There has been a consistant month on month increases in prices for almost 12 months with average property prices now a staggering 33% higher than this time last year. Combine this with 35% less property on the market than at this time last year (source: zoopla.co.uk) this is causing prices to rise further as buyers compete for the best property in the most desirable locations. If help to buy is amended or scrapped to protect house price stability, then this will further knock confidence and a correction may be inevitable.
