7 About this Manual INTRODUCTION This manual explains how to install, set up, and use the TRAKPRO Data Analysis Software version TRAKPRO is intended for use with a variety of TSI data logging instruments. (To see a list of supported logging instruments, refer to Viewing Supported Logger Models in chapter 3 of this manual.) Organization This manual is organized as follows: Chapter Description 1 Gives an overview of TRAKPRO functions and features. 2 Gives step-by-step instructions for installing TRAKPRO and describes how to get started using the software. 3 Describes how to set logger options to customize tests. 4 Describes basic data file management. 5 Describes how to create and modify graphs. 6 Describes how to print reports. 9 Chapter 1 Overview Introduction TRAKPRO is a Windows-based application that works with a variety of TSI data logging instruments. This chapter briefly presents the tasks you can perform using TRAKPRO: Programming a logging instrument. Receiving and managing test data. Graphing test data. Printing reports. For detailed information on your logging instrument, refer to the manual that accompanies the instrument. Programming a Logging Instrument TRAKPRO provides options that allow you to program the following logging instrument parameters: Menu of available logging intervals. The logging interval used in LOG 1 mode must be selected from a list of five preprogrammed values. This list can be reprogrammed using TRAKPRO. Menu of available time constants. The instrument time constant must be selected form a list of five preprogrammed values. This list can be reprogrammed using TRAKPRO. Logger date and time. TRAKPRO allows you to program the date and time value stored in the logging instrument. LOG 2 and LOG 3 Modes. The logging instrument has three different logging modes: LOG 1 mode, LOG 2 mode and LOG 3 mode. LOG 1 mode is a manual mode where the instrument logs all channels and sampling must be manually started and stopped. LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes can be customized and set up for unattended sampling. 1

10 Receiving and Managing Test Data Once a test sample has been stored in the logger instrument memory, you can download the data to your computer using TRAKPRO. All test data is automatically identified by the following: Model number of the logger. Serial number of the logger. Time and date of the test. Channels logged. Unique test ID number for each test. Once you have downloaded a test, TRAKPRO allows you to further identify each test by providing the following: A short abbreviation that can be used to identify data on graphs. A summary that describes the test. Multiple tests can be stored in one file, and you can add tests to an existing file. Graphing Test Data TRAKPRO graphing options allow you to quickly analyze test samples. Graph options include: Single- and multi-channel graphs. A single-channel graph allows you to simultaneously display from one to six tests of the same type (channel). For example, you can display the CO 2 channel from multiple tests on the same graph. With a multi-channel graph, you can simultaneously display any combination of up to six channels from any single test in the file. For both single- and multi-channel graphs, you can display the channels in real time or overlay the channels for comparison. Linear and log graphs. By default, TRAKPRO calculates the y-axis values that best display each channel on a linear graph. For data that may vary by orders of magnitude, you can display the data in a log graph. Automatic and manual scaling. By default, graph data is displayed using automatic scaling. That is, the high and low values along the y-axis are automatically calculated. When you select manual scaling, you can enter the high and low values. 2 Chapter 1

11 Legends and markers. By default, each of the possible six channels in a graph are identified by a unique color. You can also identify each channel with a legend either a pre-defined legend or a user-defined legend. For non-color displays and printers, TRAKPRO can also use a unique marker for each channel to distinguish one channel from another. You can choose to display or not display the markers. Printing Reports With the TRAKPRO report-generating feature, you can print test data and statistics. You can also customize printed reports for graphs and associated graph data. Once you download or open a data file, the print options include: Current graph. You can print the graph currently displayed on the screen. Test data. You can print the test data, which includes the values for each logged data point for all channels in the test, along with the date and time at which each occurred. Test statistics. For each channel in the test, you can print the average, minimum, and maximum values, as well as the date and time at which the minimum and maximum values occurred. Once you create or open a graph, the print report option includes: Graph. You can print the current view of the graph. Graph data. For each channel on the graph, you can print the associated data. The data includes the date, time, and value for each logged data point. Graph statistics. For each channel on the graph, you can print a summary of the statistics. The statistics include the average, lowest, and highest logged data points, along with the date and time at which the lowest and highest points occurred. Overview 3

