5 Targeted Participants Stages 4 and 5 of the LTD will be the primary targeted thletes There are seven stages within the basic Long Term thlete Development model: Stage 1: ctive Start (0-6 years) Stage 2: FUNdamental (girls 6-8, boys 6-9) Stage 3: Learn to Train (girls 8-11, boys 9-12) Stage 4: Train to Train (girls 11-15, boys 12-16) Stage 5: Train to Compete (girls 15-21, boys 16-23) Stage 6: Train to Win (girls 18+, boys 19+) Stage 7: ctive for Life (any age participant) Snowsport cademy Focus Stages 4, and 5 provide elite training for those who want to specialize in one sport and compete at the highest level, maximizing the physical, mental and emotional development of each athlete.

6 Governance joint venture of a non-profit board of directors representative of each stakeholder group has been created. This group will direct the cademy growth and delivery model. Off snow training programs will be developed in consultation with the club coaches while tapping into local expertise as much as possible. The on snow season will be primarily administered by existing club/team coaches. Teacher support will be offered on hill and at vlearn to support online course work. Common visioning of all parties work to coordinate on hill group initiatives, including guest speakers, dryland workouts, coach training and ski instructor training.

7 Year Calendar single block ( or B) all year will be the minimum required commitment from participants. The common timetable creates opportunity for students to remain in their home schools while attending the sports academy for opportunities during single or B blocks. For example B block Tuesdays and Double B Block Thursdays all year long (freestyle). During Term 4 thlete training sessions will be scheduled for every Thursday during double block B only. From Dec 1st (opening) until pril 7th (closing) students will spend all day Tuesday and Thursday on the ski hill. Term 1 Sept- Mid Nov Term 2-3 Mid Nov- pril Term 4 pril -June Please note that the time table tumbles weekly. The logistic challenge of accommodating a training session that does not sync well with the semester schedule is best served by the above plan.

8 Pres/post season training occurs during the double block of Term 1 and Term 4 of the school calendar. 9 Winter cademy Schedule From opening day until closing day, Tuesdays and Thursday would be spent at Silverstar for all academy athletes. It is expected that athletes will be involved in their respective club training for the majority of these days. Cross discipline club training and opportunities for coach and avalanche training certifications will also be made available to students on those days.

Students will all be credited for a minimum of 2 high school courses during their participation in the academy including: Principles of Sport Specific training (Grades 8 through 12) Physical Education (8 through 12) or thlete training 10,11 or 12 Students will also have several options for additional training credits including: valanche wareness Ski Instructors coaching levels (CSI,CSI etc.) Sport specific club coaching levels. ny other online courses that will help build a personalized learning plan to meet the student needs.
