This can be based on situational use cases (e.g. editing a file, submitting an expense report) or job function use cases (e.g. users role only requires them to use an individual application). Launch Microsoft Outlook 2013 from Receiver and open an that includes an Excel spreadsheet attachment. Next open the Excel attachment and demonstrate how the associated virtual instance of this application is automatically launched using File Type Association. Discuss how for instance, when a spreadsheet attachment is opened, Citrix recognizes the.xls file extension and automatically opens it in with Excel. Edit the spreadsheet by performing interactive functions like editing cells and charts. Double tap on a cell to bring up the keyboard and edit the data. (Note: Mobile policies must be enabled) Discuss how the user can interact with the application and keyboard in order to stay productive while using a traditional Windows application that has not been designed for mobile and touch experiences.

4 Section 3: ShareFile This section covers the key use cases and benefits for secure file sharing and sync using Citrix ShareFile. It highlights how users can securely access, share and sync their corporate data from any device. Begin by showing the ShareFile interface on several devices, highlighting the consistent user experience. Discuss how all of the user s personal work (e.g. My Files) and shared data (e.g. project and team data) is always available across any device. Discuss how ShareFile Synch on Windows and Mac can synchronize local files for consistent, offline access. Using an ipad, launch the ShareFile app. Show and explain how ShareFile uses connectors to access legacy file repositories like Share- Point and Windows file shares. Discuss the different types of Storage Zones that are available and how they control where data is stored, solving regulatory and compliance requirements. Browse to the contracts demo folder and download and edit a form that requires a signature and editing. Discuss the editing capabilities of ShareFile and the ability electronically sign the document.

5 Section 4: XenMobile This section covers the key use cases and benefits for Mobile Device Management using Citrix XenMobile. It highlights how users can securely access corporate data and applications on a mobile device. Begin by discussing the need to deploy and support SaaS, native mobile apps and traditional Windows apps, as well as the need to manage mobile & BYOD devices. Using a smartphone such as an iphone, open the Worx Home application and walk through the steps of enrolling the device. Discuss what is happening during enrollment and how Citrix secures the communication between the device and your data center/cloud. As the device is being enrolled and configured, call attention to the new Worx apps that are being installed. Discuss that the corporate policies and apps are getting pushed down to the device and what some of those policies do. Once Worx Web, Worx Mail and ShareFile have been installed, return to the Worx Store and add some additional apps. Discuss how you can access and add traditional Windows, SaaS and mobile apps. Optionally, open any of the new apps that you have added. Open Worx Mail and demonstrate how policies can prevent the user from copying and pasting or sharing attachments with non-worx enabled apps. Discuss the benefits of secure corporate compared to using the native ios app. Open an with a URL that points to an internal resource, such as an intranet. Discuss how Worx Web creates a secure micro VPN tunnel to the internal resource so that it can be accessed, without requiring a full VPN tunnel.

6 Optional integration of Citrix GoToMeeting Complete these steps before performing the remote wipe portion of the demo. Note: An existing GoToMeeting must already be running for this step. To save time and steps, it is recommended that you create a reoccurring GoToMeeting and calendar invite that is already in the user s calendar. Return to the Calendar in Worx Mail and open the meeting that includes the demo GoToMeeting invitation. Demonstrate how GoToMeeting automatically launches from the GoToMeeting icon without having to manually enter the meeting ID. Explain the use case for this, especially when on the go like taking a meeting from the car. Once you are joined to the meeting, make the ipad the presenter and share the webcam. Open a file (e.g. PowerPoint) from ShareFile and show how you can share it within the meeting. Remote Wipe Return to the device you enrolled. Discuss the use cases and benefits of being able to remotely wipe a device and the different levels of wipe (full, selective) and how only business and not personal information can be removed. Open the XenMobile management console and choose a selective wipe for the device Return to the device and show how the business apps are being removed, but the personal apps and settings remain. Appendix Demo script messaging for the Desktops-as-a-Service and Hosted Workspaces Demo Video. This script matches all of the demo steps and key talking points of the video. Please note that both the video and this script make references to specific devices, but they are not required in order to follow the generic demo steps outlined in the guide. Introduction: Hello and welcome to our executive briefing center. I appreciate you allowing me the time to show you this demonstration of how products such as XenApp, XenDesktop, ShareFile, and XenMobile can allow your business to be more efficient while at the same time, allow your users to be more productive by being able to work from any device and any location. Now I am sure you've heard a lot about how this can make your business and IT more efficient by taking all of these applications and desktops and moving them off of these endpoints and up into the cloud as a hosted service; while at the same time allowing your users to work more productively because they can now work from any device and any location. I am here to show you what this looks like and how it works.