12 Test summary. For each channel on the graph, you can print the test summary associated with that channel. Calibration data. For each channel on the graph, you can print the date and time of the last calibration. You can also define a header to be printed on each page of the report, as well as specifying the orientation portrait or landscape for the graph. 4 Chapter 1

13 Chapter 2 Getting Started Introduction This chapter describes the following: Installing TRAKPRO. Starting and ending TRAKPRO. Using the TRAKPRO main window. Using menu options. Using toolbar buttons. Connecting the logger to your computer. Setting up the logger communications port. Installing TRAKPRO To install TRAKPRO, you need the following: Minimum Hardware Requirements 386 PC 2 megabytes RAM VGA display hard disk drive floppy disk drive Minimum Software Requirements MS-DOS 3.01 (or higher) MS Windows 3.0 (or higher) TRAKPRO release diskette. (TRAKPRO is released on a 3 1/2-inch diskette. If necessary, call TSI for a free 5 1/4-inch release diskette.) Installation Procedure To install TRAKPRO: 1. Insert the release diskette into an available drive. 2. At the DOS prompt, enter the letter of the drive that contains the release diskette and the install command. For example, if the release diskette is in drive A:, enter: a:install R 3. Select drive. 4. Select directory. The install program will automatically create a program group and TRAKPRO icon. 5

14 Starting and Ending TRAKPRO To start TRAKPRO: 1. Select the TSI products group icon. 2. Select the TRAKPRO application icon. The TRAKPRO main window is displayed. OR 1. Change to the directory in which TRAKPRO is installed. 2. Enter the following at the DOS prompt: win trakpro R To end TRAKPRO: Select Exit from the File menu. Using the TRAKPRO Main Window The following figure shows the TRAKPRO main window: The numbered areas of the main window are described below: 1 Main menu bar. 2 Toolbar. 3 List of tests in the current data file. The highlighted test is the current test. To make a test the current test, move the highlight to the test you want to select using either the mouse or the arrow keys. 6 Chapter 2

15 4 Displays information about the current test. You can change the Abbreviation and Summary information at any time by entering new text and selecting the Update button. 5 Displays the channels logged for the current test. 6 Updates information for the current test. Using Menu Options The TRAKPRO main window provides the pull-down menus described in the following table. You can select a menu option using either the mouse or the keyboard: To select an item using the mouse, move the cursor to the menu and click the left mouse button. Then, click on the menu option you want to select. To select an item using the keyboard, press the A key and the underlined letter of the menu you want to select. For example, to select the File menu, press A F. Then, to select an option from the menu, press the underlined letter for the option. Menu File Graph View Print Logger Setup Help Description Allows you to receive test data from the logger, as well as open, save, import data files and export data to a comma-delimited ASCII file. Allows you to create and modify graphs. Allows you to view information on test data, as well as graphs and graph statistics. Allows you to print graphs, test data, test statistics, and/or reports including all or a selection of graph report options. Allows you to set logger options, such as logging intervals, time constants, logger date and time, as well as advanced logging mode options. Displays help information. Getting Started 7

16 Using Toolbar Buttons In addition to the pull-down menus, the TRAKPRO main window offers the following toolbar buttons. Toolbar buttons offer quick access to commonly used menu options. Button Description Opens a data file. Saves the current data file. Receives tests from the logging device. Displays the current graph. Displays the current test statistics. Displays the current test data. Prints reports. Displays help information. Connecting the Logger to the Computer Each logging instrument comes equipped with an RS-232 cable and a 25-pin to 9-pin serial cable adapter. One end of the cable is a 25-pin D subminiature connector labeled COMPUTER; the other end is an RJ-45 modular connector that mates with the logging instrument. Serial port connectors always have pins (male) on the computer side. 1. Locate an available serial port on your computer: COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4. 2. If the port has a 25-pin connector, you do not need the adapter. If the port has a 9-pin connector, plug the 25-pin end of the adapter into the RS-232 cable. 3. Connect the RS-232 cable to the available serial port on your computer. 4. Connect the RJ-45 connector to the logging instrument. Setting Up the Logger Communications Port 1. If you have not already done so, start TRAKPRO. 2. Turn on the logging device. 8 Chapter 2

17 3. Select Communications Port from the Logger Setup menu. The following dialog is displayed: 4. Enter the following: Serial Port Baud Rate Select the name of the serial port to which the logging device is connected: COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4. Select the baud rate for the port. Higher baud rates are recommended to transfer data at a faster rate. Select a lower baud rate only if you are having trouble communicating at a higher rate. 5. Select Test to verify that you have set up the communications port properly. The system displays an informative message indicating whether it was able to establish communications. 6. Select OK to accept the setup or Cancel to discard the changes. Note: Some computers do not communicate reliably at baud rates above Getting Started 9

19 Chapter 3 Using Logger Setup Options Introduction This chapter describes the options available on the Logger Setup menu: Viewing supported logger models. Setting up the communications port. Programming the available logging intervals. Programming the available the time constants. Programming the logger date and time. Programming advanced logging modes. The end of this chapter provides a sample protocol for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Viewing Supported Logger Models To view a list of logging instruments supported by TRAKPRO: 1. Select Model from the Logger Setup menu. The following dialog is an example of what might be displayed: 2. Select the logging instrument for which you want more information. The following dialog is an example of what is displayed when selecting the Q-TRAK with CO button. 11

20 3. The Setup button located under some instruments allows you to perform an instrument setup for that device. 4. Select Close to return to the Logger Model dialog. Then select Close to return to the main window. Setting Up the Communications Port To set up the communications port for the currently selected logger model: 1. If you have not already done so, connect the logging device to your computer. Refer to Connecting the Logger to your Computer in chapter Turn on the logging device and start TRAKPRO. 3. Select Communications Port from the Logger Setup menu. The following dialog is displayed: 12 Chapter 3

Make sure the logging instrument is connected to the computer and turned on. 2. Select Logging Intervals from the Logger Setup menu. TRAKPRO retrieves the current logging intervals from the logging instrument and displays them in the following dialog: 3. Enter a value for each of the five available logging intervals. (The range you can enter is dependent on the logging instrument and is displayed on the Logging Intervals dialog box.) 4. Select Send. Using Logger Setup Options 13

22 The logging instrument is reprogrammed to offer the logging intervals you have specified. Note: For detailed information on logging intervals, refer to the manual that accompanies the logging instrument. Programming the Available Time Constants To program the list of time constants available from the logging instrument: 1. Make sure the logging instrument is connected to the computer and turned on. 2. Select Time Constants from the Logger Setup menu. TRAKPRO retrieves the current time constant settings from the logging instrument and displays them in the following dialog: 3. Enter a value for each of the five available time constants. (The range you can enter is dependent on the logging instrument and is displayed on the Time Constants dialog box.) 4. Select Send. The logging instrument is reprogrammed to offer the time constants you have specified. Note: For detailed information on time constants, refer to the manual that accompanies the logging instrument. 14 Chapter 3

23 Programming the Logger Date and Time To program the logger date and time: 1. Make sure the logging instrument is connected to the computer and turned on. 2. Select Set Logger Clock from the Logger Setup menu. TRAKPRO retrieves the current date and time settings from the logging instrument and displays them in the following dialog: 3. Enter a new date and time, and select Send. The logging instrument is reprogrammed with the date and time you specified. Programming Advanced Logging Modes To program a protocol for LOG 2 or LOG 3 mode: 1. Make sure the logging instrument is connected to the computer and turned on. 2. Select Advanced Logging Modes from the Logger Setup menu. TRAKPRO retrieves the current settings for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes from the logging instrument and displays them in the following dialog: Using Logger Setup Options 15

