1 About Digital Signature using MyKey Purpose MyKey is the digital signature software governed by Malaysia s Digital Signature Act 1997 & is accepted by the courts of law in Malaysia. A document digitally signed with MyKey is treated as a legal binding document as it is with a handwritten signature This document serves as guideline for MyKad holders who wish to enroll for MSCTrusgate.com s digital certificate, MyKey. Kindly follow the instruction below. Scope This document covers the following areas and topics: Minimum hardware and software requirement (Section 1) MyKey Enrollment (Section 2) Section 1 Minimum hardware and software requirement 1. 64k Chip National Identity Card (MyKad) ready. To verify whether your MyKad is 64k ready, refer to the back of the card to see the card 64k compliances. 2. MyKey digital certificate already injected into your MyKad. To apply and enroll for MyKey digital certificate, kindly visit 3. PCSC compliant card reader installed and attached to your computer. You will need the to insert your MyKad to the smart card reader. 4. CSP (Cryptographic Service Provider) is installed to your PC. This will read the MyKey digital certificate in your MyKad. 2 Section 2 Enroll for MyKey certificate This section provides detail instruction for installing MyKey PKI Tools. These instructions only apply to Windows 98, 2000, and XP. 1. Make sure you have installed smart card driver and attach smart card to your PC. You can either install the smart card driver by downloading the latest driver from website, or, from a CD provided by your smart card manufacturer. 2. Make sure you have installed CSP, and MyKad Client Kit. You can download these for free from 3. Make sure you have your credit card number or prepaid voucher number with you. 4. Go to Open Internet Explorer and go to Digital ID Center, an Active-X Object will be run and you will be required to installed it. Click OK to install the Active-X Object (option). 5. Choose the options enroll for the Digital Ids for Microsoft Internet Explorer only. Page 2 of 9

3 6. Click at Enroll. You will see the following pages. The whole process will take about 2 minutes. 7. Please change your default MyKad Pin Number. Enter your new 8 digit pin number and click Submit. Page 3 of 9

4 8. If you have inserted your MyKad correctly, if your smart card reader has a flash light, the flash light will appear. Click submit. You will be given Enrollment Form to complete. 9. Observe that the system auto-retrieve your IC card number, and your name. Kindly key in : a. Your address, preferably company address. Web mail address such as yahoo, and hotmail, is not accepted. This is the address where you can digitally sign your s and encrypt your s. b. Challenge Phrase, this is password for your MyKey. DO NOT SHARE your challenge phrase with other people. You will be required to give the challenge phrase if you want to revoke your certificate in the future. c. Contact Information d. Billing Information 10. Click Submit. You will be prompted to confirm your address. Click OK. Page 4 of 9

5 11. The system now will start processing to your certificate enrollment. Check the legal name, IC number and address is correct. When you enroll for MyKey (digital certificates), you will receive 2 digital certificates, one is called Authentication and another one is called Non-repudiation. The system now will process for the first certificate. Click Yes if there is a pop up window like the following. 12. You are then requested to enter 8 digits PIN to your MyKad. Call helpdesk if you have problem with your pin. Click OK. Page 5 of 9

6 13. The system is now processing your first digital certificate. You will receive the following page. Kindly wait. 14. Once the first digital certificate has been successfully generated into your MyKad you will see the following page. Page 6 of 9

9 16. CONGRATULATIONS. You are now the proud owner of Mykey (digital certificates). You can now use your Mykey to do secure trusted online transactions, including Secure e- Filing, s, e-banking and other applications which are PKI integrated ready. Page 9 of 9
