1 SD Lottery FTP Site Download Instructions Tools Required: A Computer with Internet Access. A Thumb Drive Step I: Create a Thumb Drive A. Insert Thumbdrive into computer. B. Windows browse to the Thumb Drive on your computer. C. Right Click in the Whitespace and create a new folder. D. Name the folder Release_Base. This will hold the DX Software. E. Go back up one directory and Right Click in the Whitespace and Create a new folder. F. Name the folder RTConfig. This will hold the DX configuration file. G. Go back up one directory and Right Click in the Whitespace and Create a new folder. Name this folder RTScript. This folder will contain files that the DX can execute from the Run Script button.

2 Step II. Download the Required software and configuration files. (Note: There are many ways to use FTP to download files from a FTP server. This document will present how to use FileZilla to download the required files and documentation.). A. FileZilla Method. 1. Download FileZilla and install it. You want to install the FileZilla client. You can download the FileZilla client by going to 2. Open FileZilla.

3 3. Enter The Host, Username, Password into FileZilla. HOST: ftp.state.sd.us, Username: lotdxinstall ( Ron Leidholt at to obtain the password) 4. Now click Quickconnect. 5. The connection process will be listed in the FileZilla frame below the HOST, Username and Password below. You should see a message from the FTP server stating Directory Listing successful.

4 6. Once you are connected, drill down on the right hand Remote Site frame in Filezilla to the SDLottery directory. Directories are listed alphabetically so you will need to scroll down to the SDLottery directory. 7. Expand the SDLottery directory. You will see the DX_Info directory.

5 8. Expand the DX_Info directory to show the release_base directory, the RTConfig directory, the RTScript directory and the Documentation directory.

6 9. Drill down into the release_base directory on the Remote Site frame where you should find three files: download.ini, dlversion.ini and dx_sdxx.tar. 10. In the Local Site frame expand the drive containing letter for your Thumb Drive. 11. Expand the 'Release_Base folder.

7 12. Highlight the three files on the right hand Remote Folder side and drag them over to the left hand Local Folder side. This initiates the download. 13. Once the download is complete, Windows Explore to your Thumb Drive and validate the files successfully transferred and are on your thumb drive. Warning: Do not open the.ini files with Windows. The files are in Unix format and Windows will automatically try to format them for Windows rendering the files useless.

8 14. You should still be connected to the FTP server via FileZilla. In FileZilla move up one directory by clicking on the unnamed folder in the Right Remote Site frame. 15. You should now see the four directories in the Right Hand Remote site frame of RTScript, RTConfig, release_base and Documentation. 16. Drill down into the RTConfig directory in the right hand Remote Site frame.

9 17. Drill down into the RTConfig folder on the left hand side Local site frame. 18. Find the master_rt_config file on the right hand side Remote Site Frame and drag it over the the RTConfig folder on the left hand side Local Site frame. This will initiate the download.

10 19. Once the download is complete, Windows Explore to your Thumb Drive and validate the files successfully transferred and are on your thumb drive. Warning: Do not open the.ini files with Windows. The files are in Unix format and Windows will automatically try to format them for Windows rendering the files useless. 20. You should still be connected to the FTP server via FileZilla. In FileZilla move up one directory by clicking on the unnamed folder in the Right Remote Site frame. 21. After moving up a directory, you should now see the four directories in the Right Hand Remote site frame of RTScript, RTConfig, release_base and Documentation.

11 22. Drill down into the Documentation directory in the right hand Remote Site frame. 23. Using the same method documented above transfer the Tech_Installer_Manual.doc over to your thumb drive. 24. Windows Explore your thumb drive to validate that you have received the file. 25. Disconnect from the State FTP server by closing FileZilla. 26. Test your thumb drive.
