16 Our Mission: To share the transformative power of music, through teaching and performing, and giving music generously when there is need. Established in 1985, Indian Hill Music serves as a magnet for those seeking a wide range of highquality music experiences and builds community among people of all backgrounds. We have created a vibrant and inclusive musical community of 140 professional musicians, 5,000 concert-goers, 1,200 students, 700 donors, 80 volunteers, and some 6,600 people engaged in our outreach annually. Our thriving community Music School offers music lessons in 30+ instruments and voice for people of all ages and abilities. Our faculty of 70 teaching artists have degrees from the world s top conservatories. The 70-member fully-professional Orchestra of Indian Hill is a critically acclaimed symphony. Under the dynamic leadership of Conductor Bruce Hangen, the Indian Hill orchestra experience has gained a reputation for outstanding performances, creative programming, highly engaging pre-concert talks and post-concert discussions, and a strong sense of warmth and community. Indian Hill also offers a full complement of outreach programming to the local community. Every year we provide $55,000 in scholarships for students who otherwise would not be able to follow their passion for music instruction. Additionally, we provide free monthly professional concerts in our recital hall for an intergenerational audience; a hospice choir; free concerts in the community; and deeply subsidized instrument lessons and free in-school concerts/demos in under-resourced public schools.