7 Section 1: Desktops-as-a-Service I'm going to go ahead and get signed into this device. This is a thin terminal. It is a very low-cost low-power high-efficiency device and I can come in here and launch my Windows 7 desktop. You'll notice here that we have dual screens. We've got lots of different applications. Some of them are not very demanding, like a web browser or we might have something more complex like a 3-D application, or you may even want to watch a video. You can see here the quality of this video is extremely good. I can now come over here to my 3D application and manipulate this object and that it looks great. You ve been working at the office all day and maybe you want to go home now, but still have some work to do. So, we are going to sign out of this device or leave it open and go on home. Now at home, we have a different device. We have a MacBook Air and Apple device. I am able to launch the same desktop here. The desktop is actually running out in the cloud so, everything that I have been working on is going to follow me over to this desktop. I did not have to close all of my applications and save my work. I can just come home, get on my Mac and launch my desktop. Everything that I need is right there, just as it was when I left the office. I can still work on my 3-D model, my webpages are still there and I've been working hard all day; but I want to take a little break away from my desk. Unfortunately, I still have to finish my work, so I'm going to grab my ipad. I'm going to take that same Windows 7 desktop and it will smooth roam right over to this device. However, now we are on a tablet. This tablet has touch capabilities and I can still pass those gestures through to my session. As you can see, I can still navigate webpages or manipulate objects within side my session. You may also notice this desktop looks a little different. This is because it has actually been re-skinned for this tablet device. Many people working on tablets find that it's difficult to navigate around these Windows desktops. So, we're able to perform what we call a re-skin and provide a more touch friendly interface for the end-user. You can see now, my programs are a lot easier to get to and manipulate with my fingers. We're going to go ahead and sign off of this Windows 7 desktop. Now, I would like to show you something really awesome and cool and like totally the best thing ever. A lot of people are now moving over to Windows 8 and as you know, Windows 8 is a touch based operating system, and it turns out this ipad is a very touched-based device. So, what we are able to do to take all of those touch commands and we are able to pass them through this device and onto the virtual desktop running in the cloud. As you can see, I can pinch & zoom and move the tiles around. I can also drop back into the desktop. I can swipe in from the right and bring up my charms menu. This enables a great experience for the end-user. I'm going to open up a web browser now. We've got a link here to a YouTube video. This video is actually playing flash content. As you may know, flash does not typically play on an ipad. What we are able to do, is recode this video into an MP4 format, which is what an ipad normally plays. We are able to use the video processing power of this ipad to provide the end-user with a great experience. Now all content from this video is being played directly from this device. The end-users are going to get delivered great video and audio quality, and working on this desktop is going to be an excellent experience on this tablet.

8 Section 2: Hosted Applications So you have seen a lot of desktops, but you don't always need a full desktop. However, sometimes you just need to run an application. We are able to do this as well. We will go back to my MacBook and I'm going to go use Citrix Receiver to launch a very popular application; Outlook You will notice that the Windows version of Outlook 2013 is going to be running here on my Mac. This is because we are using the same cloud-service that we've been talking about. This allows you to run your applications on any device, from any location. Next, I am going to open my application. I have an attachment in this particular . In this case, it's an Excel spreadsheet. I'm going to launch that and when I do, notice that it launches the Windows version of Excel. That's because it's running on the cloud services as well. We talked a little bit earlier about using your other devices. So, of course you can use your tablet too. I'm going to click on Outlook on my tablet. It's going to smooth roam these applications over, just like we saw with the desktops. You are going to notice that we made this really easy for the end user. I can simply double-click on this cell here and I can edit the spreadsheet. Once I have done that, you will notice that the cells have shifted. I am able to edit the one that I'm working on here, make my changes, and away we go. I'm going to go ahead and close this out and if you look, you will see that we have our Outlook running too. I can scroll through with my finger. Now, you can see how you can make your everyday workflow a lot more efficient.

