Participants will engage in activities both inside and outside such as plant life, examine specimen under the microscope, apply the investigative process, and record findings in a lab manual. Transportation is provided to all activities (University Farm, Nature walk and the Greensboro Science Center). All children are supervised by undergraduate and graduate education major counselors. Your child will be exposed to a science curriculum that is advanced by one grade level. The advanced curriculum will demonstrate students can handle advanced work and prepare them for next fall. 2 New three day residential camp for high school rising juniors and seniors females to broaden their knowledge in technology! FIT will provided students with: First hand exposure to college campus life Mentorship from School of Technology female faculty Conduct small project ranging from writing computer programs to creating computer apps Gain experience using software application in technology management, reading blueprints and sketching, and green building materials and systems Sharpen team building and public speaking skills Scholarships are available for the 2015 FIT Residential Camp. Please complete the scholarship application form and submit with your application. Scholarships space is limited and fills on a first-come, first-served basis. Twelve invited participants will be engaged in case-studybased laboratory experiences related to environmental hazards, biology, chemistry and engineering. The program will be led by female PhD faculty serving as mentors; that will work directly with the students providing hands-on lab experiences in their research laboratories. Camp hours are 8:30am 4:30pm. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided. To apply, students and parents must complete an on-line application at the following link provided below. The objective of the Aggie Enrichment Camps at North Carolina A&T State University is to provide enrichment activities and promote interdisciplinary learning experiences for elementary and middle school students throughout the summer. Parents and campers have the opportunity to choose from many programs and attend one or several camps. The Aggie Enrichment Camps is a full-day program that starts June 17 through August 1, Camp hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm, with early drop off beginning at 7:30am, and late pick up until 6:00pm. The registration deadline is two weeks prior to each camp session(s). The cost of each camp is $175 per including lunch. For early drop-off and late pick-up, please add an additional $25 per camp. All camps are on a first come first serve basis. To secure your dates, please apply online and pay the $35 non- refundable registration fee per camp. Please note your registration fee will be subtracted from the camp cost. For convenience, parents may make weekly or monthly payments toward their child's camp cost; however, the balance is due two weeks before the start of camp. A $35 late registration fee will be charged for registration the day of camp. During the week, students will have hands-on science experiences while learning about environmental sustainability or green practices. Students will learn about alternative energy, methods to conserve water, and

6 engineering designs that help protect the environment. Lab activities will include studies of solar energy, green buildings, water quality, recycling. Students will also go on tours demonstrating green practices. P.U.S.H. To be eligible to attend PUSH, an applicant must be a rising 9 th grade student. Applicants must have an intent on pursuing a career in science or medicine. Applicants must have earned a grade of B or better in Science and Math courses. A copy of final report is required. Registration Deadline: April 17, Applicants will be notified of candidate selection via no later than May 1, Program Cost: $100 Program Description: The primary goal for P.U.S.H. (Preparation of Underclassmen for Science and Healthcare) program is to give participants an introductory mindson and hands on experience in a variety of science based subjects. This is a two week day camp designed for rising 9th grade students who are interested in pursuing health careers, math and science. The camp will focus on introducing students to various health careers in a higher education setting while making learning fun and enjoyable. The students will participate in classes to reinforce their science and math skills at the Department of Chemistry at North Carolina A&T State University. The faculty will also provide an overview of Chemistry and its rich history. The students will have meals, classes, mentoring and activities on campus to keep them engaged all day from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be a few field trips during the week that are sure to engage the students in hands on activities. N.C. A&T faculty involved in PUSH are: Dr. Ginger Redd (Department of Chemistry) and Dr. Tanya Pinder (Department of Chemistry). Program Cost: N/A Website: Program Description: The Summer High School Transportation (STI) is a unique concept that creates an awareness of the attractive career choices and opportunities existing within the transportation industry. The STI commuter program is headquartered at the Transportation Institute of the School of Business and Economics. The Institute provides high school students with opportunities to interact with transportation professionals and to discuss theory and practice in a classroom setting and on weekly field trips. Each participant receives a weekly stipend and a college-level course, tuition free. Participants will be selected for the STI based on their academic achievement, expression of interest in transportation as a possible career choice and written recommendations from the student s high school counselor and at least one teacher. Through hands on activities, students will design and develop electronic documents, formulas, graphs, presentations, and models using computer applications such as Google Sketch Up, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point. The camp will also include a field trip to a LEED certified 'green' building and a competition/awards program to recognize students for outstanding computer skills, innovation, teamwork, and ethical leadership. Areas of research include: Craniofacial and Orthopedic Applications, Cardiovascular Devices, and Responsive Biosensors for Implants. This program has the following program attributes. Areas of research include: Craniofacial and Orthopedic Applications, Cardiovascular Devices, and Responsive Biosensors for Implants. This program has the following program attributes. Paid mentored research experience Possible housing available in the NC A&T SU residence halls Possible travel allowance to/from the REU site Lecture series, workshops and social activities.