24 The following table summarizes the information displayed in the Advanced Logging Modes dialog box: Logging Instrument Information Serial Number Displays the serial number of the logging instrument. Number of tests Displays the number of tests currently logged logged and stored in the logging instrument. Available Displays the percent of available memory in Memory (%) the logging instrument. 16 Chapter 3

25 LOG 2 and LOG 3 Mode Protocols Channels Displays the channels selected for sampling in LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Start Date Displays the start date for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Start Time Displays the start time for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Log interval Displays the log interval for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Test length Displays the test length for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Number of tests Displays the number of tests for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Time between Displays the time between tests for LOG 2 tests and LOG 3 modes. Percent Displays the percent of logger memory memory required to perform a LOG 2 or a LOG 3 required. mode sample. To store the results of a LOG 2 or LOG 3 mode sample, the Available Memory must be equal to or greater than the Percent memory required. Using Logger Setup Options 17

26 3. Enter the following for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes: Channels Start Date Start Time Log interval Test length Select the channels for which you want to log data. Enter the date and time to begin the sample: If you enter a blank for a start date, the sample begins whenever the specified start time occurs. If you enter a blank for the start time, both start date and start time are ignored, and the sample begins when the operator manually starts the sample. Enter the log interval to use for the test. For more information on log intervals and their relationship to memory used, refer to the manual that accompanies the logging instrument. Enter the length for the sample: If you enter a value, the instrument automatically turns off when the last test is complete. Number of tests Time between tests If you enter a blank, the operator must manually stop the sample. Enter the number of tests to perform. If you have specified more than one Number of tests, enter the time between tests. If you enter 0 or blank, the next test is started immediately after the last test is complete. 18 Chapter 3

27 While you are entering values for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes, the Percent memory required is dynamically updated to show the amount of logger memory required to take the programmed sample. If the protocol you have defined requires more than 100% of memory, you can decrease the amount of memory required by manipulating the following protocol parameters: Decrease the number of channels for the sample. Increase the logging interval. Decrease the length for the test. Decrease the number of tests. The settings for each LOG mode must not require more than 100% of the logger memory. Note also that if the Percent memory required is greater than the Available memory, the logging instrument automatically stops the test when memory is full. 4. When you have finished defining the parameters for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes, select Send. 5. You may now disconnect your logging instrument and cable from the computer. Refer to the Operation and Service Manual for your specific TSI logging instrument for details on making measurements using LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. Sample Protocol for LOG 2 and LOG 3 Modes The following steps describe how to program a sample protocol for LOG 2 or LOG 3 mode. The sample protocol is set up to take unattended samples of C0 2 readings on five consecutive days beginning on 9/04/94. The logging sample begins at 6:00 a.m. each morning and stops at 4:00 p.m. each afternoon. 1. Make sure the logging instrument is connected to the computer and turned on. 2. Select Advanced Logging Modes from the Logger Setup menu. TRAKPRO retrieves the current settings for LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes from the logging instrument. Using Logger Setup Options 19

Enter the following for LOG 2 or LOG 3 mode: Channels CO 2, Temp, rh Start Date 05/09/96 Start Time 06:00 a.m. Log interval 05:00 Test length 00:10:00 Number of tests 5 Time between 00:14:00 tests Your screen should look similar to the following: 4. Select Send. The logging instrument is programmed for the mode 2 and mode 3 protocols. 5. You may now disconnect your logging instrument and cable from the computer. Refer to the Operation and Service Manual for your specific TSI logging instrument for details on making measurements using LOG 2 and LOG 3 modes. 20 Chapter 3

