1 KRIS L. MASER Shareholder and Attorney at Law Kris L. Maser, shareholder and Elder Law Department chair for Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A. is a caretaker by nature. I ve been taking care of people since I was 16, she says, adding that she helped her father through a 26-year battle with Parkinson s disease and also assists her elderly mother in living as independently as possible. She says it s her caretaking trait that propelled her to work in elder law. I started out as a teacher, but this was just a pull, Maser says. Since co-founding the firm in 1984, she has served as a dedicated advocate for the elderly and their families, through assisting in estate planning, medical assistance planning, planning for incapacity, conservatorship and guardianship issues, and related issues pertaining to wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives. Her dedication to clients and vigorous representation of their rights, has earned her prominent recognition. Maser has been named in statewide surveys to the Minnesota Super Lawyers list and ranked as one of the top Minnesota Women Super Lawyers by Minnesota Law and Politics and Mpls.St. Paul Magazine. After decades of service to families, Maser says that her resolve for her work was strengthened even more when she was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer made me realize that you can t go through a long-term illness alone, she says, adding that this perspective permeates her work on the job. Nobody stands alone. To Maser, being connected to her clients in such a supportive way is the best part of her job. The second best part is turning the terror into something that can be useful, she says. In one touching case, Maser recalled that she helped a couple with their end of life planning and 17 years later, after they had passed away, the couple s family members flew in town to thank her. I m not just an attorney to them, she says. adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law. She also participates in several continuing education seminars for attorneys, social workers, families, and others. Maser, who is fluent in German, is also a frequent lecturer, both locally and nationally, on a variety of elder law matters. She co-authored of Minnesota Conservatorship Standards, adopted by the Minnesota Association of Guardianship and Conservatorship and in 1996, she received the Mary Alice Gooderl Award for outstanding service and active development of the Minnesota State Bar Association s (MSBA s) Elder Law Section. Maser received her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1982 and her undergraduate degrees from the University of Minnesota in She belongs to the state, county, and national bar associations, as well as the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Maser is also involved with a number of charitable and community organizations including the National Parkinson s Foundation Minnesota Chapter and the Normandale Center for Healing and Wholeness. Maser is also a Rotarian. In 2008, the University of Minnesota s College of Liberal Arts recognized Maser as an Alumna of Notable Achievement. The college recognition saluted Maser as an early champion of elder law, who has increased awareness of the issues surrounding legal services for the elderly and is widely admired for outstanding service to the community. When she s not working, Maser is an avid skier and enjoys spending time with her family. Despite a switch to the legal profession, Maser has stayed connected to her roots in education. She has served as an

2 LUTHER M. AMUNDSON Shareholder and Attorney at Law Luther M. Amundson, managing shareholder of Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A., leads the firm s Litigation Department. He is known in the legal community for his vigorous pursuit of his clients legal rights and his tenacious quest for fair compensation for those he represents. A successful litigator, Amundson concentrates his practice in areas of elder law, including will contests, trust administration, guardianships, conservatorships, wrongful death, probate law, and significant personal injury matters. Since 1995, Amundson has been named in statewide surveys to the Minnesota Super Lawyers list in Minnesota Law & Politics and Mpls. St. Paul Magazine. Amundson says that he s passionate about his work for the older generation, because of his inspiring clients. One thing that makes me want to do this work is that their experiences are incredible, he says, adding that he s developed bonds with clients who bravely survived World War II and the Great Depression of the 1930s. I love this generation, he says. But Amundson has also formed important connections with other clients as well, such as baby boomers addressing their litigation concerns, and representing a survivor of the Minneapolis I-35W bridge collapse in Amundson says that it s gratifying to make a difference in peoples lives. Amundson is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Minnesota Association for Justice (MAJ), and the State and County Bar Associations. He served on the MAJ Board of Governors from 1996 to A 1982 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, Amundson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota State Court, Federal District Court, and is a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of practice. When he s not at work, Amundson enjoys spending time camping and hiking with his family, and loves photographing and spending time with his two sons. For 10 years, Luther chaired the Annual National Parkinson s Foundation Minnesota Chapter golf tournament, which is the sole fundraiser for the Parkinson s Respite Care Grant Program.

