IMPORTANT SECURITY INFORMATION We take your online security seriously. Your online banking site contains a security feature called Enhanced Authentication. Everyone will be required to enroll in Enhanced Authentication. When you are prompted to enroll, you will be asked to enter a Security Phrase and select/answer three different Challenge Questions. Additional information of these security features is provided below. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ENHANCED AUTHENTICATION What is it? A tool that provides extra protection for your online data and helps guard against fraudulent online activities like phishing scams (malicious requests for personal information) and identity theft. How does it work? In addition to your Logon ID and Security Code, the system recognizes your computer and usage patterns. If a questionable logon attempt is detected or after a set number of successful logons, the system will require you to successfully answer one of your challenge questions before allowing access. How does it protect me against phishing? When you enroll in Enhanced Authentication, you choose a Security Phrase. You will see this phrase each time you log on. When you see your Security Phrase, you can be reassured that you are logging on to your online banking site. If the Security Phrase is not what you expected, do not enter your Security Code. 1
LOGGING ON LOGON SCREEN Enter your Logon ID and click OK. SECURITY CODE SCREEN Enter your Security Code. After you enter your Security Code for the first time, you will be required to enroll in Enhanced Authentication. 2
ENROLLMENT ENROLLMENT STEP ONE Enrolling in Enhanced Authentication is a simple two step enrollment process. You will first be asked to select three Challenge Questions and enter the answer for each question ENROLLMENT STEP TWO Next, choose a memorable phrase and enter it as your Security Phrase. Do not use your Security Code as your Security Phrase. Each time you logon, ensure this phrase appears on the Security Code page before you input your Security Code. 3
LOGGING ON AFTER ENROLLMENT LOGON WITH SECURITY PHRASE After enrolling in Enhanced Authentication, you will see your Security Phrase the next time you log on. If the security Phrase is not what you expected, do not enter your Security Code. IDENTITY VERIFICATION Occasionally during logon, you may be asked to correctly answer one of your Challenge Questions in order to verify your identity. This may occur after a set number of successful logons or when the system detects a questionable logon attempt or change in your logon pattern. This is used to verify your identity. 4
SECURITY TIPS By employing some basic security practices, you can greatly increase the security of your personal and financial data. Protect your personal data Shred papers that contain personal information (such as credit card bills or bank statements). Never send personal or financial data to others via . Use good online security practices - keep passwords secret, updated, and use hard-to-guess combinations. Be aware of online scams Do not respond to messages that ask for personal data. Do not click on links in messages; you may be taken to fraudulent websites. Be very cautious about downloading attachments and keep your virus protection up-to-date. Monitor your financial activity Be sure to obtain your free credit report annually from the major credit reporting agencies. Review credit card and bank account statements as soon as you receive them. 5
FAQS What is Enhanced Authentication? Enhanced Authentication is a security feature that uses multiple factors to authenticate our Online Banking site to our end users and to validate end users when they log on to their Online Banking site. Why do we use Enhanced Authentication? Online theft is a serious concern among financial institutions, regulatory examiners, and end users. As the incidence of online theft has risen, financial institutions have been encouraged to implement multi-factor levels of authentication. Enhanced Authentication adds additional security to our Online Banking platform and will better protect our end users from falling victim to Internet crimes. How is Enhanced Authentication more secure? In today's online environment, fraudsters attempt to steal your identity by impersonating or spoofing web sites you trust. Verifying the owner of the website and your phrase protects you from accidentally revealing your username and password to a fake Online Banking web site. How does Enhanced Authentication work? When you enroll in Enhanced Authentication, you select a Security Phrase known only to you. Choose something that is memorable to you such as a cheer for your favorite team. Whenever you log on to your Online Banking site, you will see your phrase so you know that you are accessing your Online Banking site and not a bogus site. The phrase does not affect or change your Logon ID and Security Code information this information remains the same. DO NOT use your Security Code as your phrase. I share my computer with someone who has their own financial institution membership. Can both of us use the same computer to access our Internet Banking/Bill Pay site? Yes, you can register more than one end user s accounts on the same computer. Can I use different computers to log on to my Online Banking site? Yes. The first time you use an individual computer you may be asked to answer one of your Challenge Questions in order to verify your identity. What happens if someone compromises my Internet Banking/Bill Pay password? How will Enhanced Authentication prevent them from accessing my accounts with Internet Banking/Bill Pay? If someone tries to log on to your Online Banking account from a computer that you did not register for Enhanced Authentication, they will be challenged to answer one of your Challenge Questions. Since they will not be able to answer the question correctly, they will not be able to log on. Can I change the Security Phrase or Challenge Questions I established when I enrolled for Enhanced Authentication? Yes, you can change your phrase or challenge questions at any time from the Self Service page. I tried to log on to Online Banking from my own computer, and I m being asked to provide the answer to a Challenge Question. Why is this happening? Occasionally during logon, you may be asked to correctly answer one of your Challenge Questions in order to verify your identity. This may occur after a set number of successful logons or when the system detects a questionable logon attempt or a change in your logon pattern. 6
What happens if I get locked-out? If you get locked out, you will receive an error message that specifically states Your account has been locked. If you have a valid address on file within the online banking, the message will also tell you that an has been sent with a temporary Security Code. If you do not have a valid address in online banking, you must contact customer service to have your access unlocked. We recommend that you ensure that your address in online banking is always up-to-date. Below are the common reasons you may not receive an with the temporary Security Code. You have a spam blocker or some other type of control preventing the from being delivered. The address in online banking either does not exist or is not correct. Note: You can update your address from the Self Service page through Personal Options. If you do not receive an containing a temporary Security Code, you will need to contact customer service. Log in with the temporary Security Code. You will be asked to reenter a new security code and you may also be required to reenroll in Enhanced Authentication. 7
