6 Page 6/21 6 GETTING THE DATABASES VIA THE INTERNET The following sections provide the instructions necessary to obtain the required databases from INDS via the internet. This can be done instead of receiving the databases via CD-ROM. The following APEX databases are available for PC-12NG: Blue CD - Issued every 14 days, (Electronic Terminal Charts, Geopolitical Boundaries, Airport Information, Obstacle Data) Purple CD - Issued every 28 days, (Navigation Data, Airspace and Communications Data, Cities and Transportation Data, Aircraft Configuration Data). Note: Navigation Data is specific to APEX avionics software load (APEX System Top Level Part Number). Please contact INDS if a new version of APEX software has been installed. Green CD - Issued every Year (Terrain Data, Green CD Data) 6.1 OBTAINING DATABASES FROM INDS All databases can be obtained online from the following URL: The content of each disk is needs to be located in a separate folder on the laptop. Note: All databases can be stored on a local drive or can be used to create a CD-ROM. All necessary instructions are given on the INDS web page. All databases downloaded from INDS are zipped files which must be unzipped before loading on aircraft. Note: Use the user name and password given to you by your INDS Account Manager. If you forget your user name and password or need to have it changed, please call your INDS Account Manager at Option 1 (United States) or Option 1 (outside the United States). 6.2 OPTIONAL: USING JSUM FOR FASTER CHARTS LOADING In an effort to decrease the loading time for the Blue CD (Charts database) in the Apex system, INDS has introduced a new update process using JSUM (Jeppesen Services Update Manager). JSUM is a free software application that provides the ability to update a smaller region within your coverage area. This reduces the amount of data and therefore decreases the loading time. Loading time can be significantly reduced whether you subscribe to Worldwide or to smaller sub-region coverage(s). JSUM Software Instructions In order to use JSUM to update the Blue CD, the JSUM application will need to be installed on a PC. Download the JSUM installation file from the following URL: In your browser, click Download JSUM vx.x.x, and follow the onscreen instructions to install the program. For additional installation help, refer to any of the installation resources listed below the download link. A Flash Multimedia screencast for updating Honeywell Apex Charts data is available under the following URL: It is recommended that you read through the JSUM QuickStart Guide prior to installing JSUM, here:
