2 CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY COLLEGE - HARNETT CAMPUS Nursing Assistant Level II Welcome to Central Carolina Community College - Harnett Campus - N.A. II Program This certificate program involves 80 hours of theory/lab and 80 hrs clinical experience. Upon satisfactory completion of the course and skills component students will be eligible for registry through the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a CNA II. This course requires a strong commitment from the student to make time to study and to prepare for each class session and actively participate in scheduled laboratory and clinical sessions. The college and instructors expect students to commit to excellence. In return, the student can expect to be trained to be a safe and competent nursing assistant. You will then be more than adequately prepared to sit for the State Competency Testing. The North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) is the entity that credentials all Nursing Assistant II s. It is your responsibility to keep the NCBON updated on your current address once you are certified. It is also your responsibility to maintain your Nursing Assistant I certification through the Department of Human Services. If your NA I certification lapses, you also lose NA II certification. It is very important that your NA I certification is kept current at all times in order to keep your NA II certification. The information contained in this booklet outlines the policies, rules, and requirements of the CCCC - Harnett Campus - Nursing Assistant II program. 7/10 lss 1
