Strategic Management (15 credits) This unit is concerned with the goals and direction of companies: their strategic priorities and how they can achieve them. It analyses strategy according to the external opportunities and challenges facing a company and according to its internal resources. Design Structures of Organisations Organisational Culture Managing Organisational Change. Management Information Systems (15 credits) This unit aims to foster an understanding of Information Communication Technologies (ICT), the processes of technical innovation, how these processes and technologies are shaped, and how they impact on individuals, organisations and markets. The study is interdisciplinary and draws on literature from business and management, information systems and social science. The course has three themes: K ey concepts of information systems and the challenges entailed in developing, implementing and adopting information systems. This ranges from in-house, bespoke systems to off-the-shelf packages. The changing nature of work for an ICT professional. This will link to changing business models and markets within the ICT industry. The impact of information systems on organisations and working life, including the uptake of digital technology into domestic spheres.

Law, Regulation and Risk (30 credits) This unit provides an overview of the key techniques and principles that underpin effective regulation and compliance management. 5 04 Essential Facts BSc (Hons) Management with Compliance How is the course taught? The course is taught via blended learning. Study hours are hours per course unit. What is the method of assessment? Assessment is based on a combination of coursework assignments and examinations. Where are the workshops and examinations held? Each 15-credit course unit includes a weekendlong workshop taught by Manchester Business School academics. There will be eight weekend workshops and four examination days in total over the two years. These are delivered in four regional study centres; London, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man (subject to sufficient numbers). Who should apply? If you wish to continue to develop your professional skills in your core discipline and enhance your management skills, this course is for you. It will advantage practitioners from compliance, anti money laundering, risk and fraud prevention. Typically, individuals from the following job roles would benefit: money laundering prevention and reporting, compliance, risk, fraud prevention, law, accountancy, regulation, audit, law enforcement and investigation. Admissions requirements This is a prestigious course demanding demonstrable competence. Applicants will need to possess: i) An ICA Diploma in either Anti Money Laundering, Compliance or Financial Crime Prevention and ii) A second ICA Diploma as above or a equivalent Diploma level qualification in a financial services discipline and iii) 3 years work experience in a relevant field.
