1 Board of Directors Brent Alexander (Bazinet) Managing Director, Professional Services and Public Sector at RBC Commercial Financial Services Brent Alexander is a Managing Director for RBC Commercial Financial Services. Based in Calgary, his portfolio consists of two concentrations: Professional Services focused clients, whose operations include accounting, legal, engineering and consulting services; as well as Public Sector, from Alberta Health Services, to municipalities and school boards throughout Alberta, with a concentration of those clients in Southern Alberta. Brent earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta in 1988 and completed his Masters in Business Administration at the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Having joined RBC in 1994, Brent has since held various positions both in British Columbia and Alberta. Brent is extremely active outside of work with the United Way on the Leadership Giving Cabinet and a City of Calgary board (Calgary Parking Authority). He has also previously chaired the Affordable Housing Committee at Hillhurst United Church and has been the #1 Individual Fundraiser for Betty s Run for ALS for 4 of the last 5 years as well as the top fundraiser for Kids Help Phone Line Walk-a-thon from From he was the Co-Executive Director of L.E.A.D.E.R. Project (Leading Education and Development in Emerging Regions),based out of London, Ontario, focused primarily on leading edge non-profit delivery of western economic and business skills in five former Soviet Republics. From he was an active board member with St James Community Service Society (and Foundation), in Vancouver - the second largest not-forprofit provider of supportive housing for those with a mental illness in Western Canada along with 7 other programs from emergency youth shelter and a Women s and Children s Shelter. He was their Acting

Apart from volunteer and community work, Brent loves to ski, rollerblade, read, cook, undertake home renovations, swim and run - and most importantly raise his two young sons who were adopted just this past July. Reid Henry President and CEO, cspace Projects Ex-Officio Reid has over 16 years of experience working at the intersection of urban, cultural and economic development. Through a range of consulting and project management roles across Canada and abroad, he has developed an approach to city-building that is multidisciplinary in perspective and collaborative in practice. Recently appointed as the first President and CEO of cspace Projects, Reid was formerly the Director of Art Spaces Initiatives at Calgary Arts Development. In Toronto, Reid led the cultural planning practice of Office for Urbanism (now Dialog) in various cities across Canada. Reid s work in non-profit real estate development was honed through his leadership in launching the consulting practice of Artscape, a leading creative urban development organization. Through this role, Reid undertook a diverse range of building feasibility studies, urban district planning frameworks, arts facility policy development initiatives and cultural/creative sector research projects. Reid s work includes the City of Saskatoon Culture Plan, a provincially-funded study of infrastructure for creative entrepreneurs
3 in Toronto, the City of Vancouver s 10-Year Cultural Facilities Priorities Plan, a downtown cluster development framework for the City of Kitchener; and an adaptive re-use strategy for a former distillery complex on Kingston s waterfront. Reid was also instrumental in building Artscape s national workshop program for communities undertaking mixed-use, creative workspace development. Through various leadership roles, Reid has developed an adeptness and agility to lead complex initiatives that have successfully activated local regeneration and reinvestment. He has project managed the redevelopment of an urban public market and initiated an historic main street program in Edmonton s Quarters Downtown, led a multi-year initiative to regenerate five inner-city commercial areas in Toronto focusing on cultural and creative sector development, and has consulted on numerous business improvement district strategic plans. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, he also contributed to the economic and labour force development framework for revitalizing Regent Park, Canada s largest public housing community. Reid has provided leadership at the Board level, overseeing the start-up of two creative sector non-profit organizations and chairing one of Canada s first non-retail Business Improvement Areas. Reid s life has become immeasurably more complex and rewarding in 2012 with the birth of his daughter, Maeve. Dean Koeller VP/CFO/CCO/COO, Calvert Home Mortgage Investment Corporation Dean Koeller is an energetic entrepreneur with a passion for understanding and building community, learning about human nature (our ability to overcome diversity and build resourceful and resilient human beings) and developing a customer focused business that can continuously evolve to the economic environments of the future. With an undergraduate degree in finance from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, Dean has been involved in the running the family business alongside his brother Dale Koeller and father Everett Koeller. Assisting in the managing of The Charitable Foundation of the Family ( whose objective is to provide financial assistance to families, students and individuals that are in need within the local community. The foundation focuses on individuals that would otherwise fall through the cracks of community services. 2. cspace - Dean is on the Board of cspace which is a collaborative community initiative to develop create and artistic space in the city of Calgary. A creative city is a city with vibrancy life and energy that will allow communities, businesses and our youth an environment to flourish. 3. Energy Insurance Group (CPIX Ltd.) Dean is on the board of an oil and gas insurance reciprocal committed to providing price competitive insurance options for small to medium sized oil/gas and service companies. With over 30 years experience, she has worked with diverse business sectors such as music and entertainment (Universal Studios), energy (NOVA Corporation, TransCanada Pipelines Ltd., Encana Corporation, Enbridge Inc.), transportation (CNR, CPR) and government (US Coast Guard, US General Services Administration). Redevelopment projects such as the conversion of a decommissioned church into an office facility in Amsterdam and an abandoned egg factory into a corporate headquarters in Berlin are examples of her unique and global development experience. Responsibilities for Calgary projects include being the design liaison for Encana in the development of The BOW, the Owner s representative for the development of the TransCanada Tower and the Program Manager of the ONE Project, the redevelopment of Fifth Avenue Place, for Enbridge Inc. Environmental responsibility, a core belief, began in 1992 when Susan was a delegate to the United Nations Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro; thereafter she was awarded a Development Education Award by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in recognition for outstanding contribution and commitment to

Accreditation as a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor demonstrate a professional commitment to the environment and supplement her credentials as a Licensed Interior Designer. Susan has extensive community leadership experience. Currently she serves on the Board of Governors for the Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD), the Development Advisory Committee for the Calgary Downtown Association and has served as a CSIP Assessor for Calgary Arts Development Agency for the past two years. David Watson Executive Director, Attainable Homes Calgary Corporation David Watson started work with the City of Calgary in 1974 in the Planning & Building Department, Long- Range Planning Division. He spent ten years in Planning in several positions and on a variety of projects including the General Municipal Plan, and the Land Use Bylaw and the Downtown Plan. In 1982, he was appointed as the Assistant to the Director of Planning. In 1985 he became the Assistant to the Chief Commissioner and in 1986, Secretary to the Board of Commissioners. In 1990 he accepted the position as Manager of the GoPlan project for a four year project that produced a long-range Transportation Plan for Calgary. In 1995 he was seconded to Canada 2005 Exposition Corporation where he was the Manager of Site and Theme working with volunteers and communities to prepare the bid, and then became the Chief Operating Officer for the final phase. He returned to The City of Calgary in 1997 as Manager of Corporate Consulting. In 1999, David was promoted to Director of the Human Resources Department Business Unit. In 2003, he was appointed to lead the Strategic Services Department (Human Resources, Information Technology & Communication Business Units). He was then appointed as General Manager of the Planning, Development & Assessment Department in November He retired in from the City in January In March 2012 David became the Interim Executive Director of a notfor-profit affordable housing company, Attainable Homes Calgary Corporation. He was a Board Member of the Calgary Olympic Development Authority and the Calgary Parking Authority. He is currently a board member on the Special Forces Pension Plan, Calgary Economic Development, Alberta Pension Service Corporation, and a graduate of the Toronto 25 DEP program.
