Also, positioning the workpiece is very easy, so the work to be carried out on the workpiece can be done faster, in a more rational manner and more safely

3 Rotators: simple design very easy to use and maintain VIROSAF rotators comprise two units: a drive beam and an idler beam. The two units are designed to rotate cylindrical workpieces weighing up to 30 tons. The drive beam rotates the workpiece and supports half its weight (30 WPF drive beam). The idler beam supports half the weight of the workpiece (30 FPF idler beam). All rotators are fitted as standard with: a rugged remote controller for varying the speed, rollers with a very strong polyurethane coating to ensure perfect driving of the workpiece, one or two electronic variable speed drives: the resulting range and stability of speeds allow manual and automatic welding using all processes, mechanical protection of the drive systems against impact, symmetrical adjustment of the roller spacing for rapid adaptation to the diameter of the workpiece Remote controller. 4 Rotators a range that covers all your requirements The VIROSAF range comprises a number of models which adapts perfectly to the varied conditions of use typical of industry WPV drive beam M: single drive version (only one roller is motorized) for workpieces with no or little imbalance, W: dual drive model (two rollers are motorised) for workpieces with significant imbalance, PF: model with symmetrical adjustment of the roller spacing in fixed increments by fitting pins into holes in the frame, PV: model with continuous symmetrical adjustment of the roller spacing by double-ended screws protected by a sheet metal cover for faster and more accurate adjustment. 15WPF drive beam 6FPV idler beam Technical specifications: Designation Drive beam Single Dual Idler motor motor beam Incremental adjustment of MPF WPF FPF roller spacing Continuous adjustment of roller spacing MPV WPV FPV by double-ended screw Dual motor drive beam. In dual motor versions, each roller has its own compact motor-gearbox unit. This solution eliminates a potentially dangerous transmission shaft and eliminates overloads on the roller gearboxes in the event of different roller radii or crushing of the rollers. 15FPF idler beam

5 The originality of the VIROSAF 2 For small diameter tubes (from 30 mm), the VIROSAF 2 MT (cat. no: ) is fitted with an arm with a pressure roller designed to prevent ejection of the tube. 6 POSISAF and MEMORAX positioners POSISAF 1E - 2E (up to 200 kg) Variable-speed motorized rotation and manual inclination. The indispensable bench-mountable small positioners for circular welds. They are high-frequency protected and so can be used with any welding process. POSISAF 3F - 7F (medium capacity: 300 kg and 650 kg) Variable speed motorized rotation and motorized tilt, fixed height. In these positioners, rotation and tilt are both motorized. An electronic variable speed drive and a DC motor provide rotation at a variable speed slaved to the armature resistance. The resulting range of speeds and speed stability allow automatic welding. A worm-wheel and lead-screw speed reducer provides a non-reversible drive. The fixed-speed tilt movement is limited by two safety end stops. The POSISAF 7F is controlled remotely from a 5-button controller fitted with a 5 m cable. The controller also carries the speed variation potentiometer. The POSISAF 3F has the controls on a unit fixed to the rear of the device. It is supplied with a footpedal (with a 3 m cable) for controlling its rotation. 7 Because downhand welding is easier than position welding, it is much safer, faster and more economic and gives a better looking result POSISAF 16B to 110B (general purpose, high capacity - up to 15 tons) Variable-speed motorized rotation, motorized tilt and manual height adjustment. These are true general purpose positioners because they provide three simultaneous movements: rotation, 135 tilt, pin-in-hole height adjustment. They solve most positioning problems. Remote control of speed variation is included as standard. The 135 inclination movement is provided by a large toothed sector. This system is the system of choice for safe handling of high inertia workpieces. A speed indicator is available as an option. Each model incorporates a rotary earth connector. The rotation movement, which is characterized by very little backlash, great stability and an exceptional range of variation, produces perfect welds using any automatic process. The time to execute any welding operation is made up of the welding time (10 to 40%) plus the workpiece handling time (60 to 90%). There is virtually no way to reduce the welding time, but MEMORAX can greatly reduce the workpiece handling time: a tap on the footpedal and the workpiece starts to move at high speed. The programming unit can store 8 programs, each with 40 positions (8 programs with 32 positions in the MEMORAX 7HVPV/18HVPV). This means that the welder can keep his tools (welding gun and mask) in his hands at all times and concentrate on his welding task. The MEMORAX range is simplicity itself and highly flexible to use: the positioners can be used for manual tasks such as tacking, polishing, fettling, assembly, etc. A box type workpiece can be tacked, welded, buffed and polished without removing it from the positioner. This saves a great deal of time and eliminates fatigue. Safety is also improved: workpieces are no longer handled, which greatly reduces the risk of injury.
