Research Activities 06/96 08/99 Doctoral Thesis: ʺThe Use of Kinetic Family Drawings as a Measure of Family Perceptions Among Abused Children: A Comparison of Resilient and Non Resilient Childrenʺ. Chairperson: Myra Leifer, Ph.D. This study examined the factors which contribute to resiliency and assessed the correlation of resiliency with the childʹs perceptions of the quality of attachment style, psychological functioning of the family, and family characteristics. The KFD was used as the measure of how children perceived their own family relationships. Projective drawings of 111 children were assessed by two raters trained by this writer. Resilience was measured by CBCL subscales. 03/92 05/94 Worked as a research assistant for Carol Huntsinger, Ph.D. Assisted with several projects pertaining to cross cultural patterns of familial interaction and intellectual development. Viewed videos of Chinese, Chinese American, and Euro American families playing a counting game together, transcribed the tapes, and coded the tapes for the types of behavior patterns which occurred using Q Sort assessment. Also coded audio tapes,

4 assessing the styles in which parents helped their children solve a math puzzle. In another study, evaluated childrenʹs drawings with the Harris Goodenough Draw a Person test.
