3 Corporate Social Responsibility Paddy Power appreciates that it has important responsibilities to its customers and the broader community, as well as to its employees and shareholders. 4 Our 2013 Graduate Programmes find your fit: In 2013 we have graduate opportunities available in the following areas: ONLINE & MARKETING IT RISK The structure of each of our Programmes differ as they have been designed to reflect the unique development path for graduates starting a career within each distinct business area: Our Online and Marketing graduates will complete a number of 4 month rotations around the core areas of Marketing, Product Development, Online Sportsbook, egaming, Online Marketing Group and Online Operations giving them broad knowledge and experience of paddypower.com. Our IT graduates will be given the opportunity to experience a technical and professional hands-on training and development programme to equip them with the skills to take on roles in either our or ecommerce or Applications Development teams. The programmes will kick off together in September 2013 with an induction week packed with interactive sessions and presentations from across the business, hands-on project work and plenty of social activities! What was most impressive about the week for me personally was the level of seniority of the speakers. In any other company, talks from those people of experience would just not happen. Feedback from the 2012 Graduate Induction Week The week was extremely well run, professional and playful at the same time, catered for excellently. It was fast-paced, especially the first 3 days where a lot of information was presented to you. I was surprised at how much I didn t know about all the different functions of the business and how they all work hand in hand. It was very enjoyable and I must say that everyone we came across was extremely enthusiastic about their role and their excitement about where they see Paddy Power going in the future was clear for us all to see. I feel that time spent one on one with the buddies was a good way to learn a lot about the organisation, what it is like to work here and made me feel like I had a point of contact at all times. It was reassuring and informative. Our Risk graduates will join either the Quants or Sports Trading teams and will receive specific technical training in these areas. While the on-the-job aspects of the Programmes vary, each graduate joining will benefit from the following learning and development opportunities: A one-week comprehensive graduate induction programme in September 2013 A Buddy to help you settle in quickly and answer all those questions you really want to ask! 5 Online and Marketing Programme: How does it work? In the Online and Marketing Programme you will have the opportunity to complete rotations in five of the following key areas of our business: Marketing, Product Development, Online Sportsbook, egaming, Online Marketing Group and Online Operations. With our growth in overseas markets in the UK, Italy and Australia, there is an opportunity for our 2013 Online and Marketing Graduates to complete an international rotation as part of the Programme. At the end of your rotations, we work with you to decide which area of the business is the best fit with your skillset and career ambitions. Here s a flavour of what each of these areas do: The Marketing Team currently has 11 staff between its Dublin and London Offices and this team will continue to grow. They are responsible for delivering a plethora of memorable campaigns and events over the past two decades which have grabbed attention from around the globe. As a team, they take fun very seriously! Our goal is to position betting as entertainment and to make betting with Paddy Power an all-encompassing experience that means a lot more than simply winning or losing money. We cover the entire marketing mix, and have individual teams that work across all marketing functions namely: Brand Management; PR & Communications; Retail; Sponsorship; CRM; Direct Response. The Team provides services to the individual business units within the Group, as well as working centrally to build the overall Paddy Power brand. The Product Development Team in Paddy Power is responsible for product development for our Online Business units (egaming) and the Dial-A-Bet operation. The team currently has over 50 staff across five main areas: business analysis, user experience, project management, graphic design and the Betdash team. Our mandate is to enable our online business more effectively retail their products. This is achieved by delivering development projects which add features to our customer facing products and back office systems. Online Sportsbook was launched in Ireland in June 2000, with entry in to the UK in March Since then it s gone from strength to strength and established itself as one of the Top 5 online bookmakers in the UK. We are now aiming for World domination, starting with Australia where we recently acquired a controlling stake in their biggest corporate bookmaker Sportsbet in Australia in Online Sportsbook has achieved this growth through focus on fairness to the punter, value and product innovation. Home of the Money-Back Special, we have built a reputation as the punter s pal, often paying out unlucky losing punters or refunding when they ve not had had a fair run. Our product offering is second to none. We offer a wider range of markets than any of our competitors, and will price almost anything our customers ask for. We combine this with continuous product development, to ensure we always stay one step ahead. The Online Marketing Group is one of the fastest growing teams in Paddy Power with over 28 staff across the division. Covering all of our online products, they re responsible for online acquisition Sportsbook, Casino, Poker, Games and Bingo. Over the last few years, the number of new customers choosing Paddy Power over our competitors has increased hugely, and continues to do so but were not stopping there we want more! Each department is relatively independent but they all require the use of certain functions: Customer Registration Enabling customers to play on all of our websites from Sportsbook to Bingo Customer Payments Enabling Deposits and withdrawals from the likes of PayPal and Debit Card on all platforms including our mobile apps Customer Security Preventing fraud, bonus abuse, Money Laundering etc through the use of some of the most cutting edge technology in the business Customer Experience Having a good Experience at paddypower.com doesn t happen by accident. Gaining specialised knowledge in each department while also seeing how