Centro Latino s Computer Technician Training program will help you to pass the required CompTIA A+ exams and become a successful computer technician professional. You will learn the foundation-level knowledge and skills necessary for a career in PC support, including installation, preventive maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. Lastly, you will receive support to help you find your first IT job and ensure that it is a success. This program is designed specifically for Spanish speaking adults who are interested in pursuing a career in IT. Introduction to CompTIA A+ certification To obtain the CompTIA A+ certification you will need to pass two exams, CompTIA A+ Essentials and the CompTIA A+ Practical Application.

2 Introduction to CompTIA A+ certification To obtain the CompTIA A+ certification you will need to pass two exams, CompTIA A+ Essentials and the CompTIA A+ Practical Application. Each exam is comprised of 100 questions and lasts 90 minutes. The passing score on a scale of for the CompTIA A+ Essentials is 675, and for the CompTIA A+ Practical Application it is 700. Both exams are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and many other languages. 5 Training Program Our program offers six months of intensive training, preparation and job search support for your new career. The first four months of the program focus on the technical training and workplace preparation skills. The fifth month concentrates on passing the A+ certification exams and the final month is dedicated to job search, preparation, interviewing and placement. The program takes an integrated approach by offering technical training in a bilingual format, with terminology in English and explanations in Spanish. In addition, students will be provided additional instruction in English according to their language level. Lastly, students will meet with a Counselor for workshops and individual sessions to prepare for a successful job search and experience in the first IT support job. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday at Centro Latino s Chelsea site from 6:00pm to 10:00pm for a total of 24 weeks of preparation for a new Computer Technician Career. In order to succeed in our program and become a successful computer technician professional, you will need to dedicate and commit at least 30 hours a week for training, instruction, and work outside the classroom. 6 Application Process If you would like to apply to be part of this exciting program, complete the attached application and submit it with a $100 deposit. Thanks to the generous support of the Smith Family Foundation, the program fee for this first year is just $600, which includes training, class materials, lab fees, test preparation and test fee, job placement and support your new career. Requirements Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be considered for the A+ Certification training: Contact Experience with basic computer applications and the internet.