3 RANDY F. BOGGIO Shareholder and Attorney at Law Randy F. Boggio is shareholder for Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A. and is known for representing clients in all areas of long-term care planning. He enjoys working with individuals, couples and their families to ensure resources are protected and maximized for their benefit when faced with nursing home placement. Boggio also represents disabled clients and their families in establishing and administrating of Supplemental and Special Needs Trusts. He works with personal injury attorneys to assure protection of settlement awards and jury verdicts for disabled clients through settlement planning, as well as working with probate and family law attorneys to provide trusts that protect estate distributions and property settlements. in Martindale-Hubbell, a national legal directory. The AV rating is the highest possible rating an attorney can achieve and recognizes a lawyer with very high preeminent legal ability and the utmost professional integrity. Boggio achieved his law degree from Hamline University School of Law in 1983 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in He belongs to the State Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Minnesota Association for Justice, as well as the Academy of Special Needs Planners. Boggio has been named to the Minnesota Super Lawyer s list since 1998, featured in Minnesota Law and Politics, Twin Cities Business, and Mpls. St. Paul Magazine. Only five percent of Minnesota attorneys make the Super Lawyer list each year. He has also been recognized as one of the Top 40 Trust and Estate Attorneys in Minnesota by Minnesota Law and Politics. Boggio has been recognized with the Mary Alice Gooderl Award by the Elder Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association for outstanding service to the community in the area of Elder Law. He has received an AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5 rating Boggio frequently lectures on issues regarding long-term care planning, supplemental and special needs trusts and disability planning, and has published numerous articles for Minnesota Continuing Legal Education. In his free time, Boggio enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons attending their swim meets, football games and lacrosse matches. He is also a Corvette enthusiast and proud owner of a 1991 (C-4) Corvette.

4 PETER M. HENDRICKS Shareholder and Attorney at Law Peter M. Hendricks is shareholder for Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A. and is known for his representation of clients in estate planning, probate and trust administration, supplemental and special needs trusts and elder law. Hendricks works with a wide variety of clients, from modest to sophisticated estate planning needs, as well as couples and individuals developing and implementing a personal estate plan to distribute assets appropriately and to minimize taxes and post-death administrative expenses. He enjoys working with individual clients and realizes they are often faced with immediate concerns. He frequently presents at Continuing Legal Education seminars on Medical Assistance estate recovery and estate planning topics. He has also authored material on Medical Assistance estate recovery for the Minnesota CLE Elder Law Handbook. He has successfully represented clients in several estate recovery cases throughout Minnesota. Hendricks earned his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in 2004 after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine in Hendricks has served as a law clerk with the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis Senior Law Project and the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Hendricks belongs to the Minnesota and Ramsey County Bar Associations and serves on the Ramsey County Charter Commission. He also served on the Budget Finance Advisory Committee for St. Paul Public Schools from 2008 to A native Californian, Peter has called St. Paul home for over 17 years. He enjoys traveling, the outdoors and bicycling with his wife, daughter and son.

5 ALLISON J. FRASIER Associate Attorney Allison J. Frasier is an associate attorney in Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A. s Elder Law Department. She first joined the team in 2006 as a law clerk. She practices and counsels clients in the areas of elder law issues, such as medical assistance planning, veterans aid and attendance benefits, estate planning, asset preservation, planning for incapacity, guardianships and conservatorships, as well as probate matters. Frasier received her law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, from Carleton College. She spent a semester of law school helping to provide legal services to seniors as a member of the Elder Law Practice Group, a section of the Interprofessional Center for Counseling and Legal Services at the University of St. Thomas. This experience ultimately led her to pursue a career in elder law. experience in her own life of helping to care for a disabled family member, she can relate to many issues that her clients face on a personal level. Frasier is an accredited attorney for veterans aid and attendance benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs. She is also a member of the Minnesota Bar Association s Elder Law Section, and of the Minnesota Association for Guardianship and Conservatorship (MAGiC). She is licensed to practice in Minnesota State Court and is a frequent speaker on elder law issues. In her free time, Frasier is a busy mom of two children and enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, two cats and one dog. When not immersed in mom duties, she enjoys gardening and photography. Frasier enjoys counseling clients through what can be very complicated and emotional issues. Through the

