2 The Print Production Server (PPS) is the core element for a variety of modules which are used for processing of data and output to different systems. Let it be optimal colour management for laser printers, multi-fuctional devices, digital printing machines or inkjet printers, even FM screening and colour optimization for offset printing or data convertson of various colour spaces - all this is possible with just one system. PPS will take care of the general set-up, management, calibration and profiling. - Colour management One of Print Production Server s main tasks is the conversion of varying colour spaces. To fulfill this, Print Production Server contains a CMM of the latest generation. This enables converting of diverse colour spaces of documents to the corresponding target gamut as highly accurate, taking into consideration of the printing industry s demands. - Profiling The generation of necessary profiles will be undertaken using the integrated ICC profile software. Besides standard ICC profiles, device link profiles can ge created as well. This enhances Print Production Server s range of applications to a highest possible extent. - Rasterizer The particular rasterizer of Print Production Server was optimally adapted to the single requirements. 5 Ink Optimizer Module The probably most uncomplicated way for optimum process conditions in offset printing Original Optimized Ink Optimizer This option will effectively optimize the printing process. It can be commercial/job or newspaper printing, ISOcoated or uncoated, the Ink Optimizer Module makes it easy and fast to reach perfect conditions to reach a stable print process. Colour reduction, as yet a pretty expensive proposition, from now on fits also into the small budget. The advantages of colour optimization are quite obvious: - Colour optimization will reduce the complete ink coating, thus leading to - shorter drying times - faster processing (cutting, folding, etc.) - reduced waiting times for reprints - less powder, by this fewer cleaning needs - better gray balance, therefore low colour variation - reduced adjustments/correction during a running print process - lowering of production costs With the Ink Optimizer Module of Print Production Server all these advantages can be utilized. It will optimize the colours of any element in PDF & PS documents. The document may simply be loaded to the queue by drag & drop, printer driver or hotfolder and within shortest time the new, optimized PDF or PS file is available for the following printing process. The example above clearly shows, how the same visual result with and without reduction can be reached although the chromatic colours (CMY) were extremely reduced. In this context gray component replacement (= GCR) is the magical process.