29 Chapter 4 Managing Data Files Introduction This chapter describes how to manage data test files. The following topics are covered: Receiving test data. Updating test information. Viewing test data. Saving test data. Importing data. Exporting data. Receiving Test Data To receive test data from a logging device: 1. If you have not already done so, connect the logging device to your computer, turn on the logger and start TRAKPRO. (For instructions on connecting the logger to your computer, refer to chapter 2, Getting Started.) 2. Select or Receive from the File menu. The following dialog is displayed: 21

31 The following table summarizes the information displayed in the main window: Tests Model Serial Number Abbreviation Channels Summary Lists the available tests. The current test is highlighted. Model of the instrument that logged the current test. Serial number of the instrument that logged the current test. An optional one- to ten-character description for the current test. Lists the channels logged for the current test. An optional description for the current test. The summary can be up to 200 characters. Updating Test Information You can update the abbreviation and summary information stored with a test: 1. Select the test for which you want to update information. 2. Enter the following: Abbreviation Enter an abbreviation for the test of up to ten characters. Summary Enter a summary for the test of up to 200 characters. 3. Select Update. Note: If you do not select Update, all changes are discarded when a new test is highlighted. Viewing Test Data Once you have received test data or opened an existing test data file, that file is the current data file. For each test in a data file, you can view test data and test statistics. To view test data: 1. Highlight the test in the main window for which you want to view data. Managing Data Files 23

Indicates the average value for each channel. Indicates the minimum value the logging instrument displayed during the sample, along with the time and date at which the value occurred. * Indicates the maximum value the logging instrument displayed during the sample, along with the time and date at which the value occurred. * * The minimum and maximum values are not the lowest and highest logged data points, but rather the minimum and maximum values displayed on the logging instrument. 3. Select Close to close the display. Saving Test Data To save test data you have updated to the same file: Select or Save from the File menu. 34 1. Select Save As from the File menu. The following window is displayed: 2. Select the directory in which to save the file, and enter the file name. Data files are automatically assigned the file extension df1. 3. Select OK to save the test data. Importing Data You can merge test data from more than one file into one single file. To do so, use the Import option available on the File menu: 1. Select Import from the File menu. The following dialog is displayed: 26 Chapter 4

35 2. Select the file from which you want to import test data. The following window is displayed: 3. Select the tests you want to import into the current file, and select Import. If a data file is currently open, you are asked whether you want to import the tests into the current file. 4. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for each file that contains test data you want to merge together in one file. 5. Save the file using the Save As or Save command on the File menu. Exporting Data You can export some or all of the tests in any open data file to a commadelimited ASCII file. This exported file can then be loaded into a database or spreadsheet program for your own use. To export data, select Export from the File menu: 1 Select what test(s) you want to export and select Export. 2 The file dialog will appear. Enter the name of the file you want to export the data to or select one from the file list. The export process may take a few minutes for large data files. Managing Data Files 27

37 Chapter 5 Working with Graphs Introduction TRAKPRO allows you to create, modify, save, and print test data in graph form. This chapter describes the following: Creating a graph. Using graph toolbar buttons. Using graph menu options. The end of this chapter provides four sample graphs: Sample 1: Single-Channel Graph. Sample 2: Single-Channel Graph with Overlayed Channels. Sample 3: Multi-Channel Graph. Sample 4: Multi-Channel Graph with Log Scaling. Creating a Graph To create a graph: 1. If you have not already done so, open an existing data file or receive the test data from the logger and store it in a file. 2. Select New from the Graph menu. The following dialog is displayed: 29

