SITE AND DATES 1.1 The seventh meeting of the World Area Forecast System Operations Group (WAFSOPSG/7) will take place in Lima, Peru, at the facilities of the ICAO South American (SAM) Office from 17 to 21 September ADDRESS AND CONTACT NUMBERS 2.1 The ICAO SAM Office is located at: Av. 2 WAFSOPSG/7-IP/ OPENING SESSION 4.1 The opening session of the meeting will take place on 17 September 2012 at 0945 hours in a conference room of the ICAO SAM Office. Since there are two conference rooms, upon arrival please check the conference room assignment for the meeting. 5. WORKING HOURS 5.1 Subject to confirmation by the meeting, the daily work schedule will be as follows: Monday: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: Friday: hours hours hours 6. REGISTRATION 6.1 Participants are asked to complete the registration form at Appendix A and send it to the ICAO SAM Office with a copy to ICAO Headquarters (attention: Raul Romero) at their earliest convenience, and to the coordinates listed below. Registration will be held on Monday, 17 September 2012 at 0900 hours. The meeting s registration desk will be located outside the conference room where the meeting is to be held at the ICAO SAM Office. To this effect, participants are kindly requested to complete the formalities in advance in order to obtain an entry visa from the Peruvian embassy in their country prior to departure. 7.2 Participants who may anticipate difficulties with immigration procedures should contact the ICAO SAM Office for assistance. 8. CLIMATE 8.1 In Lima, the temperature during the month of September ranges from a minimum of 18 C to a maximum of 22 C. The average relative humidity is 90 per cent. 9. EXCHANGE RATE AND CREDIT CARDS 9.1 The Peruvian currency is the Nuevo Sol Peruano. The current exchange rate is Soles S/2.67 per US$ Currency exchange should preferably be made through banks or authorized dealers. Visa, Diners Club, Master Card and American Express credit cards are accepted. Most stores and restaurants accept US dollars.

The ICAO SAM Office would be pleased to assist participants in making hotel reservations, if required. 11. In view of the fact that they do not belong to a company, they do not provide any safety or guarantee. 5 - 5 - WAFSOPSG/7-IP/ General recommendations in the event of an earthquake The city of Lima is within an earthquake area During an earthquake: a) keep calm; b) stay away from windows, do not go on to balconies and do not use elevators; c) locate yourself in a previously identified internal safety zones; and d) evacuate the premises only if conditions permit it, otherwise, minimize your movements After an earthquake: a) proceed to leave the premises, since quakes can continue; b) evacuation must be carried out calmly, quickly and safely through the indicated routes; and c) stay at the evacuation site until the designated security team of the building has verified whether the installations are at risk ICAO SAM Office: a) on the third and fourth floor in front of the elevator area are two emergency staircases. Both stairs end on the first floor of the building in the main entrance area; b) proceed down the staircases, do not push or run, stay in line, move in one direction only and keep conversations to a minimum; c) exit the building to allow free flow of other evacuees exiting behind you; d) once outside the building and keeping your back to it, turn left towards the evacuation site which is located across V.A. Belaúnde Avenue; e) pay attention to any indications of movement that the security team might make; and f) you will be informed when it is no longer a danger for you to return to the facilities.