each department fits in with the others, resulted in a greater understanding of how the online business functions as a whole. As a graduate you are given real responsibility, giving you the chance to challenge and prove yourself. Most importantly, I have had the pleasure of working and playing with fantastic people and learning that an office does not have to be boring. This was great for me because coming from a relatively broad business/ecommerce background it meant I was exposed to marketing, product, operations, IT and analysis. Formed in 2002 with 4 people, our Sports Team now currently employ 66 in Dublin with a further 25 traders in Melbourne. The team operate 24/7 covering 84 different sports ranging from regular ones like football, tennis etc to minor ones like UFC, Waterpolo and Chess. This is a unique opportunity for a graduate to join the Sports team as a Junior Sports Trader where your role will involve: Compiling odds for multiple Sports events in a timely and accurate fashion Compiling betting in running odds for a vast array of Sports Continuously monitoring and responding to sports information Monitoring competitor markets and reacting accordingly to any extraordinary market moves Managing company risk on various Sports markets Do you have what it takes? Achieved a minimum of 450 points in your Leaving Cert (or equivalent) Achieved, or be on course for a minimum 2.1 honours degree ideally in a mathematics/statistics or business related degree. Highly numerate A passion for and extensive knowledge of various Sports is essential Of equal importance to passion for sports is attention to detail, familiarity with excel and the ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure any data analysis and/or financial experience could also be beneficial. An interest/experience in betting an advantage Flexible attitude towards working hours, as this position involves working weekend and night shifts when various major Sports events take place across the world. 7 RISK Quants : How does it work? As our business grows, Paddy Power is looking to increase our use of analytics, quantitative analysis, modelling and technology to meet customer and company requirements. Our Quantitative Analysis Unit plays a key role in providing this analytical competence and we are continuously looking to hire the brightest recent graduates across our Risk department to solve challenges that are truly unique in complexity and scale. These opportunities offer graduates the opportunity to work on business changing projects and make a real difference to the successful operation of Paddy Power s business model. Working within the fast moving Quants team you will develop your numerical and technology capabilities while working on a wide spectrum of real life problems and challenges. You will gain a thorough understanding of bookmaking business, Paddy Power plc and our online and retail operations. The role offers great potential for progression into obtaining a niche expertise or into the wider organisation. You will join the Quants R&D team as a Graduate Quantitative Analyst where your role will involve: Production of incisive reports, informing the business of internal and external issues Research and analysis on new product opportunities and pricing mechanisms Development of decision rules for risk management systems Development of KPI s and operating metrics Provide thought leadership for the business as part of a centre of excellence within Paddy Power Work collaboratively across groups to secure buy-in and drive issues to resolution and ideas to acceptance. Data mining Paddy Power s databases of sports, specials and customer transactions to drive and support the findings of your work. Do you have what it takes? Economics and Finance, MSc. Quantitative Finance (UCD) Over the past year I have worked on a broad range of analysis projects across both horse racing and sports. During these I have become proficient in several programming languages (VBA, SQL and C#) and developed a strong understanding of both bookmaking and sports as well as having learned a lot of useful mathematical and statistical techniques used for data analysis. One of the best things about working in Quants is that you are given the freedom to use your own initiative and imagination when taking on any project. This makes Quants an exciting place to work for anyone who has a natural curiosity for both sports and problem solving alike. Niall loves his numbers!

8 IT Programme: How does it work? The Technology department within Paddy Power solves challenges that are truly unique in complexity and scale. The Group has retail, B2B, B2C and e-commerce dimensions. It has a global network of retail outlets, high volume real-time trading applications and mission critical websites. It sells live price feeds into some of the largest gaming operators in the world. Graduates joining our IT Programme will have the opportunity to engage in a structured training programme which begins with formal modules covering knowledge of the gaming and betting industry, technical training in best practice Java/PHP languages and upskilling you in the in the Paddy Power approach and tools. Following this you will build on your knowledge of the organisation by shadowing colleagues in the key client areas for IT - Retail, Trading & Online, followed by some hands-on experience with the Online Operations team! Based on your experience you will then join either our ecommerce or Applications Development Team where your role will involve: Applications Development: Crafting high quality, maintainable code using industry standard best practice techniques Analysing and gathering business requirements and architect appropriate solutions Working in an agile manner which will require effectively managing own task list while being very proactive in managing time Working on the forefront of the Gaming Industry and with latest technologies Working with the Web Development team on projects You endeavour to build on your knowledge by reading relevant blogs, contributing to open source projects, posting/answering questions on community forums and building straw men to demonstrate technologies and techniques. You thrive in a team environment and enjoy collaborating with others to achieve shared goals. Since joining I have had great exposure to test and business driven development and my approach to developing software has completely been enhanced due to working with some incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable and fun people! The best thing about working here is that even though the company is growing exponentially, it still has a lean, start-up feel.
