4 Higher Education Administrators Program Overview Two week seminars exploring higher education Designed to create empowering connections with the societal, cultural, and higher education systems of other countries Expand networks of U.S. and international colleagues Participating countries: India, Korea, Japan, Russia, France, Germany Deadlines: vary by country

5 Eligibility Requirements U.S. citizenship Must be employed by a U.S. higher education institution International education administrator or senior-level university administrator Strategic decision-making position with substantial responsibility for enhancing the international dimension on their campus Minimum of 5 years experience in international education Preference given to applicants without extensive experience in the host country and to those without previous Fulbright grants

6 IEA Program Expectations Have a knowledge of the overall structure of higher education in the U.S. and in your respective state Basic understanding of differences between the cultures of host and the U.S. Demographics of your home institution, in particular the study abroad and global program opportunities available Background info on the economic relationships that your state and region may have with host country

16 Review Process and Timetable August: CIES staff conduct technical reviews for completeness September : U.S. peer review committee convenes to review applications October: Applicants notified of status, either recommended or not recommended. Recommended applications are sent to host country and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board for final approval. November: Candidates notified of final selection outcomes March 2016: Fulbright-Nehru IEA Seminar