38 3. Enter the following: Graph Name Main Title Sub title Channels displayed Type... Enter a unique name from one to twenty characters. Enter a title for the graph from zero to twentyfive characters. Enter a subtitle for the graph from zero to twenty-five characters. Select the channels you want to display on the graph. You can select from one to six channels. (The number of channels you select is displayed in the Total channels box.) Select Type and specify the graph type. To graph multiple types of channels (for example, CO 2, aerosol, and so on), select multi-channel. To graph different tests of a single channel type (for example, two or more CO 2 tests), select single-channel. After selecting the graph type, select OK. 4. Select OK. The graph you have defined becomes the current graph and is displayed on the screen. 30 Chapter 5

39 The following figure shows a sample multi-channel graph with automatic scaling: The following table summarizes the graph display areas. 4 1 Displays the name of the current graph. You can change the name by entering a new name in the box. 2 Displays the graph title and subtitle. 3 Displays the y-axis values for each of the displayed channels, starting with the first channel at the very left, the second channel next, and so on. 4 Displays x-axis values for the graph. 5 Displays the legend for the graph display. By default, channels are numbered from 1 to 6 and are shown in blue, light green, red, yellow, dark green, and purple. You can specify a different legend for the graph. You can also show markers on the graph for each channel. Refer to Specifying Graph Legends and Markers in this chapter. 5 Working with Graphs 31

40 Using Graph Toolbar Buttons While viewing a graph, the following toolbar buttons offer quick access to the graph menu options: Button Description Closes the graph display. Zooms in on the graph display. You can zoom in as many times as you want. Zooms out to the full graph display. Allows you to make notes on the graph. Displays graph statistics. Prints the current graph. Closing the Current Graph Display To close the current graph display: Select Close. Note: The graph does not automatically save when closed. See Saving a Graph in this section. Using Zoom To zoom in: 1. Select. A cursor is displayed. 2. Designate the area you want to enlarge: With the mouse, move the cursor to the upper left corner of the area you want to enlarge. Click and drag the box to define the area you want to enlarge. You can repeatedly zoom in on an area to further enlarge the view. Note: You can also define the area you want to view by changing the range in the x-axis dialog. Refer to Changing the X-Axis in this chapter. 32 Chapter 5

41 To return the display to the original size: Select. Making Notes on a Graph To make notes on a graph: 1. Select. 2. Move the cursor to the point in the graph at which you want to make a note, and click the left mouse button. 3. Type in the note you want to appear on the graph. The note can be up to twenty characters in length. 4. Press R. Viewing Graph Statistics To view graph statistics, do one of the following: Select. Select Graph Statistics from the View menu. Using Graph Menu Options Once you have created or loaded a graph, that graph becomes the current graph and the graph menu options are available. Opening an Existing Graph To open an existing graph: 1. Select Open from the Graph menu. The following window is displayed: 2. Highlight the graph you want to open and select Open. 43 Changing the Graph Type To change the type of graph: 1. Select Type from the Graph menu. The following window is displayed: 2. Highlight the type of graph: To graph multiple types of channels (for example, CO 2, aerosol, and so on), select multi-channel. To graph different tests of a single channel type (for example, two or more CO 2 tests), select single-channel. 3. Select OK. Note: You can select single-channel only when the graph contains one type of channel. To change the graph type to single-channel, first change the selected channels so that only one type of channel is selected. Refer to Changing the Graph Channels in this chapter. Changing the Graph Title To change the title of a graph: 1. Select Titles from the Graph menu. The following window is displayed: Working with Graphs 35

44 2. Enter the following: Main Title Sub title Enter a title for the graph from zero to twentyfive characters. Enter a subtitle for the graph from zero to twenty-five characters. 3. Select OK. Changing the Graph Channels To change the channels displayed in a graph: 1. Select Channels from the Graph menu. The following window is displayed: 2. Select the channels you want to display in the graph and select OK. You can select up to six channels from any combination of tests. Note: If the graph type is currently set to single-channel, you cannot select more than one type of channel. If you want to select more than one type of channel, first change the graph type to multi-channel. Refer to Changing the Graph Type in this chapter. 36 Chapter 5

