Our Managed Cloud Infrastructure Hosting solution provides everything from a single rack to a private suite or a custom-built solution with high power and cooling density. Adapt provides data centre infrastructure perfectly tailored to organisational requirements. 5 2 Data Centre Services As a leading provider of cloud and data centre solutions, Adapt maintains over 7000 sqm. of prime data centre space within the UK. Adapt delivers services across 7 floors of Global Switch 2 (GS2) and recent expansion has increased our capacity in Woking by 850sqm, Goswell Road by over 925sqm and GS2 by 450sqm. Adapt helps you to build the appropriate environment for servers and IT infrastructure including: > Caged private areas with a range of enhanced security, three-phase power and specific floor loading > Custom builds to unique requirements > Power density options from 2KW to 7.36kW per rack position Security is of paramount importance within all Adapt deployed data centres. We also recognise that security requirements must be balanced against your need for quick, easy access to equipment housed within the facilities. Deployed data centre services are monitored 24/7 by Building Management Systems and the Adapt Service Operations Centre. Adapt delivers world class data centre services from minimum Tier III standard bespoke built data centre facilities, our primary data centre locations include: > Global Switch 2, London Docklands > Goswell Road, London City > Braham Street, London City > Sentrum, Woking > Equinix, Slough > Cardiff Gate, Cardiff > Newport, Wales A specification overview of these facilities can be provided upon request and Adapt would welcome the opportunity to provide a guided tour of these locations. Adapt can provide up to 3.1MW of power per floor plate and deliver up to 7.36kW per standard rack Datacentre Racks Adapt s standard cabinets are 600mm x 900mm x 47U. Adapt recommend using these cabinets as customers can get additional equipment within the racks without power being a limiting factor until 7.36kW per rack is reached. Intelligent cabinets can also be provided have temperature and humidity sensors that monitor the local environmental within the cabinet. The Intelligent cabinets also have Intelligent PDUs which monitor the power remotely per PDU and the customer can power cycle the individual 2014 Adapt COMMERCIAL IN CONFIDENCE 05

6 power outlets on each PDU. Access to the environmental information and power monitoring is controlled through the Adapt Management Portal (amp). Each rack will be provided with 32Amp A & B commando sockets Structured Cabling Inter cabinet, structured cabling (fibre and copper) can be provided be Adapt. This cabling will be installed by Adapt s approved cabling contractor and includes patch panels and testing. At this stage structured cabling is excluded pending further design discussion with the customer. 2.2 Connectivity Our private highly available dark fibre network shown in the diagram below enables our customers to deploy ultra-reliable and resilient configurations of their IT infrastructure when located in an Adapt data centre. Adapt provide IP connectivity from a wide range of network and service providers. 7 With Adapt's inter site data centre connectivity as shown in the diagram above, customers can benefit from the diversely routed dark fibre network connecting our data centres, providing: > Managed 10 Gig Ethernet > Fibre channel 8Gb FC (for synchronous real time replication or A-synchronous replication) > Diverse 1Gbit/s over DWDM Onsite Carrier Connectivity As a market leading data centre provider, Adapt can provide multiple carrier connectivity options with all of the leading Tier 1 carriers. Current carrier and service providers include, but are not limited to; Adapt, Level 3, C4L, Colt, BT, C&W, Interoute, Neos, Cogent, eunetworks, Virgin, Thus, Kingston, Verizon, AT&T. 2.3 Intelligent hands Adapt offers intelligent hands services to provide limitless resources to all customers collocated in Adapt facilities. Designed to provide an always-on data centre presence, our service enables you to outsource routine support and maintenance with access to emergency support whenever you need it. Minimise the costs associated with dispatching your own IT staff to resolve equipment issues: our onsite data centre engineers are always first on the scene and ready to address hands-on needs when speed is paramount. Our intelligent hands services include onsite first line support and maintenance as standard and can be enhanced to include more advanced services to suit your specifications. 2.4 Management services Options services available extend the management from the environmental and intelligent hands right up through the infrastructure and application services. The service can be tailored to your specific requirements and is operated from our UK based service centre. 2.5 The Pod Approach A Service Pod is defined as A focused technical centre of excellence for managed service customers and the objectives of each Pod are: > To take ownership of a customer s IT environment and its issues; > To accept technical accountability for a customer s IT environment; > To act as an extension of a customer s business; > To act as a centre of technical excellence; > To act as a champion of service improvement. This approach provides a virtual team, comprising technical experts with knowledge of all key areas of a customer s environment Adapt COMMERCIAL IN CONFIDENCE 07

8 The Pod approach with a limited number of different customer systems managed within each Pod ensures a high degree of end-to-end understanding of the customer s platform. The members of the Pod will be involved from the design and take-on of the customer s managed infrastructure through to in-life support. This ensures better and more accurate response to service issues and a greater degree of problem ownership than would be possible in a traditional 1st/2nd/3rd line approach. Each Pod effectively becomes a mini-2nd/3rd line function for a manageable group of customer platforms. The Service Pod arrangement is in place to balance differing customer requirements and aims to provide a small team feeling to all customers (who would be usually aligned with a single Pod), with the benefits from scale and cover applied across the Pods. The Service Pod structure also has an additional benefit to Adapt s customers. The structure is infinitely flexible and expandable (based on the expansion of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers) without losing the customer relationship and knowledge based benefits inherent within the Pod structure. Expansion is achieved through either the addition of additional resource to an existing Pod or by creating additional Pods if required. There are currently 4 Pods based in Cardiff and 1 based in Leeds. A carefully managed on-call rota ensures that the right skill sets are available out of hours. Also, Adapt s knowledge of its customer s expansion plans and new business pipeline allow it to accurately predict both the number of Pods and individual Pod skill requirements in the Pod structure. With this knowledge, Adapt is able to seamlessly adjust the Pod structure without detracting from the superb quality and rapidity of service that it provides to our customers.