9 Section 3: ShareFile We have talked a lot about apps and desktops. Now, let's talk about File Sharing. You may be aware of a lot of cloud-based file sharing services out there, and a lot of your employees are probably already using those to make their everyday job easier. However, there is one problem with that. There is a lot of corporate data that is now being put up on a public cloud service, which creates very serious security issues. We have a solution and that is Citrix ShareFile. ShareFile will give you a lot of the same efficiency that your users are getting by using these other public services. However, it s enterprise ready and secure. So, let me show you a little bit of how that works. We're going to go ahead and look back at our device. You will see that we have a ShareFile folder and within that folder, we have a lot of different documents. All of these documents are stored up in the cloud service. Now, we're going to have the same folder on all of our devices, our PCs, our virtual desktops even our tablet devices. When you go in and edit or make changes to any of those documents, or even add a new document, it's going to be sync d across all of your devices. We can go to that next device and you'll be able to get the latest version of that file. It does a lot of things other than that as well. Let me go ahead and go back to Outlook and create a new . As you'll see, we can have some ShareFile related content here as well. We can do things like request the file, send a file or, send straight from ShareFile. I am going to send a file from within ShareFile. ShareFile will allow us to get to the data that we saw earlier. I am going to select a contract that we need to get signed. I'm looking in this folder (the contract location) and I see two contracts in the folder that I want to send, so I will click on those files and click okay. Now you can see both listed here but let's go ahead and create a link, these files have not actually been attached into the , they are going to be stored up in the cloud service and this link is going to be sent out to whomever needs these files, could be an internal or external recipient. This is important for a number of reasons. First, you no longer have to worry about the size of these attachments. They're all stored up in the cloud and they can actually be up to 300 GB. They are also secure. You can actually require the user to put in their address when they download the attachment, or even require them to use a password. Furthermore, you can expire these documents after a certain period of time. You can also expire a document immediately if you realize you have sent something confidential or in error. ShareFile also provides you with a notification each a time user downloads that attachment. Now, I mention that we also have a mobile application. So, let me go and show you that on in ipad. You will see that we have the same files and folders that we saw earlier on the Mac. But, we can also go in and get into some other things. We have what is called ShareFile connectors. These connectors allow me to access my existing network share drives that I may already have files stored, that I don't want to move over to ShareFile. We have connectors for other things such as SharePoint. Here's an example of that. We can open SharePoint, check in or check out documents. I'm going back into my files and folders and we are going to go ahead and find one of those contracts that we needed to get signed. Because we actually have full editing capabilities built into this application, we can come in here and click on the pen and go into this document and apply a signature. I have my signature already stored here, which will make it nice and easy to drop it onto the signature line. I can also enable my customer to sign this document, by doing the same thing. We can place the signature were it needs to be, save the file and send it to the software legal department. I think you can see how this could really make your file sharing more efficient and easy at the same time, all while being assured that the document is secure.

10 Section 4: XenMobile You ve seen a lot of mobile devices in this demo and they are becoming very popular. Many people want to bring in their own personal mobile devices, but we want to make sure those devices are secure and the company s data is still safe. So, I want to show you XenMobile. In order to do that, I'm going to go ahead and use this iphone that I have here for an example. I have already gone ahead and enrolled this device for you. This is very simple for the end user. They simply launch this WorxHome application and type in their address. It will automatically configure itself for them. It will push down these applications and they would only have access to these apps. I'm going go into WorxHome and show you how they can get to all of those applications that you saw earlier as well. I can come in here (WorxHome) and find the Excel application that we launched earlier, as well as my Outlook, and now add those to my home screen here on this Apple device. You may notice that there a lot of different applications here and one of those is called WorxMail. WorxMail is a secure mail application and this is very nice app for the end-user. It is good or even better than their native experience, while still keeping it very secure. You can see that I can sort through my different s, maybe have already read this ; I can swipe it up and mark it as read. I can come back into my normal view and I'm going take a look at this . It actually has a link to an internal website. Now, typically when you're away from the office, you click on a link within your that is internal and it will go nowhere. However, in this case, we are actually going to get into that internal intranet website. You will notice that it launched an application called WorxWeb, which is another Citrix Worx application. WorxWeb has a micro VPN tunnel wrapped around it, which allows you to get back into those internal resources within your company, without opening the VPN tunnel on the entire device (which would be very unsecure). As I shared with you earlier, we have both corporate and personal applications and data on this device. These two can't talk to each other as well. However, this is a personal device. Maybe this person is getting a new device, or leaving the company and we need to wipe out those corporate applications and data while leaving those personal applications and data intact. It's very simple to do. All we have to do is go into our XenMobile management console and choose what we call a selective wipe. This will send out a command to this device which will remove all of those corporate applications and data. However, it will to leave all of their personal applications and data intact.