45 Changing the Graph Y-Axis To change the y-axis of a graph: 1. Select Y-Axis from the Graph menu. The following dialog is displayed: 2. Enter the following: Channels Scaling Type Grid Tick Marks Range Lists the channels currently selected for display in the graph. The highlighted channel is the currently selected channel. Select the type of scaling: Automatic or Manual. When automatic is selected, TRAKPRO calculates the best range for the display of each channel. When Manual is selected, you can enter a range for each channel. Select the type of graph: Linear or Log. Turn the y-axis grid lines on or off. Enter the number of tick marks to display along the y-axis. If you have selected Manual Scaling, you can enter a high and low range for each channel. 3. Select OK. Working with Graphs 37

46 Changing the Graph X-Axis To change the x-axis of a graph: 1. Select X-Axis from the Graph menu. The following dialog is displayed: 2. Enter the following: Overlay channels Grid Range Reset Select No to display the test data in real time; select Yes to overlay the test data by ignoring the date. Turn the x-axis grid lines on or off. When No is select for Overlay channels, you can specify the range to display in the graph. Specifying a range for the graph is a more precise way of zooming in on the graph display. Resets the range values to their original values. Reset is the same as zooming out to the original graph view. 3. Select OK. Specifying Graph Legends and Markers To specify a legend and/or display markers for a graph: 1. Select Legend/Markers from the Graph menu. The following dialog is displayed: 38 Chapter 5

47 The Legend box displays the type of legend currently selected The list of channels shows the legend for each channel based on the legend type. The Show Markers determines whether markers are displayed on the graph. 2. Select the type of legend for the graph: User defined Test ID Start Date Start Time Test Abbreviation Model Serial number If you select user defined, you can enter a legend of up to ten characters for each channel in the graph display. Legends for all channels are automatically set to the test ID for each channel. Legends for all channels are automatically set to the start date for each channel. Legends for all channels are automatically set to the start time for each channel. Legends for all channels are automatically set to the abbreviation for the channel. (You can change the abbreviation for a test. Refer to Updating Test Information in chapter 4.) Legends for all channels are automatically set to the model ID for the channel. Legends for all channels are automatically set to the serial number of the logging instrument for the channel. 3. Select or de-select Show Markers. 4. Select OK. Working with Graphs 39

48 Deleting Graph Notes To delete one or more graph notes: 1. Select Notes from the Graph menu. The following window is displayed: 2. Highlight the note or notes you want to delete and select Delete. To delete all the notes, select Delete All. Changing Graph Colors To change one or more graph colors: 1. Select Colors from the Graph menu. The following window is displayed: 2. The chart shows which colors are currently selected for each channel. Highlight the channel you wish to change; then select the desired color. 40 Chapter 5

Printing options. Printing Graph Reports To print a report for a graph and associated data: 1. Open a graph for which you want to print a report. 2. Select Reports from the Print menu. The following dialog is displayed: The name of the printer and current graph are displayed at the top of the dialog. If you need to change the selected printer, refer to Setting Up the Printer in this chapter. 45

54 3. Enter the following: Items to Print Report Header Select the items to print: Graph. Prints the current view of the graph. Data. Prints the associated data for each channel on the graph. The data includes the date, time, and value for each logged data point. Statistics. Prints a summary of statistics for each channel on the graph. The statistics include the average, lowest, and highest data points, along with the date and time at which the lowest and highest points occurred. Test Summary. Prints the test summary associated with each channel on the graph. Calibration Data. Prints the date and time of the last calibration for each channel on the graph. Enter a header to appear on all reports. The header can be up to 50 characters long. The header is printed on all graph reports. 4. Select Print. To change printing orientation, use the Print Options. Printing Options To set printing options: 1. Select Options from the Print menu. The following dialog is displayed: 2. Select the desired graph and text orientation. 3. Select the desired print color. So printers do not support grey scale conversion of color printing, and will cause loss of detail in the printout.
