3 Study of the United States Institutes - Global Student Leaders Program- (SUSI) What are the Study of the U.S. Institutes Global Student Leaders Program? The SUSI program is a fully-funded five-week intensive academic program in the U.S. for undergraduate student leaders. Participants develop leadership and collective problem-solving skills, while exploring and gaining a deeper understanding of U.S. history and culture. The Institute consists of hands-on leadership training workshops, group discussions, teambuilding, effective communication, and management skills. Community service projects, optional home stays and other opportunities for interaction with American peers, and other cultural activities are also included. The SUSI Program is open to Algerian citizens who are in their first, second, or third year of college or university, are between 18 and 25 years of age, are proficient in English, who demonstrate characteristics of leadership, and have a strong interest in learning about the United States. When to apply? SUSI is usually open in December* of each year.

4 Coca-Cola MENA Scholarship What is the Coca-Cola MENA Scholarship? The Coca-Cola MENA Scholarship is a fully-funded month long business program for enterprising university students at the University of Indiana s prestigious Kelley School of Business. This multi-faceted, immersion program is designed to give students the opportunity to learn about business education through an accelerated curriculum. In addition to the residential course at Indiana University, the scholars are also hosted at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. and at the global headquarters of the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia. The Coca-Cola Scholarship is open to current university students between the ages of 18 and 23 who are Algerian citizens. Applicants should be fluent in English, should have limited travel experience in the United States, and should have basic familiarity with Microsoft Office. When to apply? The Coca-Cola Scholarship is usually open in March/April* of each year.

5 NESA UGRAD Undergraduate Scholarship What is NESA Program? The Near East and South Asia Undergraduate Exchange Program (NESA UGRAD) is a part of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD Program), a scholarship program managed by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State for emerging student leaders from underrepresented sectors around the world. NESA UGRAD provides a substantive exchange experience at a U.S. college or university for students from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Participants engage in one year of undergraduate, non-degree studies at a diverse network of accredited two- and four-year institutions. Participants engage in local service projects and take part in cultural enrichment activities. Host institutions provide participants with academic skill development classes. 6 MEPI Student Leaders Program What is the MEPI Student Leaders Program? MEPI Student Leaders offers a 5 week study opportunity in the U.S for talented university students aged Participants live on U.S. college campuses and attend lectures, roundtable discussions, and site visits with academics and civic leaders, engage in local community service activities, and most importantly, have the opportunity to discover the United States and its diverse cultures for themselves. Upon return, the students are usually highly enthusiastic, maintain communication networks among themselves and with the embassy, and continue to pursue civic reform and community service activities. The MEPI Program is open to Algerian citizens who are in their first, second, or third year of college or university, are between 18 and 25 years of age, are proficient in English, who demonstrate characteristics of leadership, and have a strong interest in learning about the United States. When to apply? The MEPI program is usually open in September/November* of each year.

7 MEPI Tomorrow s Leaders Scholarship Program What is the MEPI Tomorrow s Leaders Scholarship Program? The Tomorrow s Leaders Scholarship Program provides scholarships for four-year degree programs to high school students in the Middle East and North Africa who are economically disadvantaged, but who have the drive and energy to be leaders. Selected participants will attend a U.S.-accredited university in the region. The American University in Cairo (AUC), Lebanese American University (LAU), and the American University of Beirut (AUB) are the current host institutions. Scholarship recipients receive an undergraduate degree and specialized civics-based training to include a semester abroad in the U.S., as well as internship opportunities with local public, civil society, or private-sector organizations. The primary objective is to build a cadre of university-age leaders who are civic-minded, intellectually able, and professionally skilled, and who will become the community, business, and national leaders of the future. Applicants must be a high school senior or have graduated high school in 2014 and must have strong academic credentials, including proficiency in spoken and written English. The MEPI Tomorrow s Leaders Program is open to Algerian citizens who are high school seniors or who graduated from high school in Applicants should have strong academic credentials, including proficiency in written and spoken English.