6 MARIT A. PETERSON Associate Attorney Marit A. Peterson an associate attorney at Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A. represents clients in long-term care planning, elder law, estate planning, probate and trust administration, and in the creation of supplemental and special needs trusts. She enjoys assisting individuals and families to protect their resources for the future. Peterson s goal is to provide sound legal advice; and to assist clients in understanding what can be a complicated and confusing planning process. This includes delivering advice in a comprehensible and compassionate way, learning about client s goals and answering their questions directly. with Wills for Heroes an organization that provides important estate planning documents free-of-charge to first responders. She graduated from Hamline University School of Law in 2008 as a Dean s Scholar and student editor on the Journal of Law and Religion. Peterson loves living in Minnesota and looks forward to winter. She enjoys cross-country skiing with her husband and son. She is currently an adjunct professor of philosophy at Augsburg College, where she teaches ethics in the Augsburg for Adults program. She also volunteers

7 BRENNA M. GALVIN Associate Attorney Brenna Galvin is an associate attorney in Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A. s Elder Law department. She practices in the areas of estate planning, veterans benefits, medical assistance, and disability planning, including Supplemental and Special Needs Trusts. She provides resources that enhance her clients quality of life and gives her clients and their families comfort in knowing that they have planned for the worst, so they can live their best. Brenna draws her inspiration from years of working with individuals with disabilities. Her work with elderly and individuals with disabilities through the Disability Law Center in Minneapolis prompted her to choose a law career because she saw a need for good advocates and planners. Brenna is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law, where she served as an officer in the Elder Law and Estate Planning Society. She was also a member of the William Mitchell Center for Elder Justice and Policy and a student member of the Elder Law Governing Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Brenna was a rower for the University of Minnesota Women s Rowing Team. She loved the challenge, the hard work, and the teamwork required for the sport. Brenna is still very active and loves to bike, CrossFit, roam the local Farmer s Markets, and cook. On the weekends, Brenna can usually be found cuddling with her dog, Milo, with a book and big cup of coffee in hand.

8 DANA JOSEPH Associate Attorney Dana Joseph is a litigation associate attorney at Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A. with a focus on will contests, contested guardianships and contested conservatorships. Dana enjoys helping clients solve their problems. She loves the thrill of knowing that what she accomplishes in the courtroom really matters to them. Prior to joining Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, she held a judicial clerkship within Minnesota s 8th Judicial District, where she completed research and wrote orders for Judge Jerry Siebel and Judge Charles Glasrud. Dana earned her Bachelor s degree in political science and a minor in sociology from the College of St. Benedict and St. John s University. She earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from William Mitchell College of Law, where she participated in the Mitchell Fellow Program and made the Dean s List. While in law school, Dana served as a volunteer within the Minnesota Justice Foundation, coaching debate teams in urban schools to help young people better their speaking and organizational skills. Dana enjoys long distance running, reading and cooking.

9 ROXANNE CORNELL Life Care Coordinator Roxanne Cornell is life care coordinator with Maser, Amundson, Boggio & Hendricks, P.A., addressing the social, physical and emotional aspects of clients lives. She believes in the firm s commitment to providing a forward-thinking, holistic look at life care planning for seniors in addition to essential elder law and estate planning. Roxanne likes being on the forefront of change in how people look at aging and life care planning. She is a skilled family mediator and negotiator who goes into clients homes to assess what s going on in their lives and then works with attorneys within the firm to create life care plans for those families. She also serves as the firm s community liaison to senior care service organizations and businesses in the Twin Cities. Roxanne has a Bachelor of Arts in Counseling and Human Services from Metropolitan State University and a Masters of Clinical Social Work from St. Catherine University - University of St. Thomas. She also holds a Certificate from the Chemical Dependency Specialist Training Program of Minneapolis Community & Technical College. Since 1986, Roxanne has worked in the social services/human services field, with the exception of a five-year hiatus when she owned and operated a home remodeling business. She has served as a mental health therapist for Chrysalis (now part of Tubman s Chrysalis Center), managed social service programs and supervised social workers and interns who were working towards their social work license. Roxanne s commitment to client service is reflected in her career history as a three time Angie s List Super Service Award winner. When not caring for families, she practices yoga and enjoys biking, gardening and being in nature.
