Don't want bow thruster for this; confirm with bridge as going over manoeuvers. Multibeam sonar (RR & MV) Will operate some; not needed except for depth; use same system in September. Acoustic Doppler current OS75 available; will run. profilers Hydrographic Doppler sonar N/A system Knudsen echosounder (3.5kHz, t needed, except possibly for depth; use same system in September. 12kHz) 12kHz should be fine. Towed magnetometer Gravity (RR & MV) Standard Underway met & sea surface Request to run at 1Hz, not standard rate. Also request speed through water data (bridge Sperry speed log) -- feed not integrated in MET; is it separate? Expendable bathythermograph May drop one, as standard for EM122 SVP profile. Have software that you need for the cruise already loaded on computers you're bringing aboard, and make sure that their licenses allow usage without a network connection (e.g., MatLab). Ship data will sync to a centralized server every 15 minutes. One copy of the data will be given to the chief scientist at the end of the cruise. Automatic HSN-FBB satellite communication toggle for internet. May have mast blockage while doing octagon patterns. Will test NAVO downloads, accessed through FTP (contact CR aboard for access). te that some government servers will time out users on slower connections. September -- will pull file from an SIO server. Public terminals available; most personal laptops will not have Internet access. Certain websites will not be accessible from the ship. Please download any large files (software, scripts, papers, printer drivers) before arriving at the ship. Printers: HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn, HP Color LaserJet CP6015dn, HP DesignJet 1055CM. Need FTP; contact CR member aboard.

September: will have some green card holders (ensure they have passports and documents with them), and someone from Singapore Navy may visit but not go on cruise. Please notify SIO ahead of time. Put out notice to advise other traffic in area; may have LA north-south traffic. Please see the SIO website for details. Identify lat/lon and opposite corners of box working in. Will go to Coast Guard. MET.ACQ adjustments to record at 1Hz. Log UDP of F-185 (on a private network with MRUs); computer collecting this data will also collect MET data. Easiest to have science party have 2-NIC computer to obtain both feeds. Speed log from bridge feed requested. Would like to look at recovery small boat to obtain measurements. Additional Requirements Arrive 6/4 to install equipment. See how data collection can work with MET, especially F-185. Wind (speed, direction), sea temp, ship speed through water, all F-185 output for motion. Will install POSMV 320 topside. Envision only using Main Lab; currently log separately from MET or serial1. Z-drive recorder in control panel in Main Lab, collects RPMs and angles. Operate at vicinity of buoy (off Imperial Beach?), operate Z-drive at various speeds and angles to calibrate Z-drive recorder. Drive at a fixed speed/angle for a minute or so. Step up speed/angle independently. Request MET.ACQ at 1Hz, as opposed to slower. Will take UDP from F-185 (MCOM) at 100Hz (not on MET). Request WaMoS data at normal rate/format. Request >5 degrees of ship movement to get a better idea of how IMUs work. Drive in an octagon pattern (10 minutes each side). In September: 3kts to 10-11kts. Request to be at sea when pass through 0000 UTC (1700 PDT). Can pull in at 1900 PDT on the same day as departure. If arrive later (e.g., 2200), there will only be one line handler ashore; can return at any time as long as captain deems it possible.
