13 Office Technician Certification BOH-IM Office Technician Certification Requirements For State or Federal Aid Projects must: Current, non-expired MDOT Office Technician Certification on file Expire 4 years from date of certification Includes all similarly titled certifications Part of being Pre-Qualified for Road CE already

14 Local Agency Force Account BOH-IM Construction Oversight of Local Agency Force Account Essentially the original 1120 stays in the Project Files, maintained by the Local Agency. Local Agency must maintain original 1120 for auditing purposes. Copies of 1120 distributed per the BOH-IM

15 Buy America Required Documentation Step Certification for Pay Items and Materials that require Step Certification. Step Certification documentation is from company that affects steel/iron. Attention is directed to note list on step cert list. Pay Item List is available at: MDOT Website for Maps and Publications select Manuals and Guides

16 Buy America Minimal use of foreign steel allowed, greater of the following two values: 0.10 percent of total project cost $2,500 Payment is not to be processed until all Buy America certifications are received by the Engineer, includes stockpile payments Items not on step cert list do not require Buy America documentation

22 Paving - Concrete Concrete Pavement Repairs Maturity Method of Acceptance Beam Breaks with specified minimum flexural strength required. 28 Day Cylinders for acceptance of pavement repair not required. Better definitions Repair versus what is a Replacement.

23 Paving - Concrete Simplified the concrete patching mixture selection as follows, Less than 72 hours opening to traffic: Grade P-NC at 300 psi flexural strength 72 hours or greater opening to traffic: Grades P1 or P1M at 550 psi opening to traffic strength Note: MDOT Grade HE concrete no longer exists

24 Documentation Density Paving - HMA Proper documentation must be recorded. Temperature Needs to be recorded on load tickets. Calculations of Yield Many times a number is given but not the calculations that support it. JMF Written up for the project prior to the start of paving.
