3 What is Industry & Analysis? Within ITA, Industry & Analysis (I&A) provides industry expertise to manufacturers and service providers, as well as other U.S. Government agencies to make export decisions easier and trade promotion more impactful. Enable and lead both trade promotion and trade policy Maintain relationships with industry firms, associations, and other key stakeholders Manage 14 industry advisory committees & other sector-specific advisory committees Participate and/or lead trade negotiations (i.e., ITA, EGA, and Trade in Services Agreement) Publish timely data and other industry reports Manufacturing Services Textiles, Consumer Goods, and Materials Trade Policy & Analysis Travel and Tourism

5 Strategic Partnerships The Strategic Partnership Program leverages public-private partnerships with trade associations, state international trade offices, and private corporations to expand our reach to millions of U.S. businesses regarding global business opportunities. Phase I Access to data, trade flows, trends and real-time information is critical to keeping ahead of the foreign competition. I&A s Strategic Partnership Data Project utilizes APIs to stream, real-time information updates directly from ITA s websites to ITA s Strategic Partners. Two Strategic Partners (ThinkGlobal, WebPort Global) are connected to ITA s API platform Expands access to industry data and market information exponentially Example Fifteen additional Strategic Partners are in line for access, including UPS and FedEx. Once FedEx is connected to the ITA s API, ITA will be able to push industry data and market information to FedEx s 50 million unique visitors per month.
6 Trade Promotion Programs Trade Promotion Programs help link U.S. exporters with foreign buyers or distributors in key markets around the world. Trade Missions Opportunity for U.S. firms to pursue exports by meeting directly with potential clients in their markets. In Fiscal Year 2014, ITA led 47 trade missions with 640 participating clients. The missions resulted in $700 million of export successes. Certified Trade Missions The Department of Commerce certifies trade missions that are organized by state and private sector organizations, such as governors, mayors, industry trade associations, Chambers of Commerce. Trade Shows Last year, there were 34 International Buyer Program events with 13,542 delegates. At these events, over 10,000 meetings were arranged resulting in $616 million in exports. Last year, the Department of Commerce partnered with outside entities on 25 CTMs, including: -The Governor of Maryland CTM to Brazil -Enterprise Florida CTM to the Dominican Republic -The World Trade Center Buffalo and Niagara CTM to Hong Kong
7 Market Development Cooperator Program Each year, I&A makes several financial assistance awards to industry groups to pursue projects that help U.S. firms export and create jobs through its Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP). Since its inception the program has garnered $327 of exports for every $1 dollar invested. Non-profit industry groups compete for MDCP awards from ITA: Up to $300,000 Partner w/federal agencies Applications due: February Who is Eligible? Trade Association Chambers of Commerce State Trade Departments Other Non-Profits Cooperators commit to: Projects to engage small. firms in exporting Term: 3 years Two-thirds of total cost Evaluation Criteria: 20% Potential to generate exports that create or sustain U.S. jobs 20% Export performance measurement 20% ITA partnership & priorities 20% Creativity & institutional capacity 20% Budget, match, sustainability

Industry detail up to the 4-digit level on both HS and NAICS basis. State Import Database Annual and quarterly state merchandise import trade data by country and market. Metropolitan Export Series Tracks exports of goods from major U.S. metro areas by value, product, and destination. Exporter Database Database of value of exports and number of exporters by company size, destination, state and industry. They provide sound market intelligence to assist you in finding partners and to make your promotional efforts more effective at enticing more leisure or business travelers to the country. 18

Monthly total travel spending estimates issued by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, but summarized for just travel and tourism on this site. Forecast for inbound travel to the U.S. twice a year. Free market profile reports for over 20 countries, 10 world regions and 5 sectors. Historical data back to Articles from webinars conducted in partnership with the Global Markets Travel & Tourism team. Recent webinar topics include the improvements in customer service from State and DHS, India, and Canadian MICE travelers. 19
20 Travel & Tourism Resources Research Programs: Go to: Each program has reports and data that may be purchased to provide in-depth market intelligence on the international travel market to the country. The Survey for International Air Travelers Program provides the source data for the free market profiles. The information collected is maintained as a data base and custom reports can be ordered for clients who want to know about international travelers from a specific country, who visit a specific destination, or by a sector like travelers who stay in a hotel or rent cars. Examples of the reports can be seen as well as the prices for the data that is available. The I-94 monthly arrivals and I-92/APIS data bases provide visitor counts for air traffic data and these programs also have reports and data available for sale. 20
