Wealth Management Services has thus become important to HNI and even companies for making the right investment decisions. Over the years, financial consulting has developed into integrated solution provider role for middle class and HNIs for investment management, taxation advice, and portfolio management. The India growth story has given an impetus to this sector in the recent past. This program aims to develop competent financial planners by providing knowledge on financial markets, products and institutions. Needs and expectations of each customer differ and the Financial planners are expected to understand uniqueness of requirements to recommend an appropriate investment strategy suitable for the client. It requires a deeper understanding on client and also financial markets. Financial Derivatives 7. Commodity Derivatives 8. Investment in Gold, Arts, and other Assets 9. Institutions: Stock Exchanges and Depositary Module 3: Investment Strategies 1. Portfolio Theory and Management 2. Asset Allocation 3. Technical Analysis (market timing) 4. Formula Investing 5. Risk Management 6. Tax Planning 7. Investment Management Project (on-line simulation project) Financial Planning Lab Financial Planning Lab will be conducted using the following Thomson Reuters products. The participants are expected to do a few assignments using these products. 3000Xtra Wealth Tools Excel Add-In (TRSL) Portfolio Analytics MetaStock Program Delivery Program will be conducted with a combination of live class room interaction at IIMB coupled with delivery through Thomson-Reuters centres in Bangalore. The total duration of the programme will be 21 days (16 days in classroom and 5 days of financial lab). Lectures will be delivered at IIMB. Financial lab sessions will be conducted at Thomson-Reuters centres in Bangalore for hands-on training in Thomson-Reuters database and analytical products. The program will be spread over a period of 7 months and classes will be held as per the schedule given in this brochure.

Phase IV At Thomson Reuters - Financial Planning Lab To access the Thomson Reuters Labs, participants need to sign an agreement, the format of which is part of this brochure. (5 days) to hrs Target Participants Profile Graduates with a minimum of 5 years experience. The program will benefit to those who are currently employed in mutual funds, insurance advisory, banks, stock broking firms and involved in financial planning and wealth management. The program will also be useful to those who are working in software companies in investment banking domain. Award of Certificate A part-time certificate of completion will be jointly awarded by IIMB and Thomson Reuters to the participants at the end of the program upon successful completion of the program satisfying the program requirements which are as follows: 75% attendance in classroom/labs and scoring atleast 50% marks in exam/project. Alumni On successful completion of the programme, the participants are eligible to be admitted to IIM Bangalore Alumni association on a onetime payment of Rs 3000/- Program Charges: Programme fee is Rs. 2,52,000/- + applicable service Tax at current per participant which is payable in two installments as per schedule indicated.

7 Program Directors: Prof. Ashok Thampy Ashok Thampy is Associate Professor in Finance at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). His areas of interest are corporate finance, financial risk management, credit risk, industrial economics, banking, insurance and the regulatory framework for the financial system. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Krannert Graduate School of Management, Purdue University, Indiana, USA. He was the recipient of the Purdue Research Fellow ship for his thesis, which analysed the strategic interactions between product and financial markets. He obtained his BA (Honors) in Economics from St. Stephen s college, Delhi, and Masters degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Prior to joining IIMB, Prof. Thampy was an assistant professor with the Department of Finance, Bilkent University, Turkey. He has also been a visiting professor to the department of Economics at Santa Clara University, USA. Prof. Thampy is active in the Asia Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) and has served on the Board of Governors of APRIA. At IIMB, he teaches corporate finance and risk management in the MBA and executive education programmes and is currently the chairperson of the Finance and Control Area at IIMB. thampy@iimb.ernet.in

8 Prof. M S Narasimhan Professor Narasimhan s areas of interest include management accounting, corporate finance and capital markets. He holds a Master s Degree in commerce (Madras) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (IFMR). He has obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Madras. He is also a member of Institute of cost and works Accountant of India. After serving in the industry for a brief period, he joined as a faculty member at the institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), Chennai. Dr. Narasimhan has taught in several executive development programmes and published several articles and research studies in national and international journals and financial newspapers. His research paper also won the best Research paper award at the annual convention of AIMS held at Pune. He has also completed a study on Corporate Disclosure Practices in India sponsored under the FIRE project. He was also a member of a consulting team, which studied cash management in LIC, Organisational Structure of a state-level development bank, Costing systems of a transformer manufacturing company, Restructuring of state level small scale industries development corporation, Risk Management in Treasury of a Large Bank and Financial and Portfolio Management of TTD, and financial accounting and costing system for water supply project. 9 Prof. Padmini Srinivasan Professor Padmini Srinivasan is a Ph.D from the National Law School of India University. She is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. As a Faculty at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, she currently teaches Financial Account, Managerial Accounting, Corporate Tax Management and Corporate Governance in the Post Graduate Programmes. As part of Executive Education, she has designed and conducted programmes of short and long duration for a number of organizations. Prior to joining IIMB, Dr. Srinivasan has worked in the Industry for more than ten years in various positions in Treasury, Planning, MIS and Accounting.
